  1. You could have a whole workshop full of tools but realistically you only need a hand full of items to complete your armour. I built my TM stormtrooper armour using only a few things.. Pencil, curved plastic trimming scissors, metal ruler, blue masking tape, craft knife, small clamps and a drill. Also you will need glue and snaps to strap the armour..
  2. Really you only want 1 joining strip on each leg not 1 on each side of the leg....
  3. Looks like it has an eye infection!
  4. You will need a metre for the neck, which allows for plenty of extra and just over a foot for the brow. I usually order a metre of each so i have plenty of brow trim in reserve..

  6. I think with the AP kit unless things have changed is that the trim supplied is only the brow trim. Meaning the neck trim is really brow trim. Afaik the brow trim supplies is accurate.
  7. I would say the balaclavas would be an additional item to the neck seal but cannot be sure.
  8. Some of the extras used ski masks or balaclava and some were without and you can see there faces.
  9. This happens to me all the time Rob. My biceps are more likely to go over the shoulder bell rather than under...
  10. No the plastic used on the original armour was made with a high rubber content thus making it very flexible. Hence we see Han solo sit easily with his feet up. I think the hero suits were fitted better to the hero actors for better movement feel and looks for the close up.
  11. I was EIB no 13 with my fx armour and I used material side gap closer and I think it looked ok. But then again I did not use flimsy vinyl but rather a nine inch sqaure of elastic covered in the same White canvas as I used in my belts. This made them fairly stiff and they did not deform so much that would be noticable. That said I have seen some flimsy material being used which was not upto standard. Do I think we should change the requirements? Yes I do. I think the fairest way is to grandfather the req out, giving a specific time to upgrade. Also I think for persons wearing accurate armour with only the tiniest gap visible there should be no need to close it. Many original armour had one side with a small gap of only an inch or so and this should be accepted. On a strict case by case basis.
  12. Looks like a rotj or tour suit?
  13. At least you finally got something, it gives the rest of us hope
  14. I have the V2 also, nice piece
  15. Despite GINO admitting he uses duplicate molds, apparently it is ok for him to lead people to believe they did touch the inside of the real helmets, wtf?
  16. Intersting discussion. What is the other mold that we can see partially? A duplicate maybe? Do you have any other pictures. Ps I am viewing this on my iPhone atm so I cannot see the pics at full size.
  17. :duim:
  18. Hi Keith all I can say is it all depends on the size of the person. There is no one size fits all when it comes to armour. As a rule shorter troopers armour will have less gaps and taller troopers will have bigger gaps. In which case on the taller trooper I would try to space out the gaps so that there is equal space in between the armour parts. The parts themselves should be trimmed if needed to fit comfortably and as a rule I would start by fitting the body first, then the arms starting at the top. And then the legs. Make sure you test fit plenty of times first before trimming. Remember measure twice and cut once. If you are unsure, make small cuts and trim more off , S once it's gone it's gone.
  19. I leave my head facing forwards and rotate my helmet to the left and then screw on.
  20. Hi Nick if you just want some flat green accetate lens ala original send me a pm with your address and i will send you some out
  21. The above is an accurate assesment. Matt please mind your swearing thank you.
  22. If you trimmed the ap like that you would make the left thigh really short, it's already marginally shorter than the right thigh. I would leave them as they are personally.
