Easier to carry around than a blaster!
-
Troop #28 Finally, a holiday party I could troop! This troop was at the workplace of one of our fellow troopers, and he had drummed up a lot of excitement for us, so we were second only to Santa in terms of being a center of attention! No blasters were allowed, so we improvised:
-
Troop #27 I was able to make my way out to the Music City Squad's territory for a smaller con named Music City Multi Con. The Midsouth Garrison was situated with the Corellian Base of the Rebel Legion, and close to the Bes'uliik Clan of the Mando Mercs, the Sith Dynasty, and the Defenders Detachment was there as well! Saturday was the busiest, but we did have a showing on today (Sunday):
-
Troop #26 We were back for round 2 of Boo at the Zoo at the Knoxville Zoo! The Knox Eisley Squad had a good mix of different costumes, with five 501st detachments represented! It was the clone troopers first troop as well!

Field Exercise Awards -- Post your milestones here

25! -
Troop #25 Today was the Fall Festival at the Blount County Public Library in Maryville, Tennessee! The event consisted of different games and activities for attendees, many vendors selling various food and other goods, and (of course) everyone's favorite Imperials! We also helped out with enforcing policy! This troop was also meaningful because I have now met my goal of 25 troops within my first year in the Legion! The only reason 25 was the goal is because it seems like a good number. Nevertheless, I have met my trooping goal for my first year! There are at least a few more troops for Midsouth's Knox Eisley squad before year's end, so plenty more fun adventures to come!

Seeking advice on how to fix my FO TK armour
Tilheyra replied to Alan Paddington's topic in Tutorials, Tips and HOWTOs
Although it may take a bit to pick apart, it appears you have guidance on where to go from here. As Glen mentioned, it may be best to reach out to others in your area for in-person assistance. For work on the back and chest plates (among other parts), you will find it will be super helpful to have others to help you in-person. Where the FISD forum will be helpful is the multitude of build threads for the TLJ & TROS First Order TK builds. By reading through many of those threads, you should be able to find many tips and tricks needed to make the corrections that have been pointed out to you. Here's the area of the forum where you will find builds for The Last Jedi FOTKs: https://www.whitearmor.net/forum/forum/194-tlj-stormtrooper/ Here's the area of the forum where you will find builds for The Rise of Skywalker FOTKs: https://www.whitearmor.net/forum/forum/209-tros-stormtrooper/ Those of us here on the FISD forum can also take a look changes you make to your armor (via photos you post) and offer guidance. Nevertheless, the final decision on approval will always be up to your GML. -
Seeking advice on how to fix my FO TK armour

Have you made contact with your GML (Garrison Member Liaison) as to these issues? If so, what was their guidance? To give a better idea of what these concerns may be, you may want to show photos here. -
Although I do not have the knowledge on the specific set of armor you purchased, I wanted to note that I will be following this thread to help in answering questions about the Shock Trooper costume! Happy to see a new potential Shock Trooper here on the forum!

Troop #24 After nearly 2 months without a troop, I was finally able to get back in armor! This event was Boo at the Zoo at the Knoxville, Tennessee zoo! We had 3 TKs, a Tusken, and Chewbacca also made an appearance. As I assume is done at many other zoos, the children and their families would visit different booths throughout the zoo to get candy, and then would roam around and get photos with members of different costume groups! We were next to the Smoky Mountain Ghostbusters, so both groups were a major draw for photo ops! We are repeating this event on Saturday, October 26th, so I plan to be back at the zoo in a couple of weeks.

Newbie from Kansas City looking for some help!
Tilheyra replied to M4S88's topic in New Member Introductions
Welcome! Great to see someone from Kansas City! I grew up on the Kansas side of the Kansas City area (but I didn't join the 501st until well after I moved away). Your local garrison is the 70th Explorers, which covers Kansas and most of Missouri: https://www.70thexplorers.com/ You should be able to find local help as much of their membership is clustered in Kansas City (and Saint Louis as well). The FISD forum here is great to explore, do lots and lots of research, and ask questions about your build. I highly recommend creating a build thread here so you can post all of your progress photos and ask all the questions you have. However, local help is always great, especially if you are working on a complicated task. -
Do you really want me to give the lecture on sampling techniques versus a census?

KJ Build thread? Walt's Trooper Factory Kit
Tilheyra replied to MSF Productions's topic in ANH Build Threads
To prevent bunching of the bib on your neck seal, put on the neck seal prior to putting on the undersuit. That will keep the bib underneath the undersuit and not out where it is free to bunch up. Padding on the inside of the thigh and lower leg pieces can be used to pull the sniper knee outward and prevent contact with the bottom of the thigh piece. Put some padding on the back side (of the inside) of the lower part of the thigh piece, and some padding on the front side (of the inside) of the upper part of the lower leg piece. That padding will act to push the sniper knee forward and the bottom of the thigh piece backward.
