  1. Let's go! Can't wait to see what our people come up with!
  2. Yoyo Ed! I have an RS Prop Masters kit and I had no issues whatsoever to see through the Hero lenses that came with my helmet. Although the reason for this was that the lens material was so thin that distortion didn't really happen, and the downside of that was that they were not as dark as they "should have" been. Right now I'm borrowing my bubble lenses from a mate in the Swedish Garrison that are purchased from Troopermaster and there is much more distortion there as the material is thicker, but luckily they have a spot I can see through! I don't ever get dizzy which is a plus but you'll figure that out yourself when you are wearing the helmet for 30-60 minutes straight! An easy way of going about it since their isn't a guarantee that a new helmet from SDS would match the armor you have, would be to just buy a helmet from any maker (RS, TM etc.) and if the shade of the ABS is way off, you could paint the helmet to try and match it as closely as you can! The TK's we see on screen had painted helmets so it wouldn't lose its accurate-ness in that sense I'd proooobably go for an RS kit and build it myself so that I could get every detail right from the beginning since RS don't automatically get every detail right when commisioning one, but you'll at least have a good looking armor that has lineage! Then you also have Troopermaster that has taken measurements from the screen used armor that the RS Prop Masters co-owner Simon owns, and he produces a wonderful armor too! Both of these makers has their pros and cons! Being restless and eager to get things going I'd mooost likely commision a helmet from Troopermaster and try to get a sniper knee plate, thigh ammo strap and ab buttons and a belt "trown in" (A.K.A. purchased) with the order, so you'd have supply of all things you'd need to fix on the SDS armor. Why TM in this case would be because you talk to him directly and he seems to work quickly! RS seems to have long wait times at the moment. When I commisioned my suit in April 2022 I had to wait 12 weeks or maybe more. Welcome!
  3. Hello and welcome Vinny! The help you'll get here from our people is plenty for you to build an armor at level 3 specs! We answer quickly and are eager to help you out every step of the way! If you want you could reach out to your Garrison and try to arrange an armor party with them! Usually it is held at someones place like in a garage or studio but I'm sure you could get a few people in on splitting on the costs to rent a place to be for the day! I'm looking at doing that myself actually and it sure is a great way of getting introducted to the community when you are starting out!
  4. Hehe ok good just wanted to make sure what level of detail we were talking about! Then again if that would slip through, then it would of course be catched if/when they apply for the higher levels!
  5. So people could use white duct tape for the gap for basic approval?
  6. Usually people have the snaps on the ab plate that the belt attach attach to! That in combination with tightening it a lot is super good!
  7. Keep up the good work!
  8. I am 182 cm tall and my legs are a bit longer than my upper body so it is probably a combination of fitment, as I haven't seen any evidence of them being cut short! I will measure and come back to this thread with "the truth" They're supposed to be 15", and TM's is also 15" because measurements were taken from Simon's (RS part owner) Original suit!
  9. As the new curator of the Stormtrooper Hall of Fame, I'd like to kick this off with a bang (literally)! With an armor looking that mint, the Rebels should take the hint! Please welcome TK 20209 to the Stormtrooper Hall of Fame, January 2023! @MCPOLara Troop log can be found here. Well done trooper and congratulations on your 6th troop! Soon you'll have that badge! 10. Hello Wesley! Welcome
  11. Something that has been bugging me quite a bit is the gap between my shins and my thigh armor. I have a commissioned kit, so I'm not sure if all RS shins are shorter than most. If we look at the trooper to my right, he is wearing a TM kit, and the shins are much taller as we can see on this image below. The caveat here is that he has TM's XL shins so they add 2 inches, but still. Me to the left (RS), other TK to the right (TM) Just wondering if anyone else has had this thought or if it's just that mine are quite a lot shorter than the normal RS shins/they just ride a bit too low/my legs in combination with thigh height are too long. One potential fix that I could do to minimize the gap is of course to attach velcro to a sheet of ABS that I'll put on the inner tab of my shoe, and attach it to the shin on the inside so that it doesn't slide down as much. And lower the thighs a bit of course!

  15. You're on the home stretch! Wow, just saw this thread. I've always loved C3PO and the fact that we soon will have a gold trooper in the CRL is incredibly exciting! I love your YouTube channel too! Let's goooo
  16. Especially since you will get feedback instantly before cutting or placing anything, so it eliminates most of the anxiety that we talked about!
  17. I was very nervous when taking on some of my tasks, but it was very rewarding when completing them!
  18. 11. 2023-02-10, The Sounds of Space with Anton Grandert (Hero) Troop number 11! Anton Grandert (concept artist for Lucasfilm) messaged me yesterday and wanted some TKs for a concert called "The Sounds of Space", where he was both playing the trombone on some songs and conducted others, and also had a little showcase of his work on Obi-Wan, The Mandalorian and The Book of Boba Fett! With short notice I got @Coil to join in and it made for a very fun troop! We started by patrolling the queues and asking if they had seen any rebels around here, which they of course "hadn't"! When the concert began, we got to stand on stage for The Mandalorian main theme, Imperial March and the Star Wars main theme. At first I thought that I got heat stroke but it was just the orchestra that played the themes so good it gave me a serious case of shivering and goose bumps! There were both young school kids playing in the orchestra as well as senior citizens! Such a powerful experience! Before the Mandalorian Main Theme started we stood on stage and were looking for Din Djarin and the Grogulorian, but Grogu did a jedi mind trick on us so we looked the other way. It was a huge success and Anton was very happy! On stage while the orchestra played the Imperial March! The conductor was in Darth Vader costume. I'll add more images as I get them, as per usual in my threads! In the image above, you can see that I have adjusted my frown paint at the ends to match Han Solo's helmet! Yesterday I received my new white leather binder pouch from Darman's Props on Etsy, thank you @revlimiter for the tip! It is a great pouch! Even fits my phone, so I can now take selfies while on troop! (posting Adam's image for reference of how it looks, as I haven't gotten any images from Anton yet) I also did my first troop with a pair of TM bubble lenses (borrowed from another SG TK) that are much darker than my RS bubble lenses! It worked out totally fine! They had a lot more distortion than the RS bubble lenses but it didn't make me at all nauseous, as there was a perfect spot to look through straight forward! Woop woop! On to the next one!
  19. Amazing new Alan! Congratulations!
  20. You shouldn't have to replace your sniper knee! I only remember small comments that some sand paper can take care of!
  21. I'm late to the party but really nice armor you have there Matt! Great work! Congrats
  22. Enjoy your new banner @Chemi!! The most ellaborate one yet
