  1. It isn't even pristine! There are tons of sharpie markings....
  2. Prosit Neujahr! Sent from my C64 with tapatalk
  3. Loctite is the way to go! For the painted latex guards (like you have, Pat) regular CA (super) glue will do the job. But I recommend the loctite with activator pen nevertheless, because it creates an incredible strong bond. it might work, but you will lose the flexibily of the hand guards. Get some white cotton gloves to wear underneath to rubber gloves. Almost no sweat!
  4. I feel your pain, Mike!
  5. Congrats! Only a year?! It seems you've been around forever!
  6. Excellent, Trooper!
  7. Not really. AS TM said before, no armor is the same. There are suble differnces in the built. and then you have posture, height, condition of the hand guard etc. Y'know, 5 years ago I couldn't tell a stunt from a hero hand guard. it was quite a learning curve. So, Kido, take your time and look at fotos, and research, asking questions, etc. Do you know starwarshelmets.com? check it out. it helpe me a lot
  8. I can tell who's who in the UKG by looking at their hand guards
  9. What they said and practice, practice, practice.
  10. Not entirely true. Many stunt helmets can be seen wearing "hero" hand guards; "Alternative style hand guards" is a way better term.
  11. I don't mind paying either, but since I don't own a credit card, I could not pay for it. Most of the apps are just a few bucks... I spent a LOT more on all my vices! LOL
  12. Cheap is good! Hm.. a little confusing...I hope I'll figure out how it works...
  13. FYI: I just found out there's a FREE version of tapatalk... Just downloaded it!
  14. Actually, there were no TD in ROTJ. But some ROTJ TK were made up TD and used in the new versions of ANH
  15. IMHO, it's s very unrealistic. It's way cheaper to get a kit from our vetted vendors.
  16. LOL. like my favorite Russian said in Star TREK VI said: "If shoe fits, wear it!" I'm glad to be back. Missed you all!
  17. I never get tired hearing this. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SNqsQJ3a1fI This took place in 2010 at the (former) Imperial Palace Schloss Schönbrunn in Vienna, Austria. The music at the location is just breath taking! Enjoy!
  18. As I said before, use vinegar or even Febreze to get rid of the stink. If it doesn't work, just cut the hand guards off and glue them onto a new pair of gloves.
  19. And a always wear cotton liners
  20. Vinegar. Nature's best deodorant
  21. I love the mismatched hand guards ! For aesthetic reasons, the hero guard could use a little weathering.
  22. If you look closely at this pic of Joe Johnston as spacetrooper, you'll notice he's wearing two RIGHT hand guards. Well, here they are: They were made for a member for his soon to be finished Spacetrooper suit. It was quite a challenge to glue them on the wrong side, without having them look completely ugly Karin
  23. I like the helmet....
  24. If exposed to oxygen, fatty acids and sunlight latex degrades soon. But that doesn't happen over night. I have a set of latex guards on my balcony, unprotected, lying on my balcony for 3 years now. No significant damage so far . (Costumes on every movie production endure a lot of abuse. Do you know the pic where the suits of armor were just thrown into bins? Heart breaking!) Maybe the paint problem was another factor to make a new design. My white rubber guards are mostly silicone. The only problem with them world be a slight discoloration over time if they are exposed to sunlight, smoke, etc.
