1. Great job!!! what detonator is that? it's not a AP DT Mark (AP)
2. Yes probably too much soap, just a tiny tiny drop. Mark (AP)
3. For the decals, just put water in a small bowl with 1/2 a drop dishwashing soap and stir, dip your decal completely in the water and wet surface were decals goes, no worries of putting too much water its never too much and it won't affect the glue on decals, apply decal and starting from center with your thumb rub and push water towards extremities, do it a few time to make sure all water is came out for a perfect bubble/wrinkle free finish, if not satisfied slowly peel off decal and start over it will glue on again just work at it. Its very easy not sure why people are having so much trouble, well maybe its very easy for me since I'm a experienced model kit builder which is actually my passion not costume making lol! so applying decals and painting those big simple details on helmets is easy for me. Mark (AP)
4. Aaron, Thank you for the nice words greatly appreciated! Mark (AP)
5. why did you drill new holes? using the premarked holes everything lines up pretty good.
6. AP's helmets available in untrimmed kit, fully trimmed or ready to wear! includes everything for centurion approval.
7. Great job on the painted buttons!!! Mark (AP)
8. Return edge is actually pretty deep under chest, way more than only 1-2 mm, big enough to be able to mount hooks with nuts and bolts like originals had, same for upper Ab, back, kidney and butt plate which also had the hooks with nuts/bolts mounted on them. Mark (AP)
9. Awesome thanks for sharing!!! Mark (AP)
10. To be totally accurate the hero helmets didn't have a bumpy caps and your eye slots need to be trimmed more
11. That Elmers spray glue is crap just return it and get the 3M super 77 brand at home depot for a few dollars more and a much bigger can, trust me it doesn't compare you will just waste your time, I experienced it first hand when I tried to cheap out when I ran out of the 3M, the foam in all helmets just started to fall off after a few hours, same with some paper glued on a box, real crappy stuff!!! Mark (AP)
12. Those 6/32 screws look SO MUCH BETTER!!! Not sure why Anovos come with those weird looking screws. Mark (AP)
13. Angie Thanks for posting the ear screws photos, it's hard to get them to sit 100% flush they tend to always sit at angle, every single helmet I built the screws never sit 100% flush even though I make a bigger taper but it does help trick the eye since they sit deeper in slot. For the darker thicker lens I used automotive 3M mounting tape, its grey with the red peel off backing available at Canadian Tire, I got the lens from trooperbay which is also a one strip that goes across both eye sockets, I installed it exactly like my original lens strip but using the 3M tape instead and worked great. Mark (AP)
14. Donald Duck always pops when I see those helmets, what a horrible design! the tie pilots on the other hand look really cool. Mark (AP)
15. Happy to see you received your built helmet in one piece The punch hole is not really necessary there's no stress in that area, can you please post a closeup photo showing ear screws with the bigger taper? Mark (AP)
16. FANTASTIC JOB it fits you like a glove! I just rough trim the hand plates off the ABS sheet since most customers upgrade for the rubber ones, you need to remove a lot more material all around. Mark (AP)
17. So sorry to hear RIP Jenny
18. wow that was fast
19. I have seen many armors and helmets made from thinner plastic than what I use and details were not as sharp as mine, if you don't have the proper equipment or knowledge in thermoforming the lost of details and overall forming quality will be obvious. Mark (AP)
20. You can cut out arch bigger on the inner forearm part for a better fit. Mark (AP)
21. Super clean job! The original suit were very thin almost half the thickness of my suits so it was easier to flex and line up all the parts using the cover strips, plastic being thicker there's less give therefore harder to align ect... I have a test suit made of .50 gauge plastic almost like original and the leg assembly was much much easier. Mark (AP)
22. AP soft details really!!!! not sure were that comes from, remember I use .80 gauge ABS and this is as sharp pulls you can get using .80 gauge, most makers use .60 gauge which is much thinner, of course I can also use .60 which is actually cheaper to buy and easier to form but then will compromise durability, take into concideration that .80 gauge plastic after forming will thin down to approx .60 gauge, using .60 gauge plastic will thin down to approx. .40 gauge which is pretty thin, after many test pulls we settled with .80 gauge ABS which gives you the best of both worlds --------------
23. Here's actual measurements of the new AB and kidney plate, will wrap around anyone over 40" waist without shimming or trim to original movie size or custom trim to your exact needs.
24. I read too fast, what confused me is he wrote OLD EFX LOL!
