  1. Actually you are wrong Paul.....I went back and looked at the 501st CRL just now and here is the official 501st requirements: Boots For 501st approval: White leather or leather-like, above ankle height, with a flat sole with a short heel, and small U-shaped elastic sections on both sides of the ankle with no buckles or laces. Jodhpur/Chelsea-type boots or an equivalent style is acceptable. Elvis or Mariachi boots are not allowed. It later goes on to read: For level three certification (if applicable): (This would be for Centurion level) There shall be no seam on the front of the boot (e.g. CABoots are not allowed). "The 501st approval requirements are listed in black. FISD Defines two additional, optional levels of costuming excellence: Expert Infantryman and Centurion. In the page below, requirements for Expert Infantryman are listed in blue. Centurion requirements are in red. Please visit the FISD web site for a full description of these standards." CABoots are not elvis boots (zipper) or Mariachi (weird pattern down the top of the foot)......No matter what...The Caboots Stormtrooper boot is going to be AWESOME in November!
  2. Hey guys. I was unaware that caboots were not even legion acceptable!! Seriously? I know that FISD has ruled them unworthy, but the entire legion??? Wow...All because of that little seam.... I have tried to work with TKboots but I cant even get a reply to my emails. SO.....I contacted Joey over at Caboots and have made arrangements with him to carry his complete line up. I am working with him to redesign the Stormtrooper boot completely. We should have an entirely NEW boot to reveal in November! I am also trying to get him to drop the price point if possible. Caboots are made in small batches so he has a hard time competing with China made TKboots. STAND BY!!!! Paul: Do you have a link to that CRL that specifically says that caboots are not acceptable?
  3. Wow! OK well I guess I have been wrong Now I know - Thanks dude!
  4. Really? Thats cool. Do you have a evidence of this? I would like to see it so I can change things if need be. Thanks
  5. I just added a note on the video about the ammo pack so I hope it helps
  6. Part 7 is now uploaded
  7. Nice to see good feedback The holsters are a bit slower as I have to hand make each one I make them in batches of 8 so far and I keeping up. - I have recently hired a helper too and I am hoping to hit the ground running for the holidays. - Mike
  8. I have modified the chest alot. I made the opening at the bottom sharper and flared the bottom sides out like the originals. Still a work in progress, but way better looking than TE/TE2.
  9. A safer bet would be 36 inch waist, but yes I made the ab plate deeper.
  10. I use white latex house paint on the elastic inside the armor and it looks great.
  11. That is soooooooo silly.....
  12. YAY!! Thank you
  13. I just received this PM from Paul. "Hi Mike, The knee plate does look very similar to my old version. Hard to say for sure since it is a photo of a mould and not a formed piece but I am not bothered if it is or not. You are more than welcome to use it if it is. Cheers, -Paul." Regarding the helmet. It had alot of bumps and lumps on the front originally. I have cleaned all that up to make the front smooth. I SUSPECT that its a TE2 recast but having never seen a CAP v1 I cannot say for sure. As noted in the helmet thread originally, Tony has given his blessing if the helmet is V2/ TE2 as far as I can tell.
  14. Yes I must apologize to Mathias. I had you confused with Mason. Very sorry for that
  15. Makes sense. I have modified it quite a bit, but if we can get TM to chime in here and verify if the knee is his or if my modifications are good enough to be called "new sculpt", that would be good. I am not opposed to resculpting if I need to. Update: I have sent a message to TM and asked him to look at the molds.
  16. Hmm. Good Question. I dont know the origins of the knee that I have. Assuming its a CAP knee then would it be a troopermaster knee? Here is a pic of my knee. The TD plate, Caps, Shoulder Straps, Belts, Drop Boxes, Ab plates are all new by me. Pics of the TD and my knee mold: As a side note: I had to redo the small squares and make the mold level or straight on the knee many times to get a good pull so the mold has been redone several times... Here are the other armor parts.
  17. Eric, Regarding TE2's permission: Here is an excerpt from Pauls post while we were discussing the lineage of my helmet. "I have a text message from TE2 saying he's OK with Mike proceeding." I am still searching for the email that I have from him. My computer crashed a while back and I had to buy a new one. I may have the email on disc somewhere and I will keep looking. If I cannot find it, then I will ask for his permission again. Regarding CAP's permission: Well here is the fun part isnt it?? CAP recasted the TE armor. He openly stated over and over that he didn't care if anyone recasted him. ( I am still looking for the threads). Terrel used this license as the bases of his permission and since it was OK for him, then it should be OK for me or anyone else. Also - CAP said HE had permission from TE to recast, which is arguable....but he did state that many times.. Lastly, it should be noted that there are already at least 2 Centurion MTK troopers right here on FISD and another 2 Deployed and one pending SWAT on MEPD.
  18. Here is what it looks like assembled in the TD configuration as well as the TK. I have re sculpted the chest slightly since making the TK version. I am still not happy with it, but I am getting close.
  19. After discussing things with Mathias. I am revisiting this thread. Here are the pics of my molds. There is also a pic of the original CAP molds that I used for my armor base. These pics were taken in March of 2012. Some molds have been even more modified since. The butt has been reshaped as many parts have due to the CAP molds being badly warped. This thread should be moved to the Foundry. Armor source: CAP armor TE recast Modifications: Reshaped and added detail to cap n back Tried to leave faceplate untouched but did have to resculpt a few details back in Deepened and reshaped Shoulder bells Reconfigured Chest Straightened Back Added ANH details Ab Plate Deepened Thighs Straightened Shins Deepened Biceps added depth to right forearm Curved Shoulder straps Made new Belt Added new Drop boxes and Inner Drop Boxes Over all resculpted many details back into molds that were lost from multiple recasts (other people)
  20. There are lots of African Americans in the 501st legion. I agree with everything else you said
  21. I wish I still had the PM's. Thats the WHOLE reason I quit FISD over a year ago and only recently came back. If I post my armor will you say here and now that it will not be deleted?
