  1. The ROTJ shoulder bells do have a thin elastic strap on the bottom of the bells, but it is about 2" from the bottom so it cannot be seen across the biceps.
  2. You have them the right way.
  3. Blasters are not really my thing, so I can't say for sure about the cocking handle slot being open or closed. But, I would imagine that real MGC's would have been open and resin casts would have closed slots.
  4. Here are a couple of pics showing the numbers that will help you. The magic number is 1095.
  5. Yeah, I have the Magix but I haven't used it yet. I know it is good stuff but I am always on the lookout for anything that might be better.
  6. If there is one thing you won't see on original armour it is a straight line, and the belt is no exception. I made each box on the belt slightly different so that there is no symmetry. Once you start making things all nice and even you take away the look of the original Stromtrooper
  7. Hi Dave, The boots look awesome! I wish I could find a brand new pair of size 10's. What kind of paint or dye are you thinking of using? How do they fit?
  8. Well, I do try and get everything as screen accurate as possible
  9. Yeah, I think wonky is more accurate I think the original boxes are not exactly lined up straight so if you did score a straight line you would have uneven gaps along both edges.
  10. I don't know, the red ones look quite attractive I do have a bunch of brass snaps that I bought a while back, and I think they could be fine for ROTJ. I am pretty sure I have seen the brass snaps on the tour suits, but whether they used brass on the ROTJ is anyones guess.
  11. You can see on Simons belt that they are not ttrimmed too close to the boxes. It's not the best photo, but it's the only public photo I can show.
  12. I see what you mean now, but I don't agree with you. I have photos of original ANH belts and they do have some 'edge' left on them, and they measure 95mm tall which is probably close to what Chris' belt is. I am not sure of the exact length of the ammo section, but mine measures 460mm. I have seen plenty of tour suits with no edge left on the belts, but the ANH's are rough trimmed and not as clean as the tour suits style belts.
  13. I think they might pop up again so I would get them next time. I have enough to last me a life time so I won't be bidding on any that are offered. Just remember you will need a special setting tool for them. They are unlike all other snaps on the market so all the tools you might have are useless on these Newey snaps.
  14. These snaps are the same size as the ones I had already. I took a sample to RS props and they matched the snaps on Simons suit 100% The original elastic chin straps are 25mm wide - not 20mm.
  15. I think there was someone on here who was making accurate ROTJ canisters and had the correct electrical component that was used to make the detail on the det plate. It could have been BFA?
  16. You will have to show me what you mean because I haven't got a clue what your talking about
  17. Well guys, After searching long and hard for ages I have finally managed to find a few more of these original snaps
  18. Congrats on your TK ID I can't understand why you would have to do anything with your belt? It looks fine to me
  19. WOW Chris!!! Fantastic job on your build. It looks AWESOME! Really nice work mate. I'm impressed
  20. Take a look at a real belt and decide for yourself.
  21. I would love to come down to the Museum. Just let me know when and I will see if we can both make it
  22. I thought as much The boots I am going to paint had already been painted with white spray paint and they had cracked and flaked pretty badly. I spent a good hour removing the paint and they are now ready for a new coat, so i thought I would ask you about your boots as I remembered how good they looked when you first shown them off. Looks like I'll be off down to cobblers fpr the magix tomorrow then
  23. Hi Steve, Just wondering how the paint on your boots has held up mate? I am looking to paint a pair of my own boots as well as a certain young mans this weekend, so it would be good to know if I am going to buy the plastikote or magix white
