  1. Hi, I would like to recommend to take a look at this post to have some tips for return edges. It's always a great help if we can see some photos to give a better tip.

At this Stage (painter's tape stage), they looks good, probably you 'll need to use wider cover strips in the back, they are ususally 20 cms in the front and 25 cms in the back (you could increase back to 30 cms) but I would think in this issue later. I would suggest not to trim more and let the back cover strips till de final. continue with the great work on your armor.

  7. Hi Rob, for me , the helmet is the most challenging part of the armor build. Glen has gave you so useful info and I can add the following saying: "Measure twice or more, look at , others build thread, reference photos, and trim and glue once" Good luck and looking forward for your advances.

  12. Hi, This painter's tape fit looks good, in most cases there' a minimum gap in Back/Kidney , I should wait till the strapping stage to look how things match.

I'm sure you're going to make your dream come true. remember. Post Tons of photos, ask questions, review the CRL reference photos , other troopers build threads, measure twice or more, cut and glue once. About your question about outside thigh, could you post some photo please? It would be better to be clear about the issue. Cheers.

  20. Hi Jonathan, great to know you're going make the fix. What I did las time in a case like this was to : 1-remove old rivets both sides (ab/kidney) 2-glue a small piece of ABS behind the old hole. 3-fill with abs 4- sand to smooth surface 5- apply automotive polish wax 6-measure the new rivets location and mark down 7- drill the new holes 8-place the rivets 9-mark the new rivets position from AB to Kidney , drill and place them. NOTE: I highly recommend to make the Ab side first. About your Kidney flat /level top, If It was my case, I would try to reshape the return edge a bit either with hot bath or and iron tool. Hope this can help to have an idea of what to do. Cheers
