  5. I "think" that the variences in bumps in all the ANH and ESB helmets revovles around heat either on the bucks or the plastic getting too hot. I have not tried using HDPE but I hear its a huge pain and has a very small window of good opportunity. Once they changed the bucks and switched to ABS (Han and Luke Hero's) for the helmets those bumps were no more.
  6. Happy happy joy joy!!
  7. Besides SW what are some things in your career that we should know about you that you are proud of?
  8. well at least "view todays active content" works. I have had my browser set to IP board for months just for that.
  9. Only the ESB and ROTJ decals were silkscreened and THEN applied to the helmets. ANH helmets were all hand painted without stencils and used only masking tape as a guide, which is why the are all so different. Wanted to say too....if you paint sparingly and away from the masking templates instead of into the masking templates you will find minimal leakage.
  10. Its a masking vinyl. I actually have changed to an even thinner masking material that conforms to almost anything. You will see it when you get the new masking templates I am sending you.
  11. Are you still sending d-rings?
  12. Karin, I am willing to work something out with you if you want. Let me know.
  13. If you need new masking templates let me know and I will send you more.
  14. If you have small leaks around the stripes you can take a toothpick and lightly scratch off the leaks to make the edges of the stripes cleaner. If you use a q-tip and dip it in thinner then shake off the excess you can clean up the entire mess and it shouldnt mess with the cured Krylon. I have cleaned off alot of lids before with paint thinner used very sparingly. Just be careful. If you arent sure test it on the bottom side of the chin to see if it weill damage the paint.
  15. those are chips in the mold - just so you know. Over the years the teeth area has chipped and was not repaired.
  16. I have been using humbrol since 2005 and I dont think its changed.
  17. I remove the stencil after the paint has cured about 1/2 hour with humbrol. With testers I would wait 5 minutes. Just be careful how much paint you apply and how you remove the stencil. I usually pull them off at a 45 degree angle. Be slow and sure.
  18. I disagree that that testors is more accurate. Humbrol does take a day to dry usually. I also use it because it matches my decals perfectly too
  19. I am launching trooperbay.com soon.... http://trooperbay.com/
