  1. That is what I am thinking too. Though they could have used a few washers to help with the holes.
  2. It's RS, not TE. And even if it was TE, does that mean it's okay to recast?
  3. While we are on the subject of noticing things. I was watching ANH frame by frame again last night and noticed the hero trooper giving instructions to the crew men on the Death Star has his holster attached with what looks like 4 rivets (2 per strap side by side). Then I thought a holster may have already been attached and a new one fitted, but why not use the same holes? Not sure if you can see it in the photos, but you will see it on screen if you watch. No major discovery by any means, but interesting to me.
  4. Things are gonna change!

  5. That will be interesting. This is 100% guaranteed RS recast. Take it or leave it. It's a free for all out there nowadays and no one will care if you buy it or not. It will be accepted just like all the rest are.
  6. The RS holster is not designed to fit an E-11 blaster, so I don't know if it will affect EIB/Centurion awards. While it is a screen accurate holster, it was designed for the Death Star/Imperial Fleet Troopers who I believe used a DH-17 blaster. Wait until one of the staff replies before attaching it to your belt.
  7. Mr. No Stripes wasn't a mistake. He was planned (don't hurt his feelings)
  8. Ideally they could be higher, but they almost match this original ROTJ helmet.
  9. Good job on those boots Arturo. This is the kind of attention I like to see going on in a build thread My latest pair of original Stuart boots has an extra layer added to the base of the sole and looks very much like your boots. Well done!
  10. E6000 will work fine and I have never noticed any odour once the glue has cured. You could always splash some of your favourite cologne inside your helmet if you are concered about any unpleasant smells.
  11. Luke is the only one to wear the grappling hook box and communicator, so not all hero armours have them. They don't all have extra rivets holding their holsters either. There are many variations of troopers in ANH so it is not easy to say you should have this or that, unless you are trying to replicate any particular trooper. It's easier to just get yourself a hero helmet and build your armour just like any other. There is no difference between the armour in ANH. Only Han and Luke got special treatment. Other hero helmets wearers in ANH are just regular troopers.
  12. Just cut it across the line that seperates the kidney from the butt (assuming it has a line). Which armour do you have?
  13. Just saying what I think. This is a discussion forum after all. Sometimes people don't always agree on things so don't go running off like a child just because something negative is said. Now, if you are not the recaster, you know they guy who is and you are helping him by asking all these questions, and the guys replying to your questions are just as quilty. You may or may not be doing this intentionally, but I have seen this all before. Asking all these kinds of questions to help make a product better. If you are a casual buyer then you buy what is on offer. The helmet in question is a CAP or a recast of a CAP. If you want anything else identifying, just let me know.
  14. Looking forward to 2013.

  15. I thought the belt would have pulled in the kidney. Plastic usually bends when you force it. Just to point out that your belt should be more or less in the middle of your kidney plate where it closes at the back. I see people trying to have their belts level with the ground but they are not like that. The belts start off just under your ab buttons and slant upwards on the original Stormtrooper armour, so positioning your belt this way might help. Also, taking off some of the return edge should make the kidney more flexible and allow it to curve with the help of your belt. If all that fails then it's out with the heat gun
  16. Have you tried wearing your belt to see if the kidney plates tightens up? I wouldn't worry about the flare until you are suited up properly with your belt on. Your belt shouId tighten things up. I think your kidney might push out your ab plate now with the tabs fitted.
  17. This is a good one too: http://www.whitearmor.net/forum/topic/19340-tms-anh-hero-buildtm/
  18. I go for 1x large and 5x small ribs (taller troopers can leave less small ribs). You should really trim the border completely away on the front end of the strap. This allows it to contour better to the shape of the chest when you clamp and glue it in place.
  19. Sounds just like mine. Hope to make a start on my build up in the new year (been saying that for too long).
  20. You would have to trim a bit off each piece until it fits you. The chest looks oversized to start with so you could take a few inches from that. The rest would just need a bit off wherever it was too big on your body.
  21. Yeah, just trim it down a bit. It's the best you are going to find for your size and the price is good too.
  22. Here you go -http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Stormtrooper-Armour-Costume-Child-Size-ABS-Plastic-Star-Wars-/140890117780?pt=UK_Clothes_Children_sFancyDress_RL&hash=item20cdb49694 One on ebay now. Link no longer active.
  23. So far, so good! The side gap isn't too bad. Personally, I don't have a problem with a bit of a gap there. It's not like every inch of your body is covered with armour so I don't see why a bit of a gap at your waist is an issue. Shims look naff - gaps don't
  24. You can leave a very small return edge if you want or trim it away completely. I don't know if an edge is specified for Centurion or not, but the movie suits didn't have them.
