  1. Woweee! I would someday love to do a set. Perhaps after I finish an R2. Looks so amazing. Did the ab piece come with the snaps Pre installed like that? You mentioned perhaps not seriously trooping in it. Are you doing it for display only?
  2. Thanks so much, Mathias. And yes, a new thermal detonator, absolutely. Long live the FISD!
  3. Wow, thanks so much, Gentlemen! I am so very honored and excited to be considered "Expert"! I had so much help from so many members here, too many to list, but without the FISD, I would not be trooping today. Many, many thanks. While I've got the microphone, can you suggest what steps I'd need to take to consider Centurion? Obviously the chest armor would need to be replaced, probably the back too. The gloves and handplates also. But what else? I'd appreciate some constructive criticism to make this costume even better. Any thoughts or suggestions?

  5. Ahh, the days of blue tape. Memories... Looks like you're off to a good start. Not that I'm an expert, but I noticed you are going for the same kit and helmet combo that I did, so I'll offer my build thread: http://www.whitearmor.net/forum/index.php?showtopic=16446&hl=hedji%26%2339%3Bs&fromsearch=1
  6. I have a Hyperfirm E-11, and I'd like to add a D Ring to it. I ordered a D Ring from Trooperbay, but the ring is a closed loop, and it looks like it would be difficult to attach to the Hyperfirm. Has anyone here done this mod, and can you share some insight on how to do it? I was thinking I'd just drill a hole straight through the rubber block on the back and thread both ends of th e D Ring through, but this one from Trooperbay is solid, and unmaleable. Any thoughts?
  7. Thanks for the suggestions. A friend in my Garrison helped me with some choices. He either suggested re-bending the mic headpiece wire so it was more conforming to the back of my head, or (the option we went with), I velcroed the headset into my bucket and I am using the Memorex wireless transmitter. What really helped with the transmitter was breaking it open and redistributing the components of the circuit and velcroing it into the helmet. That way it takes up less space.
  8. I'm trying to find a solution for a problem with my microphone. It is an over the ear mic that came with my Aker/iComm. When I put my helmet on, my ears get smushed down and the mic falls off. It's a big mess. Would a balacava help with this, or is that primarily for long haired TKs? Right now, the solution I have is to velcro the mic right into the helmet, but that makes removal of the helmet difficult because of the wire hanging out. I do have the wireless transmitter I can put into the helmet, but that adds more weight and gear and I can't seem to find a comfortable spot for it. Any thoughts from my fellow TKs?
  9. Here's a few cards I did back in 1999... May all of you have a Merry, Merry Christmas!!
  10. That's awesome! Congratulations, and I am totally envious, but I know you will do a great job on it.
  11. Hey, those are kinda cool.
  12. I'm looking to replace the S-Trim on my AP helmet. I got some of the S-Trim from Trooperbay. Not a knock against them (I love their service), but it split on me, didn't seem to want to stay on, and I'd like to try something a little different perhaps. Are there any other recommended sources of S-Trim available? Perhaps something wider to give it better grip and adhesion?
  13. I would love to build one of these myself! Just beautiful.
