I guess they come in various sizes - for different tube diameter.
Has the original part ever been identified?
Maybe we need to look under 70ies sinks in the UK - several other parts were already found there.

I'm sorry if this is old new - couldn't find anythin via search eingine so far.
I just found a thread over at the rpf and a new guy mentioned that it looks like a pvc female connector (plumbing)
So I google some pics - Is this close?
I am sure these come in metal aswell.
Have a look:

Thanks Joe,
found the pics on the RPF! Cool looking bucket! Keith mentiond, that it really was a "BIG job"
I'd really love to know which areas to manipulate. Still need to train my eyes to pinpoint those differences.

I think a good start would be a side by side comparison to point out the extent of the "recasting accident" which resulted in the famous "squished" look.
My eye is still too untrained.
Maybe one our our "real" experts could give some starters?
Can I dream of some authentic looking ROTJ helmts made out of an AP or TE kit, using my hair dryer?
Karin
Is it possible to make an ROTJ bucket out of an ANH kit, like using a heat gun to get the sqished look? Has somebody succesfully tried it? An ROTJ style painted helmet doesn't look right...
Regards,
Karin
