I purchased some AM handguards from a fellow member and I was shocked to see how big they were. I first mistook them for shoulder bells, these things are quite massive and I have fairley large hands. Can anyone give me some advice on how to go about doing this ? http://img72.imageshack.us/img72/4093/img1820tj.jpg http://img819.imageshack.us/img819/9522/img1819zr.jpg http://img821.imageshack.us/img821/6671/img1814wp.jpg http://img685.imageshack.us/img685/55/img1816c.jpg I have also noticed from looking at reference pics that these dont look to be the same shape, but I am unsure if trimming them down might make them appear to be closer to the correct shape or if I should use a heat gun and try to bend them to a flatter ESB type look? http://img215.imageshack.us/img215/3681/img1818qm.jpg I have taped off about one inch on the front and sides in this picture. Do you think this might be enough or should I cut off more and what is the best way to do this? I was thinking I would use the tape as a guide, trace around it with a pencil, then score with an exacto. I am hesitating doing this since this will be my first attempt at cutting, but as soon as an expert gives me the go ahead, I am willing to give it a try.

Ok so my AM armour is very nearly done, just a few more cosmetic and strapping things to do. I got my mum to take a bunch of photos of me fully kitted up and from a lot of angles/lengths. So here it is! ------ (Note: ab buttons aren't done yet, mic tips currently aren't in, belt isn't finished, thigh ammo pack isn't attached, and rank stripes aren't painted) What I've noticed already: - The shoulder bells need a strap to connect to the sternum strap on my suspenders to pull them forward a bit, they sit back too far. - The shins need velcro on the inside of the front to attach them to the boots so they don't spin around - I need to strap the chest plate to the ab plate (probably with velcro and elastic) to pull it down (and keep it down) and pull the back plate up. (I'll do that before the shoulder bell straps to see if they stay forward without a sternum strap.) - Add padding to the shins to help keep them snug against my legs - Make a small strap between the sides of the butt plate the thighs to keep the butt plate down? Should I do that? --------
