  1. Hello there and welcome! My first armor was a Jimmi FOTK which is definitely something that requires plenty of work, but with patience and dedication you can make a great kit! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  2. Hello and welcome! Definitely check on all your options with vendors. There are tons of great vendors who can assist with armor that are not Anovos. Glad to have you here! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  3. Welcome! Looking forward to your completion! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  4. Hello there! As others have already given great advice before me I will merely mention that the best thing to help me was build a thread on the WIP pages so I could show my progress and get input from other troopers. You’ll find lots of help here that is both constructive and positive!
  5. Hi Sebastian, Welcome. With your armor kit I’d highly recommend starting a build thread on the forums so you can post your build progress and get valuable input from us as you build.
  6. Hi there! And welcome to the FISD.
  7. Hello and welcome sir!
  8. Hi there! Glad to have you here!
  9. Hi there and welcome! I found the FOTK isn’t too rough to build. It’s a little more than an OTTK like some have said, but all armor takes time and work. That being said, the bigger challenge right now is availability of kit suppliers for the FOTK. I’d highly recommend with FOTK and any kit you want to go with to check out the approved vetted vendors list Found here We are here to support you as well!
  10. Currently there is no CRL for the Mandolorian. That’s something that once it is made then it would be something that could be approved and an armor that would be troopable. That being said for personal costuming and nothing 501st you could easily build a Mandolorian costume and then when the CRLs come around make the necessary adjustments to match them. I plan on waiting for an official CRL though. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  11. It’s all business at this point. Vendors that don’t meet expectations will lose and sadly fail. Those that do will gain what the others lost. I don’t want vendors to not succeed, but at the same time services need to be provided and met in a business. I wish there were more FOTK vendors who were solid out there. This kit seems to be the most difficult to meet demand.
  12. Welcome and congrats! Very cool picture too! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  13. I think that’s great to have another FOTK nonetheless. When I finished I think there were only 17 officially approved, so it’s cool you were able to get approved and we have another in the legion!
  14. That’s for sure. I mean I have fiberglass armor and even I still have maintenance I need to do It’s just part of the thing overall.
  15. I’d be more tempted to pro paint it, however I keep seeing there’s some stress areas that crack and fear that pro painting still won’t fix those spots which I hate. I’m sure there will come a day where I retire this armor and then display it and replace it, but for now I will keep updating and fixing. I’ve got things ready to go fix wise and adjustments too. Now just need to paint and prepare for IX.
  16. Following from here! So far looking like some good work!
  17. I know I just commented on your other post, but I agree and think your armor is looking great! Glad to hear you were approved!
  18. Hey Chris, I’m not sure if anyone in the other area responded much. I’ve heard mixed reviews. I have a fellow garrison member as well who has the 850 armor and he’s not been very happy with it. He’s felt it’s flimsy and he’s had to do a whole lot of maintenence and work to get it to a point that it was approved and stays looking good. So if I were to say much, I’d likely exercise caution there, but then again some others have said it’s been great. So they’ve got a mix of reviews.
  19. Hey @Luke starwars, I’ve definitely kept up on some of the ongoing with the armors for FOTKs, even now years after release it seems there’s a very small supply of suppliers for it and there have been many who have run into challenges in providing the armor. This being said definitely check the approved vendors list. Specific to the FOTK from my experience: Of the vendors out there that I know is consistently proven to be most reliable Jimmiroquai is the one that seems to fit that. (That’s my armor by the way) It is fiberglass, so not what everyone always wants. There’s KB props that offers kits, however I’m not sure on how long it may take, most of those who have recently purchased from this vendor say 4 weeks. There are a few others who are emerging with kits however I’d recommend verifying them on the approved vendors list first as again a lot of struggles some members have had come from reasons as to why some are and some are not on that list.
  20. Good work! Can’t wait to see the progression. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  21. This is all fantastic work! Thanks for sharing. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  22. Well, I’m fine with Anovos selling at those prices as long as it means we still keep third parties. I’d still prefer to go support a reliable third party for a better price. However, as we keep learning, reliable, is the key word too. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  23. Galaxies Edge has mine lol. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  24. Same stuff I used. Well good to know as I’m touching up my armor again this summer so I plan on doing that. I’m also going to look into some other car wax items that are better than what I used last time. you may find after a while paint scrapes happen. If so, I’m finding that too and as such it’s a constant touch up.
  25. Agreed. It needs to hurt and make things finally happen. No more games, get your act together. We want Anovos to succeed, but don’t want to be on a sinking ship with them if that’s their end goal anymore. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
