Berbs42[TK] Posted April 15, 2010 Report Posted April 15, 2010 Howdy, All!! Just got a set of PT armor from a generous Star Garrison member (Central TX Squad). Part of it has been assembled (thighs, and calves have been glued at the front, still need strips to cover the seam - and the bucket was almost complete - needed to glue in the welder's lenses, and will need to add electronics), but I have a long ways to go before completion! Have a Hasbro Blaster that I may initially just spray black, but eventually plan to outfit with DoopyDoo's resin kit. I'll update when new items are received, and when parts are completed. As of 04.15.10 Bucket: Assembled, Need Electronics: fans / mic/ amp / speakers (not sure if I'll keep in helmet or behind chestplate) Armor: starting build Undersuit: UnderArmor HeatGear Purchased Neck seal: Researching Gloves: Researching Belt: Researching Boots: Received, may repaint, currently flaking off... Holster: Researching Blaster: Hasbro - to be painted LaterDays, - Berban Quote
TK3373[TK] Posted April 17, 2010 Report Posted April 17, 2010 Thats a nice suit you have there. Dont know too much about PT armour. Good luck with the build. Quote
Berbs42[TK] Posted May 30, 2010 Author Report Posted May 30, 2010 (edited) Well, every time I worked on my armor, I neglected to take pics!! So much for a "build" thread!! Lol! Anyhow, here's some pics of my first fitting. (PLEASE excuse the poorly put on parts; it was 1 am when I finally got all this together) http://farm5.static.flickr.com/4072/4653397378_9978882d43.jpg Hasbro E-11 painted. Will modify later with DoopyDoos kit. http://farm5.static.flickr.com/4056/4652791035_9f74af4c69.jpg Finished the O2 Canister after the pics. It's a little long, but can still be trimmed. That's all I got right now, hope at least a few of you like! Any tips? Criticisms? Comments? LaterDays, - Berbs Edited May 22, 2021 by gmrhodes13 Updated Quote
firebladejedi[TK] Posted May 30, 2010 Report Posted May 30, 2010 If thats your first time wearing the armour its not too bad, just some adjustments and fine fitting needed... Here is what i noticed; I dont think the boots will clear due to the extra stitching of the panels, check with your GML. The shoulder straps dont seem to be attached? Glue the front ans free to float at the rear. The shoulder bells need to come up closer to the straps, and lower the biceps. I would remove most of the return edge off the chest plate, there seems to be far too much there. Spin the forearms around so they are in line with the rest of the arm pieces. Trim the O2 tank / thermal detonator it want to be closer to 7-5 inches in total including the end caps. Some general tweaking with the strapping cant go a miss, you will find this out when you get out and troop Quote
TK bondservnt[501st] Posted May 31, 2010 Report Posted May 31, 2010 also of note is the AB plate needs to be a lot higher up on your torso. this will allow for the chest plate to sit correctly. you usually will have a lot of tension on the AB plate and butt plates if your using suspenders then you should shorten them a bit. never heard of PT armor before... looks pretty good. (though I'm thinking I'll replace them with TKboots.com boots. The shoulder straps dont seem to be attached? Glue the front ans free to float at the rear. Yeah they're velcroed for the time-being, but will probably glue them down once I know the exact position I want them in. The shoulder bells need to come up closer to the straps, and lower the biceps. Shoulder bells = DONE Lower biceps = Will do. I would remove most of the return edge off the chest plate, there seems to be far too much there. I've thought about that, but to be honest I'm scared to remove too much. Spin the forearms around so they are in line with the rest of the arm pieces. Thank you!! Completely overlooked that even even when I've test fitted it since these pics. Trim the O2 tank / thermal detonator it want to be closer to 7-5 inches in total including the end caps. I am wondering what the standard proportions are; in other words: how many inches long vs the diameter? Some general tweaking with the strapping cant go a miss, you will find this out when you get out and troop Yeah, I'm really afraid of Armor Bites for the troop this weekend. Thanks for the input!! Keep it coming!! LaterDays, - Berban Edited June 1, 2010 by Berbs42 Quote

Only using suspenders to support shoulder bells, and thighs, but I do have adjustable strapping on all the torso pieces. Quote never heard of PT armor before... looks pretty good. Darth Voorhees[501st] Posted June 23, 2010 Report Posted June 23, 2010 Looks nice, but i personally would never buy from someone who recast TE2. Your build is coming along very nice though, follow the tips already stated and your good to go. I am a GML, and i would not clear those boots. Tkboots.com is the way to go. Quote
Berbs42[TK] Posted June 24, 2010 Author Report Posted June 24, 2010 (edited) Just to show some of the adjustments I made: : : : : Bear in mind: I still have MANY more adjustments to make before I even think about going for EIB!!! But I will try to get there ASAP. (in the words of a famous Simpson: "Mmmm, TKBoots...") Ever since I discovered them here on the boards a couple of months back, I've wanted them. Perhaps one day soon. LaterDays, - Berban Edited June 24, 2010 by Berbs42 Quote
TK-7980 Posted June 26, 2010 Report Posted June 26, 2010 Your armor looks great dude! I've got a PT kit as well (2nd one). Only thing I see is, you MIGHT have your forearms on the wrong sides. If I remember correctly the one with the swoop is the left arm. Quote
Berbs42[TK] Posted June 26, 2010 Author Report Posted June 26, 2010 Only thing I see is, you MIGHT have your forearms on the wrong sides. If I remember correctly the one with the swoop is the left arm. Wait,... what swoop?!? Doh! Do you mean the little cutaway piece on the inside of the elbow (so to speak)?? If so: DANG. I already have velcroed the "backsides" of each of the forearms, so if I swapped 'em out the velcro would be on the "front".... Can you confirm? LaterDays, - Berban Quote
