My 8 year old took it which is why I am kinda of looking down. Also for the fact this is the first time I have had everything on and as you all know it's an adjustment. I need to finagle the shins a bit still. And I think the right bicep came unsnapped. The biggest issue other than I don't have the fans in and it was steaming up, is some of the snaps keep coming unsnapped. I need to adjust how I am strapping on the thighs and get some suspenders for the belt. It will pass for my daughters halloween event this weekend. Next week I will start the submission process.

Oh and thanks for pointing out the shoulder snap. Didn't even notice! Thanks!

As always, thanks for the feedback. I did put some foam in both shins as they immediately started pointing to the left. I will make the left shin a smaller. I can't do too much at the top I don't think as my calf itself is apparently big. I will mess with it. I will look to tighten things up. While I am glad you pointed out the holster. I didn't notice it. I need to look at it and hope it was just an odd angle. Honestly not sure what to do to fix that.

FIRST - when I was putting on my suit, the arm came unsnapped and couldn't get it back on by myself. Ok - there is a small laundry list of items I need to fix Shoulder Bell - I think the strap is too loose. Now my shoulder also takes up about 1/2 of the bell. The chest armor - I need to shorten the strap here as well. The challenging I am facing is I am 6' 5. So in this picture the around the crotch the black suit is actually sitting lower than the suit. I had used an elastic strap just to add flexibility. But thinking I need the regular strap and make it a little shorter so the black suit isn't below the crotch. This will pull down the chest piece down about one inch. The right shin - this is a replacement to the one I made too small. I intentionally made this one a little larger, but I am think now, it's a little too large and just need to do a small adjustment. Thoughts? legs - the left leg came unsnapped, and I didn't realize it in this picture so the left legs is sitting a bit lower than it should. It's hard to tell in this pictures but the back plate is sitting about one inch away form my shoulder blade. I am thinking i need to shorter the elastic strap to pull it it a bit. Once I do that I can see how the bottom is sitting and making adjustments.

I haven't posted in about 10 days. But I have been working on it. Today I completed painting, the strapping and had to move some snaps that I am now waiting on the glue. I need to get some elastic for the hand guards tomorrow. And as long as it all looks ok, and I will post pics. Then I am done with the body. I am redoing part of the helmet as I realize that I made it too small for the electronics. That should be completed by the end of the weekend and then done! Until you all tell me where I messed up. Either way, I am excited to get more boxes check. I got my blaster in and I will need to build that. But I am sure it won't be as long as the trooper costume.

Are nice! Thank you!

Yeah, I am glad I asked cuz that's not how I would have interpreted that. I will have to take a look more at the pictures when I'm not on my phone. Appreciate it as always I'm going to owe you big time at the end of this! Haha! It is but maybe that's the universe telling me to slow down.

Can someone help me understand what this means? Sorry if that is a dumb question. Clearly I am confusing that with something else. This is from https://databank.501st.com/databank/Costuming:TK_anh_stunt A single male snap on the top right corner of the ab plate is present.

That sad moment when you are seeing the light at the end of the tunnel... and you get to start on snaps, only to realize you can't find the die that came with the pliers and have zero idea if you ever saw them. Tomorrows a new day and will run by the store to get snaps started.

Thanks Glen!

Thanks Kyle!

I am having trouble finding images of how the crotch should be. That look about right? I see my lines are a little off now that I have enlarged the photo, but those lines look about right? Also, looking at this post. Do most people reinforce their shoulder bridges?

That's actually not a bad idea. Since I may be getting replacements, I may try that just to practice.

Well, I figured it would happen at some point. I have messed up in two areas. Fortunately, I think Dave at Dave's Darkside Depot is going to be bailing me me. Thanks Dave! The big AB plate got cut too small. I thought it would fit in the molding. And of course, I couldn't find any clear pictures ( and those were someone else who did the same thing) until after I made the error. DOH! And... the left shin. I also cut this too small originally. I know, I know... measure 7 times, measure 2 more times, check with the FISD folks. Measure a few more times. Then maybe cut. I think tried to put shims in which initially I thought would work until I got to sanding the ABS paste and started seeing the seam. I did put cover strips on the inside to give it more strength. AND of course, I didn't find the ABS Paste Tutorial until after I applied it here. Like I said, I am hopefully getting replacements. For the shins and AB Plates.

Thank you, that is the build guide I am generally using. I noticed his were a little different as well.

I still need to trim the butt plate above. I went back to the forearms and a couple things. The left forearm is quite different than the right. I have seen other forearms that are similar to this. Is my right one above normal? This is looking from the top of the forearm. The left side is at the top of the image. After sizing, I am going to have to trim a little bit. But want to make sure the way the first is image is, is ok before I do anymore trimming and glueing.

Following the return edges of my posterior armor I just want to make sure I am getting the corner area correct. Using the image on the left as reference, I think I am pretty close. Thoughts?

Thanks as always Glen! My GML said the same thing. I will be working on this today!

Hello @LordUzkost66 Kira! I call Seattle home! I miss it. I am in Kansas City now after a stint in Brooklyn, NY and Atlanta. @gmrhodes13 and @Nairy are the right folks to be talking too! They have been helping me build my first costume. It's been two steps forward, 1.5 steps back. I recently purchased TK AM armor from Dave's Darkside Depot. From my understanding it is the most complete armor you can get. That said, you still have to spend a lot of time trimming and fitting. There is a ton of information here. And the team does a great job managing all the information. Even with that, it can be overwhelming. Happy to chat about the build experience if you decide to go that route.

I am just holding the cod piece and the thighs up. Both shins are just taped in back which is why they look off. I can bring them down a touch. And honestly not feeling like I need to add to them. What do you think? I am also checking with the GML.

Ok - need help. First big issue, at least for me. Shins! Two issues: Shins are too short. I am 6'5. Now, I can add a couple of inches to the bottom. You can see what happens when I move the shin up to where I think the right location of the sniper plate should be. The other issue is on the left leg I made it to small. It felt like it fit correctly. Was snug. But apparently too snug. Please see image below. Questions: Does my solutions below seem like they would work? I looked at reference images and I think my sniper plate should roughly cover the knee, correct? It felt more comfortable that way. This is the proper place met for the sniper plate, correct? Here would be my thought. Add a couple of inches, to both left and right shim. ( I will get the wifey to help measure.) Then create a shim for the back. And the small notch at the top. I would just mold something with the scrapes and ABS paste. Please excuse the mess on the back. I need to clean it up after gluing the velcro down.

I had thought the ammo pack would cover the small gap. I was wrong. Is it better to leave or try and use paste to fill in the gap? My ammo pack came with about a 9 mm return edge. I read one post that it should be around 3-5 mm. Should I remove? I personally would rather leave if I can just because trying to remove 4mm is more hassle than it's worth and it could result in more issues. Also is that off set too much? Small gap in back. Fill with paste or leave? The blue tape on the ammo pack is were I would be making cuts. Blue tape is what I would be removing. Should the ammo pack align with the back corner? As long as I can get the sniper plate to glue correctly, is the alignment ok?

Thanks guys. I didn't see @gmrhodes13post until after I got all my glueing done but fortunately, I did do about 5 mm return edge on that top! Phew. Thighs, glued up. Check. Shins just got glued up. Check. I need to add the piece to the right thigh and left knee. But I am assuming that is not going to be too difficult. Then on to the chest and back. I see a light at the ed of the tunnel! Until I post pictures and you all tell me what I did wrong.
-
So, I am back at it. Thighs are glued and drying. I will post pics later. But on to the shins. Before I get cutting a couple of things. I am going to remove the return edge off the bottoms. I am going to leave 3/16 on the tops of the return edge Does this look correct to you all? I imagine the shorter piece is on the inside. (This is looking top down.) And velcro'ing in this manner is still the most accept method?
