  1. Thats Chazz' ol bucket? Very nice addition for your colection
  2. The right eye needs to be trimmed a little more, there is some flashing still in the corner Er, is it me, or are the rear decals on the wrong sides? The thicks tripes should be on the inside, but apart from that i really like it
  3. If you want the brand names you better get building a tardis... The 6 side rivets are not pop rivets they are split rivets and look like this, as I have been saying for the last two years... The single snap is just that. 15mm seems to be the right size visually, try some out to see what you like. It's the backend of the male part. You will also want male snaps directly through the front torso to hold up the belt and split rivets and snaps though the crotch if your going for accuracy. All this info is here at fisd ad nausium if you keep up or do a little searching.
  4. Mmmm I think it is becoming more obvious that the suits and helmets were all painted
  5. Yes the old school thoughts were that the blue was a dark colour, hense the use of #15. However it has become increasingly obvious that the colours used were of a lighter nature hense the more popular use nowadays of the #14. As for painting tips, when i paint my buttons i trace the raised outline with a pencil and just fill with paint as neatly as i can, no need for fancy templates or masking tape. Just paint away, if it turns out a little messy all the better
  6. Approx. 15mm snap for the single right side of torso. Approx. 9mm for the set of six split rivets on the left side of torso.
  7. In my humble opinion i would spend my hard earned else where, somewhere other than sds His BS helmet is rather odd, having extra bits glued on to the ears and vocoder which is far from accurate. I think you would do better with a cheaper, better looking helmet from someone who does not trade on the skills of dead artist's However if you choose this item, it will be fine for membership in the 501st and here at fisd, you may just need to spend some time and effort on it
  8. We all do Matt.
  9. That's a real shame Carsten I hope it turns up. I have wanted one of these for a long time, and if I had just bought one and it too got lost, I would be pretty pissed. Was the package insured?
  10. Hi Jon I was having trouble last night there myself. It does seem to be problematic at times, it is quite antiquated and really needs an upgrade or two However you should be able to get on there at some point. I recommend the usual, delete cookies and empty the cashe and try again.
  11. Awesome great news on getting cleared ps Like the cut corners
  12. Cool it looks like you ticked all the i', and dotted all the t's One thing i would suggest, and thats cutting the corner of the plastic ammo belt at 45'
  13. One of the many questions for wannabe stromtroopers is what tools are needed to actually build the set of armour so here is a visual guide to the minimum requirements in my view. Many people prefer different methods of building and to use other tools but these simple items will serve you well. You only really need a few basic tools to build a set of stormtrooper armour and there is no need for access to a huge workshop either. I have built many sets of armour in my living room using just these few basic tools. You will need a pencil and steel rule for measuring and marking. A sharp knife for cutting straight lines. Curved trimming scissors for those more tricky curves. Masking tape to hold things together while gluing. A good glue as Velcro is so 1999. Clamps to hold things together while the glue is drying, or you can just use the masking tape. A drill for adding snaps and rivets to your armour. Vario pliers for use on snaps. And a good pop rivet gun. Now get cutting, trimming, gluing and building
  14. Is it possible for the UKG deligates to have armour spelt with a U
  15. This greatly depends on your point of view.... i would say it can be tricky
  16. Congratulations Lou and Candace
  17. Some glues react badly when it touch's the metal snap and it can warp the outside armour plastic. I have had this happen before.
  18. Overall you look stunning - a great build for sure! You just need to get that helmets swapped out and it should be a clear pass
  19. I actually got down onto the floor and up again unaided
  20. Hi Marcel i have taken a look and i can confirm that your helmet is indeed a stormtrooper helmet.
