  1. Hi everyone, Now that I’m approved and officially in the 501st at entry level, I’d be interested to know if I’d be eligible for EI status or even Centurion. Based on my pictures, can I get recommendations on what I would need to change (if anything) and images I need to provide. May as well occupy my time doing something while I wait for my induction event Thanks, Tim
  2. Thanks, Joseph. I’ll certainly take a look
  3. Hi everyone, My name is Tim and today I proudly became part of the 501st Legion with the UK Garrison. Like many, my story starts in my childhood when I first saw A New Hope and so began my fascination with the Stormtrooper. For a lifetime I’ve been obsessed with the helmet and always wanted one but it wasn’t until I read Anthony Daniels book, ‘I am C-3PO’, where he referenced the 501st. Learning there was a community of like-minded people, all over the world, with the same passion and enthusiasm for such an iconic movie character, I knew I had to join. Well now, that day as arrived. My journey… One positive out of the pandemic has been my ability to save money. Whilst I did this, FISD has been crucial to my research and I’m really glad I took the time to do this so I was confident that I was making the right choice for me. I made the decision to have a commission-build with RS Prop Masters. For me, I just don’t have the confidence to do the work myself so this was the ideal option. On top of that, their direct linage to an original suit, their attention to detail to create a screen accurate replica, warts and all, was a no brainier for me. They truly are world class in my opinion and I’d recommend them to anyone. Special thanks… I’ve had a lot of really valuable advice and suggestions here on this forum but I must thank gmrhodes13 whose regularly responded to my many questions. I would also like to thank Rich330 a.k.a. Richie Stormtrooper (on YouTube). It was his videos that introduced this site, gave advice on where to buy good quality armour (and where not to buy). There are a lot more people so if I’ve missed you out, don’t be offended. I can’t tell you how much of a dream come true this is. I look at myself in the mirror, with the full armour on and it’s the most fantastic feeling. I’m a Stormtrooper. A real one and I cannot wait to get out there trooping. Tim TK 24881 UK Garrison
  4. Hello, please enable me for TK 24881 UK Garrison. https://www.501st.com/members/displaymemberdetails.php?userID=33805 Thanks
  5. Hi all, Just thought I’d let you know that I’ve had clearance and now waiting for my 501st application to go through. Thanks for all your help getting me this far. Sent from The Empire
  6. Awesome. Thanks, Spartan. Sent from The Empire
  7. Hi Spartan, thanks for responding. Basically, the hooks on the shin elastic are already coming lose. I’ve removed them to restitch/reinforce them in the same way Richie Stormtrooper does in the video I link to on my original post. I’m new to all this and this is my first adjustment as it was a commission build so I just need some guidance on how to best reapply the elastic to the shins for the best fit. I’ve attached an image as requested but let me know if you need me to take anything specific. Thanks again. Sent from The Empire
  8. Submitted for clearance so just waiting for confirmation. Hopefully won’t be too long.
  9. Hi everyone, I’m going through the pre-approval process for my RS armour. The build is great and fits really well, apart from the notoriously temperamental hooks for the shins. These are already coming loose which is reflecting in my pre-approval photos. For the moment, I’m looking to follow the advice in the below video from Richie Stormtrooper. RS Prop Masters strapping kit - A CLOSER LOOK/REQUIRED IMPROVEMENTS So the help I need is: 1. How to reattach the strapping to the correct position so they line up properly 2. Getting the length correct so it’s not too lose/tight Thanks in advance for you help/suggestions.
  10. You too, Rob. It’s was great to meet you too and get to know your experiences with trooping. Hopefully we’re not too far away from being able to troop again and see share that with you. Sent from The Empire
  11. Thanks again, Rhodes. I’ll let you know how I get on.
  12. Hi all, So following really helpful feedback, the following adjustments have been made which hopefully tick the boxes to go through the approval process. 1. Helmet foam adjusted to reduce helmet height. 2. 2 additional rivets added to holster to qualify for ‘Hero’ standard 3. Strapping between right forearm/bicep shortened slightly 4. Strapping added between shoulder bells/biceps for both arms Below are a new set of pictures with these adjustments. One thing to mention, after the images were taken I noticed that the strap on the right shoulder wasn’t secured by the elastic. Will I need to have to take a new set of images for this or will this be noted as an advisory? Thanks everyone. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  13. Just a quick question on the ab/kidney overlap, what’s the best way to adjust this as I may need to do this myself. Sent from The Empire
  14. You’ve been a star, Rhodes. Hopefully I’ll be out trooping with you soon. Sent from The Empire
  15. Hi all, So I’ve been given some recommendations on what adjustments I should make. Some of these have been suggested by an armourer on the UK Garrison forum. Below is all the advice I have had so far. 1. Find thinner foam for the helmet to reduce the height (too much neck seal showing) 2. Holster requires 2 additional rivets to make ‘Hero’ classification. 3. Shorten strapping between right bicep and forearm 4. Add elastic strapping between shoulder bells and biceps for each arm. RS have kindly offered to make the adjustments for me so I thought I’d share my photos again in case there are any other recommendations or opinions before they do this. Thanks all. 16. Yes, the right arm is definitely where the adjustment is needed. What’s the best way to remove? Is it a simple case of pulling it off? I do need to add straps from the shoulders to the biceps (currently they’re separate pieces). Can you recommend where to get the right black elastic?
  17. Hi everyone, I think I need to made adjustments to the elastics between my biceps and forearm so they done slide down so much. Can anyone suggest the best way to do this keeping in mind they’re already glued down. Thanks
  18. Great stuff. Thanks, Rhodes.
  19. Hi Rhodes, thanks for the quick feedback. My bad, forgot to mention, the helmet in my original post isn’t mine. I ordered my helmet separately but didn’t have it for my fitting so they lent one to me. I’ve attached images of my helmet. In regards to the holster. I wasn’t aware of this detail so thanks for providing this. To avoid confusion, what type of Stormtrooper should I class this as when going for clearance? I’m conscious I have a hero helmet with a stunt belt (am I correct in saying that?) Thanks Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  20. Hi all, So I picked up my armour from RS today and what absolute treat. Very lucky to live on the doorstep of their unit and be able to see where the magic happens. Paul fitted me in the suit and took my pre-approval photos. Feel free to view and feedback on my full pre-approval thread here: When I got home, I then had a go at putting it on myself and I have a new respect for all you who do this regularly. I’d say my wife had to help with 95% but guess I’ll usually get help when trooping. That being said, I definitely need some practice at being more capable of putting most of the suit on myself. I have a couple of observations at this stage on the range of movement. I can’t really reach to put my blaster in its holster. I can’t sit down I’m very aware of the suit at the moment so I maybe restricting myself but I’m assuming the above is normal? Thanks all, look forward to seeing your comments.

  22. So the day has finally arrived and I’m picking up my stormtrooper armour from RS tomorrow. Can’t wait to try it on for the first time. couple of questions: Can anyone direct me to somewhere that lists the photos I need to take for 501st approval? Where do I find an armourer to feedback on my suit and suggest adjustments? Thanks all. Looking forward to sharing with you all.
  23. Just wanted to check if it’s normal for the rubber seal to do this at the base of the helmet. Didn’t notice it when I got it yesterday and wondered if it’s a fault? Sent from The Empire
  24. Ok, so I’m not exactly building my armour (I’ve commissioned RS to build it for me) but thought I’d start my own thread to mark the journey. Now, before I ordered the full armour, I had already paid for the helmet which arrived today. Ever since I was a kid I’ve wanted one and great work by RS on the care and attention they’ve given to this, so I’m absolutely thrilled with the perfection (and imperfection) the helmet has. I am looking to join the 501st and aiming for centurion level (aim high right). The armour will take a while longer as I ordered separately but any initial thoughts are welcome on the helmet.
  25. Really good advice once again. I only placed my order yesterday so I’m sure I have time to update my measurements. Sent from The Empire
