  1. The ANH Hero is a TM and probably 2mm acrylic capped ABS. That has a wet look gloss to it with no buffing necessary.
  2. This thread has been a waste of time. Until photos of the parts unique to RS are shown next to an Anovos kit then there is no point speculating. The proof is out there that can slam the lid closed on this case.
  3. Yes. I have photos of the fibreglass moulds and do side-by-side comparisons of the parts.
  4. Any updates on this or more photos of the kit to show?
  5. TM shoulder straps don't come with the inaccurate big tab at the rear nor are they too long that they need the length trimming down
  6. I always trim them like this when I assemble a suit. It's how the movie suits were done.
  7. I believe CFO bought fibreglass moulds taken from the outside of one of Cameron's modified armour so they did not touch the original armour (which is an ESB MKII - not ROTJ). Mark cast them and cleaned up/altered/modified/whatever to make them into what you see today which is a far cry from the original design (from a hard-core accurate POV) Going back to the original topic in hand, we need side-by-side photos of the sculpted and donated parts of the RS and Anovos to show that they are the same (albeit cleaned up on the Anovos). No doubt the entire RS suit was used as a base for their armour and those who say this is different or that is different just don't seem to be able to see that the parts have been cleaned up or modified in the same way the helmet has with it's dodgy looking eyes. Just because they are not identical doesn't mean the base shape is not the same even though alterations have been made.
  8. Good effort but the naysayers will argue they can from any source. The things we need to compare are the parts I donated and the parts Rob sculpted: -Left forearm -Left bicep -Shoulder straps -Knee plate -Hand plates -Ab buttons
  9. Also, I don't believe you know what recasting is. Sure, the parts are not exact copies of the RS but that is because the parts have been overly cleaned up. The fact that they backfilled RS armour to make their moulds and clean them up is still recasting regardless if they are cleaned up or not.
  10. How can you say that? How can Anovos and NE share the same parts Rob sculpted? Please explain how this is possible because these parts are unique to RS.
  11. Side by side comparison? Really? I see no side by side photos - especially of the sculpted parts Rob made and the parts I donated that are the nails in the coffin. You have to do a lot better than that, Vern. Come on, show us the parts side by side. That means, you put an RS part right next to the matching part of an Anovos kit - not photographed from another angle.
  12. A small price to pay. Much better than having those big gaps.
  13. Anything except the OT armour is bad armour Regardless of the reasons for making this 'hideous' new armour (Yes, I think it's disgusting and an insult to the original ANH armour) it looks like a bad, half-an impolite person attempt at making armour. When I first saw the leaked photos I thought it was a fan film because the armour looked so bad. The strapping looks like it came from a 90's FX when no one knew any better. The whole thing is just so disappointing for me.
  14. Do things your way. If the 'powers that be' don't like it, tough. It's your armour, do as you please. I bet there are still FX wearers in your garrison blissfully trooping away. Have fun, be happy
  15. I totally agree with you, Thomas. It makes me laugh when I read how people think the 501st should be consulted by Disney or LFL. It's their movie - either like it or loath it. I think Rogue One looks much better than TFA which I have only seen once and do not care to see it again. The TFA armour is so bad in my eyes and film was so predictable. I just hope I can overlook the eyesore of stormtrooper armour in RO and enjoy the movie.
  16. Vern, You never cease to amaze me! How you can build all this armour while being blind as a bat is quite amazing. Congratulations
  17. If you cannot see the similarities, there is no point in even trying to convince you.
  18. Most of the troopers in ANH were quite short, actually. Of all the trooper actors from ANH that I have met (and those I have not but others have met) are maybe 5'8" or less. I know they have shrunk over the years but really look closely when watching ANH and armour on the actors is not stretched out - unlike on Harrison Ford who was 6' tall in his prime.
  19. Are you joking? FX is very different from an RS. Anovos is a sharpened up copy - either recast or scanned, sae with the helmet. With comments like these it proves you do not have an eye for detail.
  20. That is who I am referring to. -----------
  21. Maybe they never sewn every hole drilled into the hand plates? Why is it so important to you?
  22. No. He is holding his helmet with his blaster resting inside it like the guy next to him, if you look closer.
  23. I am not sure how long they are on the Anovos but I can measure a pair of mine later. I might add that I have made new shoulder straps moulds since donating them to RS so they will be slightly different.
