  1. You can get the body armour into a suitcase if you slide the arms into the shins, then the shins inside the thighs and the thighs inside the torso. Helmet has to be carried seperately.
  2. Simons suit has 2" wide shoulder straps, same as all the other original armour from ANH.
  3. I don't see any reason why any of the suit wasn't worn on screen at one time or another. I just wanted to point out that just because the belt has been identified it doesn't mean that it belonged to the same suit as Simons when on screen, which is what some people have been saying. I would guess that each set of armour was swapped and changed regularly between takes and the actors would not have cared who had what at any given time. If the suit at Borehamwood was a solo suit and is not Simons, the helmet sure is and everything else about the armour looks to be the same or very similar. The ABS hand plates are unique to this armour as far as I know and the abdomen does not have the button detail but does have a black mark on the indentation just like Simons. Maybe all the buttons were black on this suit in the photo and it's a shame we can't see more because of the guys arm in the way. Maybe Simon painted more black details on the suit because there were already some on the abdomen? It would be great if we could pinpoint Simons suit in ANH but I fear that it will never be seen simply because it is made up of several suits. Trying to find the parts that make up Simons suit is going to be fun and I know that we will find them eventually
  4. I have to agree with everything Rob says. No doubt that Simons suit was cobbled together from several sets of armour since some parts are Stormtrooper and some are Sandtrooper. What is interesting about the torso is that it is a Sandtrooper but has had extra shoulder straps fitted that are not original formed pieces usually found on a Stormtrooper. This photo below shows what I strongly believe to be Simons suit with the original formed straps of the same straps with lines drawn on like the hand plates. If you notice the belt is a different colour and the only part of Simons suit that isn't painted is the belt. Note the missing belly detail, doubled up right arms but with the correct inner left forearm piece - all key points relating to Simons suit. I also believe this is Simons suit too. Look at the helmet - it is assembled and trimmed exactly the same way and the arms are also doubled. Hand plate is flat ABS with drawn markings too. I also believe that Simons suit was cobbled together from these troopers seen here with Vader. The helmet in the middle trooper looks to be Simons and the torso could be on Vaders right (our left). Note how all the suits are mixed between Sandtrooper and Stormtrooper. You can see thet torso here has the same rivet as Simons and also the cod piece looks to starting to crack where Simons has too. And finally, a nice photo of Stormtroopers on Tantive IV that shows Simons belt on the Hero trooper which proves it was just the belt that made an appearance on screen and not necessarily the armour.
  5. Your persistance with this plastic has definitely paid off. These are no doubt the best replicas ever made and I don't think anyone could make a better helmet. They look fantastic! Great work guys
  6. You have everything is the correct position except for the outer forearm pieces need swapping over. The parts I gave to RS to cast are the knee plate, ab buttons (both parts), hand plates and shoulder straps - nothing else. The knee ammo strap is their own making and not cast from the original suit. Same goes for their belt and drop boxes I believe since they are too sharp looking to be cast from the real deal.
  7. Just so you know, the ESB MKII is a competely different suit compared to your RS. You would be better off with a CFO if you want to try and replicate an ESB MKII since it was cast from one originally. I would stick with going ANH or ESB MKI. Good job with the helmet build BTW
  8. I have one of those scopes and I will be using it on my real Sterling until I can find a more accurate one
  9. Is the RT really any bigger than your TM? Looking at your photos I think your massive FX chest piece might be making the gap between your chest and helmet look smaller. Have you worn your RT helmet with TM armour to see if the gap is less or are you just going by how your TM looks on you and comparing it to your FX/RT combo?
  10. Me too! The state of that box is disgusting. It saddens me to see a kit arrive in a box in such a bad condition especially when it is clearly marked FRAGILE! I am pleased everything is in perfect condition though and look forward to seeing your progress with the build. Good luck
  11. Most (if not all) sub machine guns and assault rifles are right handed. The ejection ports are on the right hand side of the reciever and ejects spent shell away from the shooters face.
  12. Nice photos Steve Good to see our cadets in training at such a young age
  13. Work on these sculpts has been slow going again, but I have made some progress. Things are really starting to take shape and I am looking forward to pulling a test suit soon. Here is how everything is looking so far.
  14. Just remember that the suit is a tour suit and not an original ROTJ, so don't go sticking velcro in your ROTJ replica armour
  15. You're wrong. The middle helmet is actually an ESB MKII which is different from regular ESB helmets made from khaki PP. These are made from ABS and are similar to the ROTJ, but these were made specially for ESB and only one helmet was seen on screen. The way you have listed them should be the other way around - second helmet is an ROTJ and the third is an ESB
  16. Now it's too low! Just kidding mate Looks much better to me.
  17. These are really awesome photos. Thank you for sharing them here That ANH helmet is incredible. The top is an ANH, middle is an ESB and bottom is an ROTJ. What makes you think they listed them wrong?
  18. That goes for everything in Star Wars. Make things too nice and you take away that screen used look. Whenever you over-think a prop, 9 times out of 10 you end up with an idealised version, and that just isn't my cup of tea Carry on
  19. Click on these links to see the larger photos. You can see the rear sights are missing and the scope rails are low. http://www.originalprop.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2008/12/stormtrooper-e-11-blaster-missing-hengstler-box-cylinders-hd.jpg http://www.originalprop.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2008/12/princess-leia-stormtroopers-high-definition-star-wars.jpg
  20. Look at the trooper on the right. His rail looks very low and the rear sight seems to be missing completely.
  21. The lower the better for me. Having it lower would get that curve you see on the screen used blasters that is created by the scope mounting bolts.
