  1. I have a few pairs ready to ship
  2. Since I have not handled this armour I cannot say how good or bad the plastic is. I know a lot of people worry about thin plastic and as long as it is flexible, it should be fine. I prefer my 1.5mm flexible ABS over my rigid 2mm ABS any day of the week, but that is just my preference. With regards to the kidney plate edges being paper thin, that is down to the shape of the part. The plastic does thin down quite a lot in this area, but I read that Anovos was supposed to be using two different gauges of ABS to cope with larger and smaller parts?
  3. The original ANH kidney plate has a deep curve on the left hand side only. ------------ The original ANH biceps are not as curved as the Anovos but do match the biceps of the armour it was cast from.
  4. The Velcro is not the problem. The problem is there is not enough contact for the Velcro to hold because the belts are so short in length. Instead of having a good 3"-4" contact area, you are lucky to get 0.5"-1" if I am reading this right?
  5. A good length for the belt is 45" long. This is measured around the waist of the armour and allowing a 4" overlap at the back. I believe the original ANH belt owned by RS was roughly 41" but there is no reason to make their replicas so short.
  6. Who did you get your armour from? Better to get it from him since you have already paid for it. I can supply you with enough trim for the torso if you cannot find any locally.
  7. That is good to know I really do not understand the need to over engineer things. The CRL's are a guideline to aim for but I believe there should be some leeway for people who do not fit into the movie-sized suits. It often annoys me when I read some comments in the EIB or Centurion applications when someone needs to modify a perfectly good set of armour when there really is no need. Accuracy is what we all want but when you are not the perfect size for the armour, do the best you can and be happy. Fretting over minor details takes the fun out of the game.
  8. I cannot believe this! Are the rules really so petty? Seriously, if it was not bad enough before when people with armour that did not have the notch feature had to cut them out so the notch did not line up with the butt plate and looked awful (in my opinion), now you are going to the opposite extreme. Just leave the new kidney plate as is and trim to however wide you need. Why make things complicated? Rant over
  9. Every piece of armour and helmets are different from ANH to ROTJ. Not massively, but different. Here is a TM ANH and a TM ROTJ.
  10. Is this the same kit? ----------
  11. TM Junior kits are also available.
  12. There are other options available. This one looks quite good.
  13. TM armour with XL shins. 6'6" 230lbs.
  14. I remember seeing bolts glued inside the ears on someone's ROTJ helmet once. The tighter the fit you trim the ears, the better they will fit. Might sound obvious but the less they need pulling into the helmet, the better.
  15. Congratulations Rui Great job on the armour
  16. Glue and clamps are your friends
  17. Just want to point out in case others follow (no affect on submission) but you assembled your shins using both outer parts for one leg and both inner parts for the other.
  18. I am not familiar with this armour. It is definitely not from LFL/ILM and is not one of common fan made kits either.
  19. Yes, I think this is probably quite an old photo from when the 1997 Special Edition was made.
  20. That's because they are based on ROTJ suits. Nice photo. I never get tired of seeing this kind of stuff.
  21. The thighs are low but that may be because they are not pulled up enough or they too tight and cannot come up any more. I would add a temporary shim in the back to make them wider.
  22. All done and dusted
  23. That is definitely not the same armour Anovos showed earlier when those two guys built the black kit. This one shows all the signs of being cast from an AP where the black kit was cast from an RS. More photos of this particular suit will help identify all the parts as it is possible it came from several sources (if anyone is really interested?)
