  1. Thanks so much, Glen! Always appreciate the feedback. I made the very silly mistake of taking these photos today - a 43 degree (Celsius) day in Melbourne and my beloved photographer (wife) wasn't overly patient, so some of the pics were rushed. I think I edited most of the photobombing pics with my dog in the background, but had fixed a couple of those things in between takes - belt holding my thigh armour had come undone (easy fix) and I fixed the brow lump, but they didn't make the final cut. I have got V-tabs on the butt plate. They did make a big improvement, but not sure I can bring it any further in. It does sit a lot better/pretty close now. I'll adjust the strapping and see if that helps. The elastic on the drop boxes was the closest I could track down. It'd be within a couple of mm at most, so hopefully that's approvable. The drop boxes usually sit at the very edge, but can shuffle along sometimes. I probably have a photo of them sitting better/as they usually do. That was probably just me rushing/sweating, but the EIB pics confirm they should comply. The tube stripes were a pain when I applied them (all as one strip). My kit is an older WTF kit and is the 'lumpy-bumpy' variant, so I don't think that helped my case with the spacings, as it was basically impossible to conform at all points. I'll see if I can push those end caps down on the TD a few more mm. They are SO TIGHT - I hope I don't wreck them! Otherwise I'll see if i can slice a few mm off the centre plate and touch up the paint. I'll play around with my belt and get it sitting straighter. I will reposition that button cover. There is a good chance the whole belt was tilted by my wife when I was getting her to adjust the TD. Might have changed the angle, but I'll see if I can make it better. I do find it difficult to get it flat and square, while still sitting on/touching the AB plate. Not sure if it's the moulding, but that tends to leave a bit of a weird gap either side of the AB plate. Let me see what I can do. I'm pretty sure the lighting is causing those issues on the E-11 as there's no print lines visible in those spots highlighted - possibly brush lines from the weathering I did. The Hengstler Counter has a LOT of layers of paint and there might have been a couple of residual lines/odd layers. I'll give it a bit of a sand and spray. Thanks again for the feedback - I'll update my pics as I fix a few of these issues and hope for a cooler day for a reshoot! Cheers, Chris
  2. Hi Team, Please find below my request to be approved to Centurion for my ANH Stunt kit from WTF. It was only a few mm thick for comfort, but I do have a long neck, hence why it sits high. Tube Stripes: These are pencil width from the cheek. I’m not sure if the WTF kit has a softer angle or if there was some glare, but it’s definitely within 5-6mm of the cheeks and were placed with a pencil as a guide. Forearms scaled to wearer: I cut and shut both forearms. They fit and look much better now. I can only just get my hands through the openings, but it was worth it for the cleaner look. AB Plate painting: AB Plates have both been replaced and repainted. No return edge on small plate. Belt Positioning: Raised slightly to sit correctly TD Dimensions: Thermal Detonator has been cut down and repainted to meet specifications. No gap between the abdomen and kidney armour: Plates now touch. Drop Box Height: Elastic slightly stretched to give slight gap from bottom of belt Latex Hand Guards: A local member (Kris Hase – Knightfall Garrison) kindly manufactured and painted a set for me. These have been glued onto the correct black rubber gloves. Blaster touch up: Repainted and better images taken to reduce glare. Full Body: Front - Arms flat by side, no weapon Back – Arms flat by side (Shoulder bridges have been replaced and rear tabs removed) LHS RHS LHS Arm raised RHS Arm raised Action Shot Armor Details: Cod & Posterior Plate connections Shoulder Bridges Thigh Ammo Belt with Bifurcated rivets Sniper Knee Plate Wrist Openings Ab plates = Replaced and repainted Interior Strapping Split Rivet Side Connection Han Snap Helmet Details: Front Left Right – Please note, I’ve moved the Right Ear as far back as is possible. The previous owner drilled holes in the wrong position and damaged the helmet. The rear line of the lower section of the ear does follow the angle of the rear trap. I’m not 100% happy about this, but have tried and am unable to fix it unfortunately. The left ear is in the correct position and they do look symmetrical from the front and rear, thankfully. https://imgur.com/a/6u8GBBF Back Hovi Tips S-Trim Lenses Accessories: Neck Seal TD (Now trimmed down to correct length/proportions) Holster Attachment ABS / Canvas Belt Boots Rubber Gloves & Latex Handguards Blaster Details: Left Side Right Side D-Ring https://imgur.com/a/84BHgyZ If there's any other details/photos required, please let me know. 3. I can do mine myself - BUT sometimes (particularly for the photos she just LOVES taking ), I get her to do them up perfectly.
  4. Thanks so much - another TK in our garrison gave me the idea. Definitely helpful while getting started (this was my first ever kit/costume, so had HEAPS to learn). It gives you a bit of flexibility, especially once you start trooping. I think only one or twice have any of the strips come undone, but they are very easily fixed. That being said, I've recently bought some good quality snaps and am going to replace some of the velcro fixings. I find the shoulder bells do stretch a bit away from the bridges, so a firmer nylon and snaps should give it more rigidity. I'm sure I'll kick myself the first time I need to do up the snaps and can't reach them!
  5. Haha, thanks mate - I'll give that a crack. I am just about there with the final touches for lodging my Centurion application. I'll play around with the strapping and see what works best before doing anything drastic like cutting out beer and chocolate! For the DO team, here's the IOU hard guards that a local member kindly manufactured for me. They're now glued and ready for some photos! Cheers
  6. Thanks for that, Glen - I haven't had much luck tracking down the Testors in Aus. The Dark Admiralty Grey I have now is quite a bit darker than any of the greys shown in the CRL or reference images. The previous paint that was on parts of my kit (started by a previous member) match PERFECTLY to the Dave M Decals I had, so that looks to be the right shade. Might hit up a few garrison members locally to "borrow" some of theirs or trade for some other colours to get those bits done. Cheers
  7. Hi Team, requesting my EIB certificate please Chris Nicholls TK70384 EIB A4 Mario https://www.whitearmor.net/eib/certificates/70384-eib.png Here you go Chris.
  8. Just to piggyback off this - I have a related question. Humbrol's #5 Dark Admiral Grey Gloss seems to have changed in recent times. I went to touch up some things and it's two totally different shades. Is there a substitute colour you'd recommend? I'm keen to replace all the sticker decals and paint the tears/traps, but mindful the new #5 looks way too dark. I'd been told I could mix some white in with it, but worry it'll be hard to maintain consistency and would rather do it right if there's an alternative. Thanks!
  9. Thanks so much! Love it. I was sweating on approval to snag that 1084 position to align with my TKID - born in 84, so that's a nice little tie in!
  10. Thank you SO much - that was awesome news to wake up to! I will definitely get to work on those final issues before hopefully pushing for Centurion. I have been studying previous L3 applications (and common feedback) and learning about some subtle things I needed to change, so have been chipping away at them in the background in anticipation of that feedback. I'd forgotten to mention I have a long neck and a relatively large head - there's no padding in the helmet in those pics, so way to make me feel self conscious! I can't do a whole lot about that one, unfortunately. I'll just shrug my shoulders a touch I hadn't realised the silicone hand guards were required for L2 when I lodged my application. I've had a set made and am picking them up next week, so that one is an easy fix. There's a pic of them included, but I didn't have them when I took my original photos. My T.D was originally too long when I lodged the application. I've since cut it down and repainted it during the application process and it looks a LOT better now. I'll give the elastic on the ammo boxes a bit of a tug to put a mm or two gap from the belt. Since removing all the return edge on my forearms, I did notice they are now a bit loose. I'll definitely cut and shut them to make them look better. Ab plates: painting and shaving - will do Easy! E-11 touch ups - piece of cake. Will do. I think the lighting was messing with the angles of the tube stripe photos. It's pretty much exactly a pencil width, but the curve in some lights makes it look a fair way off. I was shocked when I saw that, then double checked as I was sure I used a pencil as a guide when I placed them. Now - my BIG challenge. The dad bod! I'm torn - do I add in a 15mm shim on each side to allow me to close the ab plate to the kidney armour, OR do I stop eating so much chocolate and do some sit ups? I know what's easier, but I do REALLY like chocolate (and beer). I think for overall health, I'll just try to drop 2-3kgs and it should close for me. I really want to thank you all so much for your guidance and patience. This is my first ever attempt at any sort of costume and the whole community has been awesome and encouraging. I love being a part of it! Cheers - Chris
  11. Thanks John. Getting there slowly! Hmm - I'm not sure. The CRL only mentions the two power cylinders, but I'm sure I read somewhere the coils were an option, but the other greeblies from ESB & ROTJ wouldn't be accepted. Mine are removable, so happy to lose them
  12. Hi Mario - I've done some work on my E-11. Filled, sanded and repainted the sections showing 3D printing lines. I also followed some advice from a local garrison member and replaced the 3D printed D-ring with a link from a chain, that matches the overall dimensions perfectly (bonus point - it was already black!). I plan to do a tiny bit more weathering to disguise some imperfections, but wanted to show it in the fixed state. If there's any other pics/angles you need, please let me know. Thanks again.
  13. Oops - yes - updated my original post. Cheers
  14. Thanks for that, Mario! - I had already started fixing up those print lines on the E-11. NEARLY finished! I hadn't picked up the one on the end cap - good spotting! I'll fix that now. The vocoder just recently got a fresh coat of pain, as it had a few chips/scratches from trooping. Definitely all the one correct shade of black. That's just the reflection of my coffee table making it look two-tone. Here's a pic Thanks again!
