  5. Oh man Nate, Earthquakes and Floods are one thing but Nukes??? Man I would have to take off right now if I was ANYWHERE near that stuff. Are we talking like Chernobyl level stuff here? Nobody went back to Chernobyl.
  6. AH Nate I woke up in the middle of the night last night worried about you guys!! I almost posted an inquiry at 1:38 am! Glad to hear you are OK. From the US Japan looks to be in ruins! Unbelieveable how things just got swept away like they show in the news. Just horrific.
  7. I am constantly surprised at the length of time some packages take. Also notice that alot of stuff goes missing at certain times. Christmas is a nightmare. The postal service here in America is weak, but some other countries are even worse. On my hate list are: Mexico, Spain, Denmark, Brunei, China. These always take a while. UK is really bad around Christmas and "boxing day" or "bankers day". I ordered some trim from sealsdirect and it took 5 weeks to get here "expidited" at christmas. Made no difference at all. Here in the US postage is going up in April and Priority went up again in January. But, on the bright side MOST of my stuff goes through with no problems and even customs stuff is breazy.
  8. Both paints are good quality and wont chip. VT has hero helmets, but he rarely offers them.
  9. Its easy with the masking templates. I prefer Humbrol because the paint matches my decals flows good and because I sell it The french blue is a good match for the tubestripes. BUT, the testors brand dries faster and looks just as nice. Humbrols just my preference.
  10. I cant tell you what TE2 charges now for a helmet set. I think its probably in the $2-300.00 range - maybe? Styrene is the most used material for these helmets. Its easy to get very sharp details with styrene but its tearing and breaking points are very low. Its a great product for display and some trooping. you can make an 1/8 inch faceplate and still get great detail with styrene. You have to paint it though which sucks. ABS is much harder to get detail from because of its resilience. It does not want to conform to any shape when vacuumforming so industrial measures have to be taken to get good results. Usually this means a vacuum pump and a better set up. The old CAP helmets were all styrene. The VT molds are the old CAP molds so if he were to do them in styrene they would be very sharp. VT has never used styrene however as far as I know.
  11. Yep That TE is NOT a good representation of the TE lineage. Looks like a TE recast. Here is a TE2 - NO FINER HELMET MADE IMO And remember that almost ALL helmets are born from TE or TE2. If they have even more detail its because they were altered to be sharper. The TE2 has had minimal if any sharpening and its as close as you are gonna get to the real deal. -Unless you can get ahold of a Gino which is almost the same lid, - he wants I think $3-400.00 for a kit. Not sure. ------- ---------
  12. Thanks. Yeah I thought about doing a DVD, but youtube is easier, plus its free. With a DVD I'd have to charge $$.

  15. YAY!!!! YOU ARE AWESOME PAUL!!!! WOOT!!! WOOT!!!
  16. Well he needs to come down from his mountain I guess. If you are slinging it you should be able to catch it. I wasnt aware that he has been slamming your stuff. Everytime I see a thread going bad anymore I unsubscribe so I guess I dont get the details that transpire later....Which is what I should have done here I was interested in Ginos project just like I am everyones. I love to see the art of it all. My bad. I will find the door now :)You guys go about your business
  17. OK so its not cast from a screen used Tie helmet... Gino's work is still awesome. I aint defending the guy, I am just saying that it looks great. What if the helmet is cast from a real air force helmet and the faceplate comes from a recast of the brian r helmet. Thats cast from an original right? Its a play on words to be sure, but still true. I have said it before and I will say it again. There is no such thing as an untouched casting of the original. Thats a myth. The vacuum forming results would be terrible. All the armor, helmets etc.. have been reworked. Even the "set for stun" scan was reworked and sharpened by Laws. Theres a pic on his site of him with a sculpting tool in his hand. lol... What I am saying is that all the hoopla over details is not needed. You cant make an exact copy of an original anyway...No matter who you are. So if it touched the inside of a screen used helmet or is a first generation whatever...its still been F'd with. If anyone denies THAT, then they are misleading you for sure. I like your work Gino.
  18. Nice collections
  19. Dont you guys have paint thinner?? Thats what you clean model paint brushes with.
  20. Excellent work Gino.If you get me the dimesions and design I can do the decals for ya.
