  1. Sorry to burst your bubble but AA is a lying toe rag, you can make the kit look nice, but take what he says with a large pinch of salt. welcome to fisd by the way..
  2. No problem, set the brow line as you wish.
  3. Yes not many armour makers have really gone down the hero route, back in the day you could get a TE, or a Felano hero. Or even a Gino.. Nowadays I think if you want a hero lid go TM.
  4. Nice work on the build and good luck - not that you'd need it :-)
  5. When cutting your cover strips; Lay your rule on the plastic and hold fairly tight with your fingers. Your knife hand is best to lightly score the plastic without pushing too hard. Scoring lightly several times is better than one heavy go. The harder you press the more likely you will slip or follow a line other than the side of the rule. Hi everybody..
  6. As they are off cuts from the plastic used for forming your armour they are the same thickness as the plastic suit, choose from 1, 1.5 or 2 mm to match your suit.
  7. I have a boring office job working for a company that is contracted to the Ministry of Justice and deal with national security.
  8. Well done that man...
  9. When wearing a TM you just simply sit down, relax and put your feet up on a troop..
  10. Just lengthen the elastic, no need to change the wire bracket.
  11. You have 3 options. Square - rounded - 45 deg cut..
  12. Anyone who thinks the decals on ESB helmets are blue must be living in 1999.. It's just lighting and filters on the cameras..
  13. Just rip the hengstler counter off..
  14. I know you were agreeing, just realised moaning about the moaners is still moaning!! lol
  15. That's very true, maybe I should head off and do some research! But my point is, I didn't start using number 14 because somebody else told me to, I starting using it as when I used the number 15 as was the done thing back in the day it didn't look right. So I looked at all my ref pictures and decided that the dark blue was just that, too dark. I looked for another better blue matching the real costumes and then I started using number 14. That's how progress is made, read as much as you can, then try things out for yourself. If it works great, pass it on, if it doesn't try something else...
  16. I would have thought if this was your original cleared costume that clearence still would be fine, but buying it expecting clearence - no, not really upto standard any more I'm afraid. When it is radiculously easy to get accurate armour nowadays...
  17. How about all the moaning basterds do some research - how about that for a new concept?!
  18. This is my typical pose for when I troop and have my picture take. So this is what anyone attending any one of my troops will take home and look at and show other people of what they did at the weekend. What do you see?
  19. Looking at the pictures you have posed I would say 5 and 8 are both good contenders. You need a taller boot so that your shins do not pop out about your boots. 8 being the top of my list I think..
  20. Your boots are far too neat Paul
  21. I've owned over 40 lids over the last 9 or so years, usually with around 10 in possession at one time. I'm a little thin on the ground as of late: I think I currently have 3.. Something like that anyway.
  22. There should only ever be one piece of Velcro in a stormtrooper armour build, one piece; and it's not holding the butt to the kidney plate..
  23. Foam, green lens and chin strap - oh and occasionally my head...
  24. Is his thread just to boost your post count? If so im going to start several in the same manner...
  25. The trick to get boot scuffing just right is.. 1. Take a pair of good quality English Chelsea boots. 2. Paint white. 3. Wear a lot. 4. Nicely scuffed..
