  1. Troop 72 Mississauga, Ontario November 16, 2024 Bricks in the Six Day 2 Back to the Lego exhibit for day 2. 3rd troop in 2 days. My legs were pretty tired.
  2. Troop 71 Cambridge, Ontario November 16, 2024 Cambridge Santa Clause Parade This is my 3rd time doing this parade. I wen’t straight from the troop earlier in the day to this one as I didn’t want to miss it. Apparently this mandalorian found the droid I was looking for.
  3. Troop 70 Mississauga, Ontario November 16, 2024 Bricks in the Six Day 1 This was the first day of a 2 day Lego exhibition. I am really going to have to print myself a Lego E 11 and thermal detonator for these events. Checking out some of the displays with the boss. They really have strange speeder bikes on this planet.
  4. Congratulations James.
  5. Hi Brent, Thank you for your patience while we reviewed your EIB application. Your armour looks great but there are a few things we are going to need to be fixed to get it to EIB level approval. Lets start at the top and work our way down. Please feel free to reach out or ask questions if you need to. Everyone is here to help and wants to see you succeed. Helmet Your helmet looks great, but we are going to ask for an adjustment to your vocoder paint job to make it look more screen accurate. This should be a pretty quick and easy fix. References Shoulder straps Your shoulder straps appear to be uneven when viewed from behind and from the side, the right side has the proper curve to allow it to sit flat on the back armour plate but the left side is a bit too straight. A bit of time with a hot water bath will help to curve the left side to match the right side. References You may also consider trimming all or a portion of the large tabs off the back of the shoulder straps. This is not mentioned in the CRL but is highly recommended for a more screen accurate look. References Posterior Armour Your posterior armour is dropping away from the kidney armour in the front corners and is flaring out at the sides. We would like to see it hug your body a bit closer and follow the line of the back armour. Some strapping in the area shown below should correct the issue . A bit of a warm water bath may also be needed if the kidney armour needs some shaping. References Many troopers have opted for V tabs to help hold the alignment between the posterior and kidney armour pieces. Thermal Detonator Your thermal detonator control panel is facing a bit too much upward instead of to the back. This can be corrected by carefully unrolling the lower portion of the clips to roll the thermal detonator down. CRL L1: The white control panel raised ribbed pad faces the rear, with the controls/round washer style detail closest to the right end cap. References We will also need you to make some size adjustments to your thermal detonator as the overall length as well as the length of the control panel are about 2 cm too long. You can achieve this by carefully removing the control panel and trimming it in the area shown to remove about 20 mm. For the overall length, if you remove the end cap on the side opposite the circle detail on the control panel and trim the grey pipe back about 20 mm, this should allow the end cap to now cover the hole in the pipe from the bracket and make the detonator the correct size. Lower leg armour CRL L1: The total length is approximately 7.50" (190.5mm), End caps are approximately .78" (20mm)in width. References The screw type attaching your clip to the thermal detonator are not the correct type and should be changed for the correct ones. References Lower leg armour Your shins are closed in the back with the inside portion overlapping the outside. This should be reversed as mentioned above by @gmrhodes13 References For your Sniper knee plate, the edges along the back portion should be angled and not curved for a more screen accurate look. This should be a fairly easy trimming job. References Blaster Your blaster details look great but unfortunately there are still some print lines visible. We will need you to do a bit of sanding and refinishing before approving you for EIB. CRL L2: 3-D printed blasters can not contain visible print lines, and must be sanded smooth for a more realistic appearance. Your magazine is a bit longer than those seen on screen. Removing the end plate and trimming it back, should correct the issue. For 3D print files, the files on thingiverse and printables created by Bryan Roller have a shortened version of the magazine that can be printed. In addition, it appears that your Hengstler counter is positione a bit low as it appears to be touching the rail of the folding stock. References
  6. Congratulations Brian, Welcome to the ranks. Looking forward to your EIB approval
  7. Hi Brent @Brent Seymour, Thank you for embedding the photos, it makes things alot easier for reviewing but also as future reference for other troopers. Before going ahead, could you please add the following photos for me? 1. Close up of the wrist side openings of the fore arms. Like the photo below 2. A photo showing the flexibility of the hand plates like the one below 3. A close up of your abdominal armour button plates. 4. A close up of the ab and kidney rivets. 5. A photo showing the measurements of your thermal detonator as mentioned by @gmrhodes13 above
  8. @Brent Seymour Hi Brent, I will be doing your EIB review. If you could please put the photos directly into the application, rather than just links to the photos, that would be great. To do this, instead of selecting image link from Imgur, sel;ect direct link and paste that onto your application. It will then show the actual photo instead of a link. Thanks
  9. Hello Hiroyuki. Welcome to the FISD. I am looking forward to your build.
  10. Hi Shane, Thank you for your EIB application. I will be handling your review and will just need a few more photos before going ahead. Could you please add the following photos Abdomen button plates close up Cod and posterior plate connections showing rivets / snaps (exterior) Internal strapping Wrist openings (close up) Close up of ab/kidney rivets Han Snap Left sniper knee plate close up right sniper knee close up left thigh ammo pack rivet close up right thigh ammo pack rivet close up This guide shows all of the required photos and examples of each for your reference. Thanks
  11. Hi Craig. Welcome
  12. Welcome Adam. Looking forward to seeing your build
  13. Hello Olaf, Thank you for your patience while we looked over you EIB application. We have looked at your costume and will require a few corrections before we will be able to grant your EIB status. Please feel free to reach out if you need any advice with the modifications. 1. For the shoulder straps; The shoulder straps do not overlap the tabs on the top of the back plate. This may be corrected by shortening the elastics connecting the chest and back plates over the shoulders to bring the back piece up, provided that there is room in the butt plate area to accommodate this. If not, the shoulder straps may need to be removed and reattached slightly higher on the chest plate or possibly replaced with a longer set. References 2. For the abdominal armour; The gap between the abdomen armour and the kidney armour should be no more than 1/2". You already have a shim in place, but it will need to be a bit longer. Please note as well, that if you are aiming for level 3 approval, the gap will need to be completely closed. L2:Any gap between the abdomen and kidney armor is no more than 1/2" (12.5mm) wide. References With respect to the shims, they should be flush with the kidney armour and not glued to the underside. A new shim will need to be placed butting up against the kidney armour to provide a smooth transition. A piece of ABS should then be placed on the inside to provide backing and support. L2: Any shims used to achieve this effect are of a similar material and color as the abdomen and kidney armor. Shims fit flush and seams are allowed. 3. For the thermal detonator; We will need a few adjustments on your thermal detonator. With respect to the screws, they do appear to have been painted black but most of the paint seems to have chipped off. A few minutes with some black paint should do the trick. L2: Clips shall be attached with slotted type, flat or dome top style screws, and be black (two per clip). References Also with your thermal detonator, the clip ends appear to be raised where they meet the control panel. These should sit flush. This can be corrected by carefully bending the ends slightly for a tighter fit with the edge sitting right against the control panel. L2:Thermal detonator belt clips are positioned with little to no gap between the clips and the end caps. References 4. For your blaster; We will require you to do a bit more sanding and refinishing as there are still some visible print lines which are not allowed for level 2. L2: 3-D printed blasters can not contain visible print lines and must be sanded smooth for a more realistic appearance. As a final note, when dressing, try to ensure that the gap between the biceps and elbow is the same as the gap between the forearm and hand guard. On your submission photos, your right forearm is shifted up and your left biceps and left forearm are sitting low. You may need to make a few strapping adjustments to correct this.
  14. Looks pretty good so far, your helmet is sitting a bit too high however. You may want to remove some of the padding from the top to get it to sit closer to the shoulders. References If you are thinking of higher level approval, you may want to bring your belt up slightly so it sits just above the bottom of the lowest button on the ab plate. I use velcro on mine to hold it in place. References
