  1. Scott and Ashley's beautiful wedding. So much fun to see so many involved wearing costumes and playing the part. Even The Maker himself showed up. Preventing any gate crashers Not me polishing off the rest of the crackers. Queued up for the Imperial March. A slightly daunting sight for someone walking down the aisle, but what a view! So fun to have been part of such a unique event. Congrats, Ashley!
  2. Superhero Scuttle @ Children's Hospital Had fun in spite of miserable weather. I look like an action figure next to a fellow trooper. So, no, I'm not short for a stormtrooper ftr.
  3. Thank you! I’m honored to have been chosen!
  4. Orchard Park Academy A fun troop event interrupting kids during their classes during the afternoon. The school had called too late to get a group on the 4th, but they went with the next best for the Revenge of the FIfth. Even better in my opinion. Amazing how hard our teachers work. I hear it, I know it, but seeing it is just amazing.
  5. Trooped number 10 today of all days.
  6. Troop 10 was pretty fun. Star Wars day 2023 well spent. I was bummed not to squeeze in at least a 2nd troop, but it was not to be. More tomorrow and Saturday. Mostly standing in one place for a long time. But there were a lot of very excited people getting their photos with the menagerie. So the smiles made it worth it.
  7. Timnath Community Park Safety Fair Local law enforcement and safety agencies in the nearby areas. Lots of fun.
  8. Looking good!
  9. VFW Honor Flight #42 Honor Flights are special events where the VFW flies a group of veterans to our nation's capital. This was my introduction to this event and it was a very meaningful one I will be doing again. (Though I may not do it the same day as another troop. Lots of standing around 2x in a day is painful, but at least I was warm.)
  10. CSU Spring Science Extravaganza A very cold day (~30F) for a troop. Thanks to the kind staff for getting pizzas for the staff, volunteers & troop. A small group braving the cold to bring some smiles to a lot of little & big kids. Enjoying a little bubble blowing. Looking for some trouble making rebels to apprehend while I'm out for a relaxing stroll.
  11. Looking great!
  12. Used the supplied stuff. At least for now. I haven't gone back in to change it. Some day maybe.
  13. Seems good to me, the gaps are minimal to my eyes. I had a lot more gaps, but the neck seal really snugged them down a lot. Nice work
  14. Gorgeous looking kit. That is a great character and the live action is great. I miss SW: Resistance, bring it back!!
  15. MHS - 2023 MiniCon (Landmark Comic Book Club) I'm not in the photos I've found yet, but I still get blown away every time Threepio & Artoo are present and have to share. Bonus points for Gonk.
  16. I was at the opposite side of the photo shoot area. We did get the run off of kids who were maybe too shy to get into the ring with the fancy ones. I did get my share of pics and a few hugs(!) even. It was pretty quiet for us, but everyone loves armor! Yeah, Chewie and the droids got most of the attention.
  17. First troop with C-3P0. So crazy that anyone could fit in that thing. Such an amazing job by our droids.
  18. First big parade. Fun to see so many kids having fun. My hands are sore from all the high-fiving. Me with my eyes half-closed. A trait that runs in my family. Me with the photobomb. Looking back at Union Station to see if I was falling behind. There is no Exiting the Empire!
  19. Yep, I reverted back to the same as that. I liked the bracket idea, but it just didn't sit down nicely in my helmet. It's a lot lighter this way. Live & learn.
  20. Yeah, it was fine. I could twist it on fine. I really have almost nothing in there except a few helmet pads on the top & crown. I am fitting a couple of my own fans (not the bracketed insert) with velcro and those site nicely in the cheek/jowls incl. a battery pack. So there is room, just the bracket doesn't work for me I guess.
  21. Yeah, that's with the twist. I can barely get it over the bridge of my rather voluminous nose. It was tight before and that was ok, now the fan bracket & switches really make it almost impossible, and I haven't added my headset mic or a battery. I was just wondering from the photos if there is an area that is not trimmed enough or if it looks right. I can probably make do if that looks alright. But I did get a new strip of neck seal just in case I widened that thing.
  22. My noggin is either too big or my helmet hole is too small, or both. I added a ukswrath fan bracket and I'm having a hard time stuffing my melon into this thing. Should I be trimming some of this back further? I originally had cut it back a ways, you can see where I had to salvage some gasket to get it to meet at the ends.
  23. SRS - Night to Shine Description: Night to Shine is an unforgettable prom night experience, centered on God’s love, for people with special needs, ages 14 and older First longer troop and the boots are aching today! I forgot my belt and was saved by my fellow trooper Calvin (Sith trooper pictured). Thanks, man! Noting for future troops and putting it on the checklist.
  24. Very kind offer. It sounds like a lot of work, but if it would be useful for others and not just me, then if you were able to
  25. For anyone who has completed this, Is there a ballpark dollar amount on what it ended up costing? I have some modest ability to construct this, but it would be more to save money than anything else. Probably maybe a question for US builders since I am not finding any of the ebay parts, but I do find them between Adafruit & Amazon for the most part.
