Tim’s first time build (RS Prop Masters ESB TK)
Nairy replied to TrickyT81's topic in ESB Build Threads
I think you should be good to go with this pair! /Jonatan -
Hello Paolo! Welcome to the FISD and congratulations on taking your first steps towards becoming a Stormtrooper! When I was at your stage early last year, I looked everywhere, on YouTube and on this forum (mainly Expert Infantry and Centurion threads) to see which makers I thought looked the part! With your height, I don't see an issue with pretty much any maker, but a fellow Garrison member that is a little taller, he went with TM (Troopermaster on Facebook) as he can offer taller legs if that is something you're a little worried about! What makers people choose tend to vary mostly based on the "width" of a person from what I've seen so far, and in the "width" department most if not all the vetted vendors offers good solutions on this, maybe except from the ROTJ armor makers as the armor itself isn't really made with shims in mind, but I'm sure that this isn't any issue for you! As for the Hero and Stunt, it is of course based off of your own personal preference! When I ordered my kit from RS Prop Masters I couldn't decide on which one I wanted. I loved the Stunt but in my mind the Hero had etched into my memory as what the Stormtrooper should look like, since when I was a little tiny boy - I looked through (and pretended to read) the book "Star Wars: The Visual Dictionary" a whole lot! Since the difference between the Hero and the Stunt is simply just the helmet and the belt, I decided to spend a little extra to get the Stunt too (I have yet to troop in it), it just felt awesome to be able to have the same helmet as most people wear, if I ever wanted to! If you are into accessories, the Stunt and Hero have different accessories available to them and that could also influence your decision! Glory to the Empire!

Tim’s first time build (RS Prop Masters ESB TK)
Nairy replied to TrickyT81's topic in ESB Build Threads
@TrickyT81 Do you mind posting a similar picture of the first ones they sent you that had a whiter shade? I think in this case both would work when they are cut to size. I'd use whichever ones have the least amount of contrast! -

I seriously doubt that it will be as noticable when they are cut to size as they are here! The pops of color on them will also aid in taking some more attention off of it. @gmrhodes13 Does the Retr0bright expose the plastic, or just make it brighter? I understand that a white armor that yellows over time gets more white since we're exposing the good white plastic underneath the yellow, but in this case when it is a little darker - how would that work you think? -
Hey Bryan you have done an awesome job! The helmet looks really good in its proportions and you'll be a beautiful Hero!

When you have built your scout, and realize that you also want to build a Stormtrooper armor, this is the place to be!! -
Welcome Shawn! Congratulations on the first steps of becoming a fellow Trooper!

If you want two customes, you could always get both the Hero and the Stunt - as I did! The only difference is the helmet and the belt!

Hello Ian! First off, congratulations on taking the first few steps!! Now the ball is rolling! Being willing to learn as you say is exactly how you become a good builder, and research is key when doing builds! We have a good list of vetted vendors here! Some armors are maybe better suited for you depending on your measurements, like height or things like that! I am 182cm and 90+kg, and I've got an RS Prop Masters kit, but taller humans might go for other makers! I personally love the RS armor because it is currently the only armor with direct lineage from ANH Have a look below!! If you have any questions, we're here for you! Good luck in your research!

Tim’s first time build (RS Prop Masters ESB TK)
Nairy replied to TrickyT81's topic in ESB Build Threads
When cutting the sniper knee, make sure that when cutting the L shape, in the bend of the L - don't cut it straight edge to edge but rather more of a C shape, as you can see in the example sniper knee that Glen posted above! (hard edges can cause cracking) Regarding the right ab, are you planning on keeping material out to the blue line or do you plan on cutting it down to the red line? The red line alignment is good for the current Han snap alignment, but I think that you'd have to reposition it if the blue line is the intended line! Also make sure to not cut away the green marked "ledge", as that is where we put the screws. The only reason I'm ponting that out is because I see a dotted line where my bottom green line is, and want to make sure you don't cut that -

I think before I'd do anything is to align the tops of the plates on the same level one more time, and possibly re-measure the placements of the marks on the AB, since right now in the image (possibly with the angle) it looks like the top is aligned above the kidney, and still the marks end below the kidney marks! (and yes the measurements are 20, 52, 53 as Glen pointed out, but one millimeter isn't a big deal, however since you are in a state where you're still measuring, might as well do it? ) Keep it up, it looks really great! The helmet looks mint by the way! -

Bought an Anovos kit but missing Thermal Detonator
Nairy replied to Sherbert's topic in ANH (Stunt and Hero)
Just quickly chiming in here, but I looove the rubber gloves + white cotton gloves combo! For accuracy and comfort, they bend more than the plastic hand plates and personally I think they look the part when holding an E11! I'd also recommend buying a balaclava! Really helps hiding your face behind the teeth and sucks up a little bit of sweat too! I heard from people that got the FO Anovos kit that their plastic was quite a good match for the white paint: RAL 9010 - so as a "plan C or D" maybe you could 3d-print something and paint it with that until you get the real stuff that you want! -
Congratulations and welcome to the ranks, trooper!
