  1. By getting a pretrimmed kit you still will save a lot of time and risk of errors if you don't feel comfortable doing it yourself, you will only need to trim off extra material on the top of thighs and bottom of shins and maybe forearms 90% of the trimming is done for you. Mark (AP)
  2. AP and ATA come from same source so both are pretty much the same size, the AP you can custom fit to your waist size perfectly without shimming;)
  3. You removed way too much material on the hook section of the ears throwing off the helmet look, no movie helmets had thin ears like that. Here's how properly trimmed ears should look, and do not trim any bigger the frown holes they are at their limit! If you need replacement ears let me know I can even trim them for you Mark (AP)
  4. This is a different ball game compared to a classic trooper build, way more complex and finish work required, good luck with the build!
  5. you don't need return edge on neck area, what you see its just a marking I did on my mold as a guide were to trim
  6. Theres no 2 troopers that had same shape tube stripes so I think your good. Mark (AP)
  7. looking good, just use the premarked holes for assembly and all will fit nicely, no clamps needed everything lines up. Mark (AP)
  8. All those anomalies are normal and also present on the original movie helmets. WHY YOU GAP top left ear have exact same gap on movie helmets, people tend to get carried away and correct things they shouldn't. Do not remove material on top round section of ear, you can remove a bit more on hook section to minimize gap but the back side of the right ear is difficult to get completely flush again like the movie original. Here's some original screen used helmets to prove it, as you can see all gaps match my helmet, actually some original helmets have even bigger gaps, these are very assymetrical helmets parts won't fit perfect.
  9. no need to heat and modify the shoulder bells, the problem are the biceps which are too big.
  10. B goes on your left A on your right
  11. That not a ANH hero build you mean a Stunt build, your bicep parts are way too big, trim them down to fight tighter around your biceps, and its best to glue the shoulder strap on chest, there' s many adjustment still to be made on your costume. Good luck!
  12. the only way for super high gloss is base coat /clear coat automotive style, it's hard to get a high gloss finish from spray can, or try a high gloss clear coat over your white color not Krylon, try acrylic future floor polish yes that's right its used in the model kit world . google it up
  13. you mean Mark (AP) no paint will match perfect, aren't your shims white abs?
  14. Congratulations!!! Use as many reference photos as possible and take your time, don't overtrim parts, many do the mistake of over trimming the ab button plates and shoulder straps, you have to leave approx. 1/8" lip all around, most parts can be trimmed from the inside, like the belt, ammo knee, extremeties of forearms, biceps ect... Mark (AP)
  15. To be honest its totally inaccurate and weird looking, not sure how much you paid but I'm sure you could have had a much better helmet for same price, and another reason not to by fiberglass you drop it and it will crack in your case it cracked during shipping vacuumformed ABS helmet are more solid and more comfortable to wear than fiberglass. Mark (AP)
  16. I think your still safe, I've seen some completely trim off the lip.
  17. If its a EFX/Master replica ect.. there's no wonkiness because it was completely idealized.
  18. Actually the right shoulder strap is more accurate, you removed too much material on the left one.
  19. Coming along great good job!!!! Mark (AP)
  20. The helmet is not 501 st approvable, and armor will need major mods to look acceptable, long story short the amount of time an money to make this approvable its best to get a new approved kit. Mark (AP)
  21. great job so far! you need to remove padding your helmet is sitting too high
  22. The best Hero helmet I've seen so far it's Gino's he nailed it perfect!!! Mark (AP)
  23. I still see too much material around inside eye sockets, you should barely see any return edges on the hero helmets. http://www.starwarshelmets.com/2007/ANH_HD_Hero10_Luke.jpg http://www.starwarshelmets.com/2007/whole%20hero%20helm2.jpg Mark (AP)
