  1. All good ideas, thanks for the advice guys
  2. Hi guys, So, I had an amazing time at my first Celebration, it was so great seeing so many members from around the world, unfortunately after 4 days of trooping, my shoulder bridges have taken even more of a battering, I've repainted them so many times already, I haven't kept up my troop log and I've done 21 troops already with Celebration and it keeps cracking so I think I'm going to replace them with the more traditional ABS. Does anybody have any shoulder bridges, ready to go preferably, if not, I'll see if Ross can send me some over, thanks
  3. I use magic eraser sponges to get rid of scuffs, they work really well if you add a spot of water
  4. Absolutely tremendous work! Thanks so much
  5. What a shame it's only available in the US, hopefully it'll come to the UK sometime
  6. Thanks for the advice, it is latex so I'll get some white acrylic paint, you're right, it is already painted so should be fine with a fresh coat of paint hopefully
  7. Thanks, I'll glue some ABS to the back. I do have some elastic holding it down. What would you paint it with?
  8. Hi, I've now done my 4th troop and already, my suit is in need of repair, as you can see, I've now got a nice crack coming up on my shoulder strap, the other side has a couple of bits of paint missing too although I don't think it's cracked, what would you use to repair it and paint? Many thanks for your help
  9. Troop number 3 on 7th August, local family fun day in aid of The Smiling Family Charity, set up to entertain children and families that are too poorly to go on holiday, really enjoyed it, again not many of us there so there were lots of smiling faces, they also had a DJ, a puppeteer, a couple of other costumed characters and bouncy castles and carnival games, all in all a great day. The photos are taken from the charity's Facebook post, I'm the TK holding the alpaca!
  10. Troop number 2, the 1st official one without induction! This was a very small event, a charity kid's football match (soccer for the Americans!). There were only 3 costumes including me and 1 crew member so I had a lot more attention on me than expected but coped okay with it, even doing the odd bit of talking although I'm still waiting for my Tramp so it's not very loud, that's probably a good thing though! Need to practice that American accent! Also got the 1st bit of rain on my suit
  11. 16/07/22 At 4 Kingdoms Adventure Park in Thatcham, Reading in aid of The Royal British Legion Some photos of the day My induction event! It was very hot but great fun, spent the morning crewing and learning the trade and did 40 minutes in the suit. Had lots of pictures with kids, definitely caught the bug!
  12. I'm in love with those purge troopers, always loved black and red colour scheme. Haven't even done my first troop yet and already considering another costume!
  13. About an hour and a half for me! better than a flight across the pond! Hotel booked, my daughter's coming too and excited Hoping to be in my 1st FISD photo, be great to meet others from around the world
  14. You're right there, I might have used a lazy Sunday as an excuse for an impromptu photo shoot today!
  15. Thanks Dan, I can't thank you enough for all the help you've given me
  16. Hi everyone, my name is Jim and I'm from Royal Leamington Spa in England! Nobody uses the Royal bit apart from visiting comedians to take the mick and it's really not as posh as it sounds! I started this journey way back in 2019 when the world was a very different place, I bought my kit from RWA along with an E11 kit from Doopy-Doos and began building. The only problem is I have as much proficiency in building things as I do making the Kessel run in 12 parsecs! I started with the E11 and after many mistakes and extra things bought to rectify my weenie-ups I finally finished it and thought, there's no way I'm going to completely ruin my armour by actually attempting to make it! The world then changed and everyone went quiet and my kit stayed in a BBB under the stairs gathering dust. In 2022 I decided enough was enough, (well, my wife did and said I either needed to build it or sell it!), so I decided to seek out somebody to build it for me, they did an amazing job and I only had to make a few adjustments and alterations to get it completely ready for me to troop in. So I am now an official Stormtrooper and it feels amazing! I can't wait to get out there and be part of something that brings so much joy and meet everybody. Happy Easter everyone!
  17. Hi, TK19060 requesting full access please https://www.501st.com/members/displaymemberdetails.php?userID=34679
  18. All black now! Just need to get the inner bolt and spring in and pop the end on and put the stickers on the scope and I'm done! Can't wait to make a start on the helmet now. Look out for the build thread! Thanks so much for your help Dan, I'll be copying from your TK build too along with the RWA videos
  19. Ha ha, mate, it's been a struggle enough to get this far! I've worked in offices all my life and I'm not used to getting my hands dirty so this has been a real eye opener. Going to leave the inner bolt and ejection port and spring silver, everything else will be black although I see the grip and T-tracks now have to look plastic for Centurion? I'm itching to start on the suit so if that's the only thing that holds me back when I'm done I'll deal with it then
  20. Yes, just black, apart from the silver bits, not going to do any weathering at this stage
  21. Very, VERY good! [emoji3] It's been a long time coming
  22. I've put the primer on, hung up on the washing line!
  23. I'm baaaaack! [emoji846] It looks like the family stuff might actually be sorted soon so I'm going to carry on with my TK, here's where I've got to so far
  24. Managed to get the guard off cleanly so I'll put that in the right place. I was hoping to get away with glueing the stock but it's not working so I'm going to drill through and use a countersunk screw, maybe using a little green stuff to cover the screw head
