  1. Your right, they are not easy to track down. It was only after continually searching ebay that I finally came across them. There was only about a dozen or so snaps in the bag as well, just enough for a kit fortunately. I am not sure if they even make these snaps anymore?
  2. The parts we can see in this photo measure 14mm for the socket and 12mm for the post. The cap measures 16mm and the stud is 10mm. The parts look EXACTLY the same as in this photo and I will take a photo of mine shortly. I must say it took a lot of searching on ebay to find these, they are not common.
  3. Excellent job Terry! Those tube stripes are amazing. I love how you did them and even got the overrun on the 3rd stripe...fantastic
  4. I have some vintage Newey snaps that I will measure for you tomorrow.
  5. The shin problem could be down to the ankles being too tight or the boots too wide. Are the CAboots tighter than your Loakes Chris? Maybe try leaving a lower shin strap undone and see how they feel?
  6. My mini kits would not fit someone 5 feet tall. My son is just over 4 foot and the moulds grow with him. I think your best bet would be one of the FX kids kits or a cheap set of armour you might find and chop it up so it fits your daughter.
  7. Nice work Pete! Your getting quite good at this lark
  8. If they are bots you are buying from ebay then just ask the seller for the text inside the boots before you buy.
  9. Cool! See, you can find out things if you try. Well done. Just in case you are unsure about the brand (as most boots don't have the name inside) the model number you are looking for is 1095. If your boots don't have that then they probably aren't the boots your looking for.
  10. Don't worry Dennis, I'll put them back up later mate. I just got wound up with all the crap going on and took them down. I don't see why others who want to find the boots for themselves should suffer because of a few narrow minded people, so I will get them back up.
  11. No Mark, I didn't. Maybe next time
  12. Looks like the bottom section of the box is split on both sides causing it to bend inside and make it look bigger than it actually is. That's what it looks like to me anyway. TE belts are a fan sculpt, not cast from an original.
  13. It's not latex, it's plastic. I was lucky enough to see all this kit and it really is spectacular
  14. More like your lass found her high heels you'd been wearing with your armour and took 'em back Sling backs and Stormtroopers don't really go together mate
  15. The brand name of the boots was given to me in confidence 'after' I had done all the hard work locating them. Now, if I am given the all clear to reveal the brand then I will do so. If I just give the brand name away because someone demands to know and I go against the original boot owners wishes, I am not going to be trusted again. So as you can see, it's not a case of me wanting to hoard the info, more like keeping my end of the deal.
  16. Maybe I shouldn't have started this thread. Please delete.
  17. Why do you feel I should give away something that I worked hard for years to get? It's your attitude that stinks! Who do you think you are taking things that don't belong to you and giving them away freely? Let's see you give out all the info you have about your original ROTJ helmets. Give us the scans from the decals so we can make our own. Tell us the brand of the snaps on the chin straps. There are lots of things you could share but choose not to, so get off your high horse before I knock you off it!
  18. Try TKboots.com for some nice white boots Vern It's these kind of comments and attitude that make me less likely to reveal the brand.
  19. Great photos there Steve! If I would have seen these photos back when I got into the hobby I would have sworn your kit was an original. It truly looks incredible. And I am not just saying that because I made it, I really mean it, it is awesome (gotta sort those boots out though )
  20. The credit for the weathering should go to Pete (stukatrooper), he taught me the technique Basically, you rub the whole armour with newspaper (black and white is best). I added extra scuff marks with sand paper on the hard edges and a dusting of black pastel powder. Rub it all in with your hands and then take most of it off with a cloth. It should leave a nice used look. You can always add more or less depending on what you are looking for
  21. Don't worry about it. All the AM and SDS guys have the same problem Swap it over and fill in the holes then paint (assuming you have painted your ATA)
  22. Absolutely If you use these kind of screen caps for reference with your armour build you cannot go wrong.
