  1. I’ve also filled the gaps between the thigh halves with ABS paste and sanded them down. It’s not perfect. But I hope it’s good enough for approvals. Especially the right front as it will be mostly covered by the ammo packs. I may revisit it all later. Front of right thigh:
  2. I’ve repositioned the rear cover strip on my right thigh as it wasn’t straight enough before. I’ll need to trim the top off it now as the new angle makes the top sit out past the top of the thigh itself.
  3. Thank you so much for the compliment. Still a few things to do. Mostly clean-up now. So, fingers crossed, I’ll submit soon! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  4. Having said that I did go and shave some brow off. Looks more typical now. Though I may eventually settle for somewhere in between.
  5. I’ve actually already done that twice now! Feel like I’ve pushed it as far as I can without repositioning everything, which I don’t think I want to do.
  6. Thank you both. Funny. I’ve been a lifelong fan of the Hero helmet look. Lower brow = more menacing, etc. But since I got into this armour-building project, I’ve learned to appreciate the Stunt brow so much more. I actually have considered raising it in the time since I started but I worry it will mess up my ears now. Not sure how much more I can carve off from the brow itself and reckon I’d have to tilt the faceplate relative to the cap & back. Is this the case? Am I likely to give myself more headache about my ears?
  7. Since the earliest times (my first ever post mentions trimming ears) I’ve had a big gap in my left ear. It’s never really bothered me because I felt it looked quite authentic. But I wonder if it’s worth trying to fill with ABS paste. Was thinking I could: 1. remove ear 2. lay aluminium foil down on the tube to take on its shape 3. put ear loosely back in place and fill gap with thick-consistency ABS paste. 4. remove ear, allow to dry, sand, replace. Would that work?
  8. I’ve filled my notches in with ABS scraps and ABS paste. But they’re not really very buenos notches. After sanding once already, I think I’m going to have to take another pass at it with the paste. Is it worth dipping my finger in acetone and wiping over each seam just once? I’ve had some success with that technique in the past but you have to be brave.
  9. Thanks Glen. That’s really good to know. Didn’t realise that. The plan is to ultimately switch out this temporary hack for BlastFX once I get it repaired. The only switches in that will be the trigger, the Hengstler counter button, the selector switch and one more fitted under the mag release. Nothing you wouldn’t normally see on a screen-used E-11.
  10. The electronics I stole from my Disney Parks blaster and installed temporarily into my Kassaraptor E-11:
  11. Thanks again fellas. I meant to say that I will look at lowering the forearms to create a bigger gap at the elbow (reluctantly) to close up the gap above the gloves. Especially the left forearm. I’m happy with the bicep position. It’s already as low as it can go. (And is already on a hook.) Sorry if I wasn’t clear.
  12. Where I am with my armour right now: Still lots of things to fix, including lowering my forearms a little. The WTF shoulder bells are a bit short so I may end up with more black showing at the elbows than I would want. But it’s probably better than showing too much glove at the wrists.
  13. With Disney lights & sounds: https://live.staticflickr.com/video/52671110644/a1fa3d1f69/orig.mov https://live.staticflickr.com/video/52671110644/a1fa3d1f69/orig.mov?s=eyJpIjo1MjY3MTExMDY0NCwiZSI6MTY3NTYyNTgxNCwicyI6ImQxODYxY2M0NTU2ZDg2NzFkYWUwNWZjODJjM2NjYThjNWEyOGUwYmMiLCJ2IjoxfQ
  14. Just a quick recap on my E-11 from Kassaraptor. I had originally planned to install TRamp’s amazing BlastFX in it but I’ve somehow managed to short it somewhere while doing some soldering, so I’ll have to send it back to Paul to get fixed. In the meantime I’ve ripped the light & sound guts out of a Disney Parks Stormtrooper Blaster that I got from Tokyo Disneyland and have installed those parts instead. It’s still a work in progress.
  15. More side-by-side comparisons: New TD is on top. This shows view from rear. Sheen on grey pipe is better on new TD, shown right:
  16. There was no way I could ever reshape UKSwrath’s amazing but meaty metal clips by myself. So, in the end, I caved and bought a whole new TD from Troopermaster. It’s O ring is clearly visible from the rear. And the clips are much thinner, so should be easy to bend and tweak if I need to. Only issue is that the ABS is very yellow compared to the rest of my armour, so I’ve already bought some Armorwhite to see if I can bring it closer. Photo reference shows O ring position, clips and colour vs the one that came with (and matches) my armour:
  17. Thank you Glen. I will check.
  18. Thank you all for the guidance. I will fill in the notches. Just for your reference, here’s how the armour currently looks suited up. And the current notches are too deep:
  19. Hello. Been trying to get back to this build for so long and hopefully I’ll finally have som e more time. But I’d like to know if my super thick black lines around the tears and traps would be approvable for lower levels while I work on other details to (hopefully) get me to Centurion. Thanks as always for the advice.
  20. Hello. Been away for a lonnnnng time. Can I please confirm that, if I fill the notches as mocked up in these badly photoshopped images, these should be approvable for Centurion?
  21. I think I’ve just done the same thing that you did. Everything was working perfectly, then somehow it’s all gone silent. But all the lights, laser, displays, menu, etc. are still ok. I don’t want to bother Paul right now as he’s dealing with Covid but I have a strong suspicion I’m going to have to buy a whole new BlastFX for my E-11.
  22. As I get closer to finishing my build, I’ve recently revisited my E-11. Still not finished painting it yet and I will be installing light and sound with TRamp’s BlastFX but I finally feel that it’s well on the way.
  23. A question about thighs, if I may: Do I trim the rear cover strips at this line?
  24. Yes I’d need bigger cajones than I could fit behind my codpiece to try the heat gun method! I’ve had pretty good success with a heat iron but I’m not sure it will work well on such a large area all at one time. Hot water seems like the way to go. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
