[73] TK-23592 (Nairy) Troop Log - (Social Media Consent)
Nairy replied to Nairy's topic in Field Training Exercises
50. 2024-05-03, Comic Con 2024, Stockholm (Hero) The 50th troop!! I managed to update my status before @Sithping who also hit his 50th today!! I've had a internal competition with him since @Doggydoc hit it before me! There are no pictures just now but I'll add them as soon as I get them! -
As for replacement batteries and just swapping it out that would be easy enough for me, I was always thinking that if I would do something it would be the mod so that you could charge it up again! (that's the one solution that seemed to hard for me)

49. 2024-05-02, Miltonloppet 2024 (The Milton Race), Uppsala (Hero) Milton was a kid at a school in Uppsala, Sweden who was a big Star Wars fan. We attended during May 4th 2023 but he couldn't attend due to him being in the hospital with cancer. He passed away a few months after that and the school has arranged this race in his honor. Every kid at the school yelled "FOR MILTON!" with their fists high up in the air. Miltons mother and sister was there too, along with Miltons best friend who had gotten free time from a different school to attend this race. Milton was only 8 when he lost his battle to cancer. We really got hit by the feels at this troop, and Luyinga (the teacher who arranged this race) just got her own TK delivered at her door a few hours after the race happened today! She'll be a future member of the Scary Looking Nerd Herders (fireteam)! For obvious reasons I cannot post images of all the children, but there were around 300! Andrew (the guy that made me decide to become a TK, Luyinga and me with my floppy drop box) -
I've also had the ticking sound, but I think it was the battery for me too. I haven't been able to use mine since I'm no good with things like this so I just plug my mic directly into the other system that you have there in your helmet, and it still sounds good - just not with the voice changer at the end of every sentence!

48. 2024-03-29, Star Wars in Concert (Return of the Jedi), Stockholm (Hero) The Star Wars in Concert (A New Hope) is what started my Stormtrooper journey in April of 2022. Very soon after that concert experience I decided to order my kit after wanting to become a Stormtrooper for ages. This is a picture of me from that event: The orchestra honored us by after the movie was over, inviting us in to stand in front of the stage, while they played Imperial March one last time! Escorting Papa Palps The people in the orchestra was really excited to meet us too! I confiscated some Mandalorian weapons and played them like a violin to the concert music in the background The Mandalorian wanted to see if it worked or not! Argued with some rebel of course! Am I doing it right? The view from the venue is of the Stockholm City Hall, the most famous landmark of Stockholm, Sweden. It's crazy to be able to say that I've had a troop in there too! Playing rock paper scissors with the Mandalorian There is only one way to guarantee a win! That's it for this time! Now I'm going to Vietnam and Thailand for some vacation for 2 weeks! No troops until May! -

I'm so happy for you! I still feel the same as when I started! I've never clung so hard to a hobby or community before, I'm here to stay! Can't see how my life would look like without it now that I have it! Crazy! Everyone on here becomes almost like an extended family, and it really shows when we go through tough times together, we are always there for each other! For the Empire! -
Congratulations on becoming a Stormtrooper Jason! How excited are you? When you say first, what other costumes do you have in mind?
-
I think you should try my suggestions, there were some points that I think would make it a bit more like the original, like the black area on the left being smaller than the bottom spacing! (But that isn't the black leather pieces concern, only triangle related/red leather) As for the big black one that is underneath, I think you can go ahead, if it is anything like the old one! Is there anything you can think of regarding the fitment in the back? I haven't seen any images in this thread of the back from the old one!

Welcome to the FISD Jeffrey! I think shooting for Centurion is an awesome thing to do, and a lot of fun as well! Those requirements are abeolutely easiest to achieve when having them in mind in your build from day 1, for example I had to cut off my sniper knee with a knife to adjust the position for Centurion, and if I had put in on myself the right way from the beginning that would of course have been a lot easier! Glad to have you!!

From a design perspective (thinking from the developers POV), it would make sense if they designed it to reuse as many measurements as possible, so if you could just try to use the same distance as you have at #1 (the distance between the black and red leather around the neck) on #2 (the top of the triangle shape, making the black area at the top have the same distance), and on #3 minimize the distance to the edge a bit?

I have played around with triangles and pasted a non-slanted triangle on one of the reference photos where it is pointing basically at the camera (minimum distortion), and I was just thinking if you need a triangle ratio to go on, this could help! I think what you have right now may be a little too slanted, compared to the screenshots I've seen, what do you think? I know that the triangle needs to be a little slanted just because of where it is located, and I know that the bottom of the triangle follows the bottom curve of the circle shape, and the top of the triangle is cropped, and right now it may be juuust a little too slanted by the looks of the blueprint you've made, but then again I don't know how the fabric will bend and stuff, so perhaps if you cut out your shape on the paper and place it on your body it would show a little more clearly if what you have now is good or not? I also noticed that the left side of the triangle (the outside) has a smaller black area than the bottom side, and in your blueprint it pretty much looked like you had the same size all around, is that correct?

Looks fantastic!!
