  1. Now since the ears were already trimmed we can skip that step. Ah, feels nice... But I notice that the ear does not fit exactly as I want to. It needs to be slanted a bit further back. I mark the cap with a pencil where extra material needs to be taken off.
  2. Once everything is lined up I can drill new holes and rivet the cap to the face. Looking good!
  3. I grab a couple of clips and line everything up the way I want nice and even.
  4. Now its time to mount this bad boy to the cap n back. Draw a straight line from the edge of the eyes up on both sides like this...
  5. Now that the eyes are done I am on to the teeth. Using a small exacto knife I cut just the tips off the teeth from the back. Then I trim from the back while looking at the front, and cut the teeth again, using the exacto knife, to their final shape.
  6. Now its time to trim out the eyes and teeth. Using a pencil I make rough guidelines to follow for both the eyes and teeth. There are several ways you can do them. You can pre-drill out the larger areas and then use an exacto blade or file to finish it up. I have decided to score the outside of the eyes here until I can just pop out the plastic easily. After that I use the exacto knife to clean the holes up. Then I sand the holes out to the final shape.
  7. First off, Happy Fathers Day!!! I had a blast today with the wife and kids To pick up where we left off. As you can see the areas are repaired and we will need to use glazing putty to smooth things out.
  8. I dont think we are talking about the same thing. I will see if I can find a pic of the mattisdead guys helmet from the underside. NO MATTER WHAT, trust me.....you do not want the mattisdead helmet from ebay. You will be heavily disappointed.
  9. And thats it for now. This will need to set for an hour or so. The "mini fiberglass method" works REALLY insanely well. I have NEVER EVER had anything break after doing this. Its hardly noticable as well as being very light too.
  10. Now I am going to do the sides with the webbing cracks..
  11. Take a patch about the size of the crack and put it directly down on the super glue. Put some more super glue on the patch until its completely saturated. Use your latex finger to smear and tap the glue into the fibers of the patch. Do this gently.
  12. Now comes the "fun" part. Put on the latex gloves and take the super glue out. Run a small bead of super glue along the line of the crack like so...
  13. Now I am going to tape the side of the tubes where the webbing ocurred. ..
  14. I am taping the crack under the chin first across, to pull the plastic back together. Then lengthwise to hold the general shape.
  15. Now I am going to trim off some of the pillow case to make my "mini fiberglassing patches"....
  16. Before I get started, I am going to trim off the un-needed plastic...
  17. Here are the cracks that will need repairing..
  18. Tonight I am going to repair the cracked faceplate that was donated. When I get done it will be stronger than new. For this I will need scissors, an old pillow case, super glue, painters or duct tape, and some exam latex gloves.
  19. Here's what Mark sent me. He says its screen accurate. Not completely (IMO) but its a quality job for sure. $45.00 plus shipping. authenticprops@hotmail.com
  20. Tony has very graciously donated a nice faceplate. Soon I will be uploading pics of the assembly
  21. I just contacted Mark about his holsters. Hopefully he will have some pics for me to post soon. Mike
