Hopeful but Intimidated
Waya Chetan replied to Trooper Nez's topic in Getting Started - Read this First!
I can understand the intimidation factor, since as a kid I never even built model cars. So needless to say, I was overwhelmed with my TK build, so it sat idle for almost 3 years. My advice, lean on others for support, and focus on solving one problem at a time when building. -

TK15889 reporting for duty
Waya Chetan replied to Waya Chetan's topic in Newly Approved Members - Sound Off!
This has been in reality a 15 year journey. When I initially got approved back on the 6th of March, I posted a pic in the Carolina Garrison FB group of me next to a TK from an event in 2009. That TK actually identified himself. He's in retired status. Hoping he comes out to troop at SC Comicon next month. Words can't describe how excited I am. -
Fellow Troopers, I started my build 3 years ago, and finally as of 3/6/24, I am finally approved. Doing my 1st official troop on 3/21 or 3/22 and can't wait.

Thanks. Posted this morning. I know they'll get to it.

Worked with my GML, and proud to say, got my approval. TK 15889 on deck.

Pulling this one back out of the dust bin. The fact that I paid to have it finished and had some pretty inexcusable items made me put it away until my Mando was done. The rivets on the belt/holster in particular. Could I possibly cover the extra rivets with fabric? Really not wanting to tear the belt apart and possibly have to buy a new one.

I appreciate the feedback. Wasn't sure if I was ready to move to preapproval yet. So I guess here we go.

An update! This time with pics! Got my kit back from Imperial Assembly Line last Thursday, but had a road trip to retrieve the new family pup, (Giant Alaskan Malamute named Anakin's Mara Jade, or just Mara. Almost like I'm a Star Wars fan or something. Weird.), so didn't get to do this till today. Anyway, kitted up with the wife's help, and she took lots of pics, and even a video. Overall, happy with the suit, a couple adjustments need to be made however. 1-My chest plate keeps wanting to slide behind my ab plate. Any suggestions to fix this? 2-Knee plate keeps wanting to go up and under my thigh plate. I get the sense I need to raise both my calves about an inch and that should be solved. Any suggestions on how to implement that? 3-I need to attach my belt to the front of the armor a bit more securely, but I have a plan in mind for that. 4-Popped the seam on my left forearm getting my hand through while wearing my glove with the flexible hand cover. Would it be possible/easier to put the glove on after the forearm? Or do I just need to work the angle a bit better Any other feedback is welcome. Continued in next post....

Here's the latest photos the armorer sent me. Needed to clean the right ear where some paint had run. This is pre straps.

Happy to say I heard from Imperial Assembly Line today he plans to have my kit finished this weekend. Now I really need to finish my Mando kit so I can get my E-11 done.

Allow me to reintroduce myself...
Waya Chetan replied to Waya Chetan's topic in New Member Introductions
Will definitely post some photos here soon. Sadly, with the exception of the Deluxe Trooper helmet I'm wearing in my updated profile pic, all the other buckets I've printed, while Star Wars related, they're not TKs or CTs. Otherwise I would love to show them off. LOL Pretty proud of my bucket wall. -
I ended up going to Imperial Assembly Line/ Shawn Cantey to finish my build for me. Definitely bit off more than I could chew with my lack of experience and other issues that got in the way. Oddly enough I think if I had started with my 3D printed Mandalorian kit as my first costume, I may had been better off, since I was just problem solving rather than going an established route, so I understand the process better now.

Allow me to reintroduce myself...

My wife's words...."They don't know the half of it". So far I've printed a Deluxe Mandalorian suit for me and a Deluxe Bo Katan for my daughter. The wall behind me in my new profile pic currently has 8 helmets on it. (Graphite powder is great for getting the Beskar look btw.) Ironically, still haven't finished my E11 -
Just to verify I am still alive....

Hey Guys, Started a build over a year ago, then the pandemic exploded, plus my wife had some health issues, so my 501st dream got put on hold. Eventually reached out to Shawn Cantey of Imperial Assembly Line, (Pretty sure he's a Carolina Garrison member), to finish my build as I had clearly bitten off more than I can chew. He's down to the strapping, so will be putting my app in soon for my ANH Stunt TK. Picked up a new hobby in the meantime, directly related to my search for an E11. 3D Printing. Now I just need to assemble the one I printed. Meantime, I've got 3 printers going nonstop these days. (Currently printing a Mandalorian kit.) Anyway, I'm back.

Appreciate the tutorial. Thank you.

Thanks guys. Cleared that up

Spent my build time today working on gluing the suit, (slow process with the limited amount of spring clamps I have, but can keep buying more.), putting in my frown screen and assembling my belt. Question on the holster... I'm a little confused by the wording in the CRL, specifically "The holster is affixed with only two fasteners at the bottom, one on each side." So does that refer to how the holster is affixed to the belt by the 2 straps up top?
