  1. See how it goes but I think you will feel like a robot in your armour. It will not flow and will be even more cumbersome to wear. I honestly do not know how people cope when they use webbing to strap their armour.
  2. Those parts are the outer halves together from here. What you have to understand is that the outer halves on the original ANH armour are not identical, mirror images of each other. The inner halves really swoop inwards from the shin bone and bulge out towards the calf muscle. No matter how the Anovos legs might feel, the fact remains that the modified parts should be used as the inner halves since the unmodified parts are the correct outer halves. Here are some photos to show how the original parts should look and maybe you can familiarise yourself with the curves. Right leg with correct parts. Right leg made with outer parts and left leg made with inner parts.
  3. Yes. We all know that Anovos is a recast of RS and the original RS armour has shins made up of two outer halves for both legs, meaning they are identical no matter which leg you put them on. Rob reshaped a two halves to try and make them look like the missing inner halves and these modified parts are actually the longer parts you are using for the outer halves instead of the unmodified, shorter parts that are the outer halves. As I said earlier, there is no point using the original LFL armour as reference because not even the RS matches up - never mind the Anovos. Let me know if you need more help
  4. Good old masking tape has worked for me over the years
  5. I just checked this out and a #6 machine screw still works out a 9/64 so again, too big
  6. Yes, M3.5 brass machine screws. I believe the original RS helmet had 25mm and 16mm long screws.
  7. Forget looking at original parts. The Anovos kit was not cast from any original parts.
  8. Webbing is not the best material to use on armour. It does not allow the armour to move on your body so when you stretch, expect the snaps to pop or worst 'crack'. Elastic is the best material to use
  9. My inch fractions are not very good but I believe 6/32 is the same as 3/16 which is roughly 4.7mm. The actual size of the brass screws are 3.5mm which is approximately 9/64.
  10. On the original ANH they are but not on the Anovos kit. The longer parts are the inner halves
  11. Okay, the parts want to be loose on your body so make sure when you test fit that they slide up and down your arm freely. Tape them together and double check the size before you cut anything, making sure you can get your hands through the wrist opening. The tapered gap is irrelevant since the plastic will simply bend to wherever you want it to go when gluing the parts together. The priority is getting your hands through the opening and keeping them loose
  12. Are you saying the forearm is not big enough or that the joints are not straight? When trimming anything, you should always test fit before you trim too far. I know the ideal size of the joining strips is 15mm but it is not imperative. Use 20mm if you need to make the parts wider and it is not a problem having a small gap under the joining strips.
  13. Button plates on the abdomen need more trimming. There are no return edges on those parts.
  14. I believe the CFO shins are identical for both legs so you cannot get them wrong Just make sure you assemble them with the overlap the opposite way to the other leg and you will be fine. Also, test fit with your boots on and do not worry too much about trimming the return edge. You do not 'need' to have a return edge and I would not go as far as to buy a new one just because you trimmed it away
  15. What happened here? I thought that AP had made the kidney plate more accurate? It looks like it still needs a lot more work to me.
  16. Way too thick!
  17. I know who my money is going on Seriously, do you think I am pulling your leg? Do you think I am going out of my way to mislead you? Maybe I am wasting my time with this forum.
  18. Here is a photo of the original RS owned LFL shins. You can clearly see they are made up of two outer halves. When RS made their kits, they altered then shins to make them look like they had inner parts (even though they did not do a very good job to mimic the original parts) so now Anovos has those same altered parts which are longer and have a more pronounced calf muscle shape.
  19. Here are a few photos of original ROTJ helmets I posted in another thread to show the eyes are trimmed out quite a lot more than most people are used to when it comes to building ROTJ helmets.
  20. You have assembled the shins correctly but they are laid out for the wrong legs in the this photo. The longer parts are the inner halves and the shorter parts and the outer halves.
  21. Shins are on the wrong legs.
  22. And the suit looks pretty good too
