My try with TE ROTJ

After months and lots of tries,I finally finished my ROTJ helmet. I guess that I'm not to far from the Hero look (see the screen used helmet exposed at Comic Con last year)

 

 

Machined mic tips from Russ (perfect), custom decals made with paint and balck adhesive vinyl (in silkscreened style), S shaped neck trim from TM. It's not the final lenses. I want to replace them with an accurate set made out of thick dark green acrylic and formed from an original ROTJ shape (if possible ^^)

Sweet lid, Verne! What did you use to attach / back fill Russ' tips? I have a set just like Joe R's that Russ used as the original template for these. I took beige caps off of hotel shampoo bottles, put a slightly oversized screen on them, and pushed them into the tips from the back side. This held the screens in, and filled in the tip. I then attached screws to the inside of the tip w/ epoxy. They look just like yours. Just need a helmet to mount them in......

I put a piece of foam behind the mesh. Then I inserted a piece of expanded polystyrene with a screw inside and glued with hot glue.

 

It's not a perfect work, but not visible and easy to remove ^^

Great job making that lid look as bad as they did in the movie. No matter how I try, I cant get into ROTJ.

 

Looks dead on though.
