Thank you! I figure its a lot easier to shoot for EIB/Centurion requirements while building...trying to not have to go back and redo too much down the road!

Thanks!! Took a second pass to raise the two outer vocoder ridges, as well as paint it all the way back to the chin. Added a coat of white to the hovi tips as well. Once this dries I'll go back over with a second coat/touch up where needed. Worked on the ears as well. Once the grey dries I'll add the rank stripe, probably tomorrow.

Finally got the black paint in and took an initial first swing at the vocoder. Couple of questions- how does the patter/lines look (obv there is some pencil that needs erased as well as some sections that need a second pass). Secondly, do I stop painting where I did, or does the black go all the way back under the chin? I didn't think it did, but the helmet still has the vocoder bumps running all the way back, so I'm not sure.

Initial arm fitting, how do the lengths looks? Bicep and forearm and sliding down my arm a bit since I dont have any straps or such attached. I was thinking I would need to trim the forearms and/or the biceps due to my height, but now I cant decide. Obv I'll need to clean up where the elbow scoop meets the outer arm as well. Does the shoulder bell look ok or is it pushing off the bicep armor too much?

Thanks! I cut a larger section of the lens like your helmet. It was a lot closer to sitting right, but still not QUITE right. I eventually came across this build https://www.whitearmor.net/forum/topic/45479-bigcaras-anh-tk-ap-build/page/8/#comments and cut my rectangular lens down a bit. Finally got it setting right (i think) with sugru in the middle between the eyes, and on each end of the lens. Now I'm just waiting on the black paint I ordered so I can finish the vocoder and the ears. Where do people source the S trim from? I looked a bit around my local big box stores but couldn't find the right stuff. Thanks!

Got a green safety shield to use as the lens. Its a lot darker and thicker than what I had before, which was more like a film. Trying the sugru glue method, but the lens doesnt like to hold a curve and pulls off the glue almost immediately. Any advice on this? Do I need to use a different adhesive/mounting method with a thicker lens? Does safety shield plastic hold shape if I heated it and bowed it into a curve? Thanks!

Thank you! I knew I had seen one at some point but couldn't find it any more. I will definitely check all these out.

Waiting on a few things I forgot to buy- (paint, doh!) to arrive. In the mean time, I got around to getting my magnets ready. Next step will be sizing the arms and legs of the armor- I'm a shorter guy and I will definitely need to cut down the calves, thighs, and forearms. Maybe the bicep as well. On the plus side, the chest, back, kidney, etc all seem fine for my torso.

Thanks for the advice and reference pics! Some more progress on the helmet. I counter sunk the ear screws so they sit flatter. My kit also came with decals which I've applied. I think Ill take a heat gun lightly to the grey and black decals to work out the slight bubbles and imperfections from them sitting on a curved surface. Not 100% sure on the lens either. Its green, but you're still able to see my eyes behind it. Should I go for a darker green lens? Lastly, thought I had ordered the paints I needed for the build, but apparently I didn't click check out. So now waiting for those to arrive to paint the screws, vocoder, and ears. Also need to go get an S seal for the bottom.

ok, question number one! Ears! When I lined up my pretrimmed ears, they didn't sit completely flush (which seemed pretty common here). I trimmed a bit where contact with the helmet curves occurred so it could sit better. Right Side Front - I may need to trim a bit more to pull this one in a little closer? Right Side Rear - This one is my problem child. The gap at the top of the ear piece and over the tube of the helmet- how do I pull it in to make it more flush? Parts came pretrimmed but it almost looks like it needs more material there? Left Side Front - This one I think I need to trim a tad more. Additionally, I'm not sure how to bring the bottom of the ear closer to the helmet and eliminate that bottom gap? Left Side Rear - I think this sits flush enough? Final question for when its all looking right- do the flathead screws need to be counter sunk to sit flat on the helmet?

A certain package arrived on my doorstep today... Looks like its time to get building!

Thanks. Luckily I saw that warning several places on this forum before I ordered. I have one pair a vaguely similar leather boots that I wear normally. Those I had to buy one size up to be comfortable. They have the EU size on them, so I was able to order the same from Imperial Boots. Here's to hoping they fit well too!

Clamps I have a ton of already, so hopefully I am good there. A have a dremel somewhere in the garage. Sounds like its time to dig it out and see if I have a sanding drum attachment. Definitely feel like I am going to be asking a ton of questions as I start. Intimidated and excited by the first build.

Went back to my order to confirm, yes it does. Thanks for checking- with none of it having arrived yet its hard to confirm that I've gotten everything I need!

Thanks, just ordered the boots when the opened up this month!

First question- are the undersuit parts I linked above alright? They have some seams on them, but don't appear too visible in the amazon pics I could see. Does the undersuit need to be completely smooth (should I cancel the order?)

Hello everyone! I've long been wanting to join the 501st and soldier for the Empire. Finally decided now is the time to start putting my armor together! Looking forward to learning a ton and meeting everyone!
