  1. A lot is going to come down to fitment honestly. I took off all the returns form the crouch area (lower abs and posturer) , and left everything else. I did get a crack though on my first troop at about nipple line on my chest armor, were the return is, so that will have to come off. The return edge on the top of the abs/kidney could be the difference between needing to shim, and not needing to shim. I left mine because I was lucky enough to have lost 15 lbs between ordering and assembling, and that allowed me to create the armor without needing shims, and did not trim incase I ever put the weight back on. I literally have wiggle room in my armor without looking like it is swallowing me. Honestly time. At the end of the day this armor is yours, and will be on you to decide what you like best. if there is a return edge that doesn't NEED to go, leave it, you can always trim it later. mobility is key, for sure. I love my AM armor because of the size, I hope you will too!
  2. everyone selling kits that aren't the manufacturer want like 1.25 times cost plus shipping. seems a little silly to me...
  3. Yes, yes I am, but hello, we have 300 armor parties between now and the end of the year lol. We can work on yours as well
  4. To be fair I stole it. not originally mine but another trooper here on the forum.
  5. YAY!!!! Thank you so much for your time! I will get on these fixes right away and will have my Centurion app in before the next rebellion!
  6. Couple things, first and foremost, you are building a stunt, not a hero, so in my opinion the hero build shouldn't be used to compare to yours. I have looked at a ton s screen references (There aren't many of the trooper from behind) but most have the backs cut out. I did it for mobility and because that's what the CRL shows. But at the end of the day this is your costume. I wont plead with you either way, unless I think what you are about to do will ruin your costume, or make it un-approvable. You have options which is what is great about this. I can tell you though that cutting the back out of mine provided so much more mobility. Side note* while looking at screen shots, I saw quite a bit of the R1 troopers and man do those thighs and Calves look great! they really did a great job on the redesign for comfort and mobility
  7. Good luck trooper. some simple fixes and you will be among the greats! I would also add one other thing to the list of easy corrections. The Hovi Tips, I believe they should be white interior and black exterior, with the white extending to the rim, to simulate wear. But this may just be a minor detail.
  8. YAY!!! congrats!!! I think amazing is an understatement and this armor build is one of my favorites! now get those tube stripes fixed and we will see you and Centurion!!!
  9. Yes sir it is, it acts as a sound dampener. Because I am using the mic that came with the Aker amp, it is not unidirectional, and will cause feedback when the sound bounces off the inside of the helmet and hits the mic in multiple directions. that foam helps to drowned out and deaden any thing other than what hits the mic. It also looks good and adds some weight to the helmet. the fit is tight, and im still playing with it a little. I just ordered my Bluetooth mic so I can be completely disconnected with the helmet. that mic wire sux!
  10. yep perfect. yeah you need to move that snap a lot closer to the actual shoulder bell, that will help tighten things up
  11. Just ordered a Bluetooth Mic (wireless). and have now got Trooper Talk installed. Hoping to figure that thing out. seems like if I talk too loud it cuts right out
  12. yep it is great. I just had my first troop in the TK this last weekend. I will tell you that I found that I need to take even more off the back. to the area where they run sideways, as I had left just a little (Maybe a half inch) on the back and it began digging into the back of my knee. I have a high tolerance for pain, so my first thought was "yeah that's gotta go"
  13. Yes! you can cut the back out of the calf, if you do this I would also do it on the thigh area. Take a look at the screen references, and some of the approved kits here, to see what exactly I am talking about.
  14. He was asking for a photo of the strap the connects the shoulder to the bridge. what we need is the other side of the strap hanging off the top of the shoulder
  15. @StrmTRPR85 I would like to apologize. I was just able to take a better, blown up look at your photos and you are correct. you have not got a gap that shows any undersuit! it was the shadow cast from the chest.
  16. Close those gaps, or completely cut the back out. would be easier to walk also
  17. Good insight. Guess we will have to wait and see what happens. Regardless, hope we have a new trooper soon
  18. ok so just curious, that wasn't on every kit and was more of an on set fix right? so would that really fly here? or maybe just not for L2/L3? would be the same as the belt being too high/low even though it was in the photos from the film
  19. ah ok. thanks for that info. I honestly have never seen that. Love this forum as im always able to learn something new, along with passing what I have learned!
  20. what I did was attach the snap right next to the shoulder, knowing that it was going to pull a little. one other thing you can do is completely remove that return edge. I wish I could show you in person, but what is it doing is causing the shoulder to "pinch" the bicep, and pushing it away from your body. if you take of the return edge it will allow the shoulder to fall closer to the bicep, thus pulling it in to your body.
  21. Hmmm. I sent a PM to Sean last week and there has still been no activity on his account. Hopefully everything is ok!
  22. I don't want to be "THAT GUY" but I hope you have a forgiving GML. The one thing that sticks out to me like crazy is this photo here. Your screws should be on the return edge, not the outside showing of the armor. I am not sure if this will keep you from Basic approval, but I KNOW you aren't gonna start there. you can take this armor all the way to Centurion! I would need the input of a more veteran trooper, but I have honestly never seen the screws in that location. There are other little things (easy fixes) that we can address after basic, you know, when you submit you EIB app, and can get you to that next level. Also! with the TD, when you take off the brackets to paint it, make sure you move the brackets so that they touch both the end caps, and the "keypad". Just curious, did you paint the exposed parts of the snaps in the butt plate? cant see them too well but it does look painted. those parts should not be painted, but don't believe that will effect basic approval
  23. sounds pretty good. you should have a good amount of overlap on that chest to ab part. so could have something to do with the strapping. I feel like in a lot of the photos I can see your black under suit between the peak of the abs and the middle of the chest. If your being made to put the TD on by yourself for practice of dressing at a troop, hopefully you can get someone that is trooping with you to help out, you wont always have a mirror to be able to look at things. I look forward to your review and hope to see your Centurion app soon
