  8. Troop #1 - Fan Expo Canada 2024 (Aug 24-25. First official Troop. What a huge event. James (The Librarian) and I finally suited up for the 501st after building our kits together. Our first day was the group photo before the event opened up. What an experience this whole event was. Longest Only suited up for about an hour on the first day, just to get the lay of the land. Had a blast helping the team fundraise on Blast-a-Trooper. Day 2 I suited up for my longest time even (3 hours). Seeing the smiles on kids (and adults) faces was so rewarding. I never wanted it to end. What an amazing group! Can't wait to get out for the next one.
  9. So I've continued tinkering when I have had time (which isn't much). I tried fixing the TD clips, drop boxes and shoulder bells, shins, and calf armor gaps. Here are my thoughts, 1) I trimmed the shoulder bells, but I'm hesitant to trim and more. They look good from the back, but I may not be able to get the back better than it already is. Most of the issue is with my body side. My chest/torso are way out of proportion to my arms, so I get this large gap at the front (I've included a side picture to show how close it isn't. If this is a deal breaker, I understand. If any one has any tips on how to trim these without making it worse, please let me know. 2) I can't quite get the butt plate and closer. I have have to go back and look at a rigging system that is different that the current set up. My butt/gut are definitely causing issues (it is indeed time to trim some weight). 3) I can't seem to get the shins any lower unless I trim some from the bottom right above the foot/ankle, so I could slide it down a bit. I tried a hot water bath to re-shape them a bit, but I don't think that will hold. 4) I did some mobility cuts on the calves, but I still need to close that gap a bit. Trying to find a way to do this, but it eluded me in the short time I had to work on it. Also found a crack in the shins, so I devoted my time to fixing that. That's all for now. Any feedback is always appreciated. I feel like I"m close, but I don't want to submit unless it's real good.
  10. Thanks for the feedback. I really do appreciate all your help and attention to this. I will work on these things. I'll make some observations below. Feel free to chime in on these if you have any insights. Feedback from EIB was too lower the forearms, but I didn't mean to drop the biceps. I think getting them sitting properly should solve the forearms issue, but I'll be mindful of that when dressing next. I tried getting my shins lower. I really couldn't. I have very large feet (size 14), and my feet really slope a long way. In this shot, the shins are basically digging in the top of my feet. The only way to get the to sit lower would be to trip the bottom of the shins (making a bit more of an arc). I might try a hot water bath to re-shape them a bit first. My shoes are not close to coming out when I walk, so I guess I'm wondering, do you think it's a CRL issue for the shins, or just a practicality issue with the boots? For the butt, I'll see if I can tighten that up a bit The Han snap was placed with measurements from our armorer, as long as it's not an issue, I may try to submit with it rather that take out the snap and relocate. I didn't enjoy doing that with we misplaced our rivets. Obviously, I'll move it if I need to in order to get it right. I will address the drop-box issue. Sometimes it's fine. I usually just give them a bit of a tug, and they are ok, but I'll try to lengthen the straps a bit For the thighs, again, I was following our armorer instructions (he uses a spray paint can to make the shape) and said he does that for Centurion, which is why I did it this way. I will try to add a but of an edge to it. I've been having issues with the calves. I'm wondering if I cut them on an angle of something. Would I be able to put a shim piece behind them to bridge that gap from behind? Been struggling with the TD clips. I will try to improve them for sure I'm worried if I curve the shoulder bells, it would actually make them look farther away. I have a big chest, and closing that gap has been my biggest concern. Biggest worry is that if I cut it, I can't go back. Cheers

  12. So I've made all the modifications I think I need to for Centurion application. Do you suggest posting the pictures here for feedback, or at this point, is it best just to make a Centurion application?
  13. Many thanks. I have stickers, so will give that a shot.
  14. For the Tube strips, are there any tricks to getting that lined up properly? It's one of the last things I have to do Also, to take the old ones off, is it just elbow grease?
  15. I think I got it figured out. I saw the bolt inside and was able to wider the first ring so that it catches the bolt. and puts pressure on it. We'll see how it holds. Thanks for the offer to help. I'll keep working on things and, if it's ok, I'll keep posting things here as I gear up for level 3 approval.
  16. I'll have to look up what that means? I don't see anything that it's supposed to latch onto. My sliding bolt doesn't move, and it appears to be a hollow tube all the way to the front of the blaster. I'm not sure if I can make Comic Con. Got a serious house reno starting, so not sure I can get away.
  17. So, I've been tinkering here and there when I have time. I'm starting heating the butt plate to bend the button up a bit. I have no explanation why it hangs so low. That's just how it is, even with the strap done up. I will post new pictures next time I suit up. For the helmet, I've still got to address the tube strips, but I tried fixing the brow piece by the ears. For the blaster, I attempted the coil. I thought it was strange that it went in so far, then I realized it went right right to the end, and you can see if from the front. This can't be write, but I'm not sure how to stop the coil from sliding around. Would I glue it to the end cap? Not sure how I would get a blocked 1/2 way down. Thoughts?
  18. I'm positive I can make these changes. I do have one question about the butt plate. My snap was definitely done up, so I'm not sure what to say about this. It's just how it sits on me. AM had that little extension on the butt plate, but I cut that off as I read in other threads it wasn't necessary, and it looked like it might be a good pinch point in a dangerous area, so I cut it off. Not sure there's much I can do about that. I use an elastic strap, I suppose I could switch to nylon and see if that make a difference. Any other thoughts or pics you would need me to send?
  19. Matthew Sawa 13239 EIB Letter Chemi All done, sir. See you at the next level! https://www.whitearmor.net/eib/certificates/13239-eib.png
  20. Thanks everyone! Sorry for the delayed post. I was checking my notifications daily to see if there were other improvements to make, but for some reason never saw that it was approved. Weird. Anyway, thank you for all the support and oversight of this process, so excited to join the ranks of you fine troopers. Given where life is taking me right now, I will probably step back from mods until I can research then deep dive into fixing things up. If have have questions/posts about touch ups regarding Centurion mods, would I continue posting here, start a new post, or continue on my original build thread? Thanks again.
  21. Here are my boots that I've sanded down. Hope these are ok now.
  22. Great tip. Thanks. I will try that. Thanks
  23. Trying to figure out which way to go with this part. I'm not sure if I went to far on the right side (blue) and should build it back up, or if I should work on the left (yellow) to lower it a bit a just clean up the blue side into a straighter line.
  24. Sorry, I've taken so long. I finally found black paint. Let me know about the vocoder. I started working on the grey from the gums. I will have to touch it up in some sections that now have rough edges, but please let me know if I've removed enough.
  25. Welcome aboard I just finished my AM armor build a few weeks ago. AJ Hamler build definitely has good stuff. Dave also has some pretty good videos for key stages on his Facebook page as well. Definitely watched those a few times! I also found Pandatrooper videos helpful, and various other ones at different points in the build. The are some differences, especially in size, and that's where cross referencing with Dave's videos is key, and he's got some great tips for his armor, specifically. I'll follow along your build thread once you are up and running. Feel free to PM me and I'd be happy to share what I learned from my build experience any time.
