  1. Probably BFA. Armour looks like his.
  2. Like I said, I am comparing everything to the original ANH kit. Having the clips bent the opposite way is no better or worse, they just look odd to me. I know it's not everyones intention to have their kit look like a screen used Stormtrooper, but if you are going for these EIB and Centurion awards then I think you should be preparred to up the ante a bit. Just my thoughts
  3. Your belt corners are trimmed too much and the belt should be just less than 3" wide. The canister clips are bent the wrong way on the bottom and are facing towards the canister instead of away from it. The holster looks huge too. This is comparing your stuff to the original ANH kit and just an FYI for anyone interested.
  4. You will need to lose the drop boxes and shoulder straps too. I can supply the TD knee plate, 3 button strip for the ab plate and cheesegrater hand plates.
  5. Yes it is normal. Every single piece of the original armour and helmets are not symetrical and it's about everyone got that into their heads. They were hand sculpted and not CNC machined to make them nice and pretty. They are warped, twisted, lopsided, uneven, and so on. Nothing is symetrical or perfect mirror images left and right. Every piece is a unique shape. Take a look at this original hero. Now look at it flpped. Get the squeeky clean, perfect Stormtrooper vision out of your head becasue it just doesn't exist with real props.
  6. I wouldn't go more than 4" personally. Just becasue one trooper has these extra long straps doesn't mean we should follow his lead. And for your ab strapped over the chest theory, it's simply because the parts have pulled out with all the running around....nothing more.
  7. I wouldn't say so, no. If the screen used drop boxes measure 4 1/2" tall, then the max distance of that particular troopers holster is 5". That is the longest I can see so far in ROTJ with other few being much closer.
  8. I don't have any number to offer, but I can tell you the holster in that CRL photo looks ridiculous. It is far too long and really should go down to the bottom of your thigh armour at the most. I think the problem when trying to scale things is that most holsters are too big which is a bad starting point. I will look into it and give you some measurements when I have some time.
  9. This is true with the 2mm acrylic capped ABS. Not so much with the 1.5mm gloss ABS though since it is very flexible and takes a heck of a beating.
  10. Where are you getting all these numbers from? If the guy is short then use shorter straps. No point tripping over your holster for the sake of trying to be uber accurate when it is not practicle. Most of the ROTJ's didn't have a holster anyway.
  11. You can tell which are the outer parts as they are more rounded. The inner parts are indented at the front and you should only have one of these, the inner right. The duplicate parts are the outer right and inner left, leaving the rounded outer left to make up the set. It looks like you already have them assembled correctly.
  12. Well, the holsters in ROTJ do go down to their knees with the extra long straps. I don't know if having shorter straps would affect EIB or Centurion. As long as it is mounted to your right hip I can see any problems personally.
  13. Nice armour Loving the last photo. The armour looks great on you, even with a broken arm Looking forward to seeing your stunt version with the PP helmet.
  14. And a very nice looking torso it is too I like to paint the side rivets as well as the screw heads before I strap it together (after fixing the ab and kidney together) so all the white paintwork is done in one go. I also like to attach the cod strap before I connect the kidney since it is a bit tricky doing last. A little tip. You can undo the middle chest-ab strap on your tosro for more movement. Doing this will allow you to bend more without getting choked by your chest plate.
  15. The gap is just how they are. The gap gets slightly bigger once you add the original strapping since you have a double thickness elastic strap and hook in there. That is just how the movie suits are.
  16. You can trim the front facing side of the ear caps and leave the backs, so they kind of tilt inwards instead of being parallel. That's what I do anyway.
  17. I would say a 6mm head. They don't look very big to me.
  18. Suiting up is pretty easy once you have your routine sorted out. Having some of your parts on a table is very handy. Parts like the arms, gloves, helmet and blaster, all parts that go on after your torso really. My routine is to put my thighs on first, then boots, then shins, then complete torso. I fix my belt and canister before I have my arms on so it is easier. Then I slip on my arms, then my gloves (tucking them inside the forearm) and finally my helmet. Job done!
  19. Here are a couple of my TD's for reference to help build yours. If you need any metl brackets or screws, I have them available.
  20. *EDIT* Didn't read properly...carry on
  21. I tried looking through Ricks posts but the search function didn't go back very far. I know R2Dan and ObiHahn both showed off their suits too. I don't think it was particularly about TM armour, more like how everyones kits have evolved over the years, progressively getting more accurate each time.
  22. There is a thead on here somewhere that shows some members in each kit they have owned over the years. You can see how each different kit looks on them if you can find the thread.
  23. Who made your helmet? Movie helmets are not small.
  24. I would trim more off the bottom return edge. You don't really want any edge on the bottom if you can help it. You can see it is making the plate tilt in towards your knee when it want to be flush against the shin.
  25. I have painted it on PVC before with no problems. Must have been a bad batch.
