Yes indeed. I’ve wanted an OTTK ever since I made my FOTK. And after making a Scout it made me even more excited for a TK, Let’s be honest, there’s just nothing more fun to see or be part of than a Vader and a TK or a few. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk

Hi Ed, A lot of information has been provided, but a few things that are realities of being a stormtrooper are vision is poor, not a lot a fixing there, but there are ways to make it better. I usually have just learned to look out on eye or the other and not straight on. Some troopers have mentioned they can see through the teeth a bit. Mobility is tough, but the nice thing is you can make some adjustments for leg mobility in the back of the armor. As others have mentioned, so that helps a bit. Glove wise, as a GML I’d recommend whatever you use in submission make sure it’s Rubber or Leather like material as noted in the CRL, but knowing how terrible rubber is to troop in all the time, most GMLs won’t mind if you had something like NOMEX gloves for the standard troop. Also if you intend for higher levels of approval you’ll want to make sure you note what is required before modifying anything so you don’t accidentally make a change that impedes progress there. Denuo Novo Now Offering Assembled FOTK Armor...
FN1313 replied to TheRascalKing's topic in TLJ Stormtrooper
From what I’ve visibly seen it’s very close to what costumers wear in Galaxy’s edge. So it will require some adjustments. The seam in the yoke is still there for sure. But the biggest thing that I am concerned with is a prebuilt costume from them comes with no extra trimmed abs for any reason you’d need it, one in particular is sizing up armor. Which that’s the next thing I hope is understood by buyers. This armor is made for thin guys. So if you have ample calves, thighs, midline…it’s not going to be the best fit without some adjustments. It’s in fact the same reason I cancelled my order years ago and fought for the refund, because it was not going to fit me. I personally try to recommend to those who ask me in our garrison to buy kits and learn to build as it will save a lot of headaches, but as we all understand, this isn’t always going to happen. The mention of “professional builders” concerns me as that’s just marketing speak to get attention. It’s very much like anyone who sells a costume and says “It’s 501st approvable ready to go” anyone of us who knows or is a GML understands that’s a statement that’s not really accurate. Fiberglass First Order Stormtrooper - New Build-Paint
FN1313 replied to TKH 9045's topic in Assembly, Mods, and Painting
Hello and welcome. When I built my kit like others have said I used rattle can paint, however I did not know as much about true automotive quality paint and what wonders it does compared to “close enough paint” So definitely focus on the information they’ve provided. First you will need to prepare the surface…a lot, at first you don’t always see the blemishes, then as you prime they pop out, then you fill and prime again, and see more. So just know that’s going to be a process, but well worth the effort. Another thing you can use to help is Bondo spot filler putty. It’s not as heavy duty or strong as straight bondo, but it’s purpose is specifically to fill small little blemishes just like those on this armor kit. Next as mentioned do high quality automotive paint. The shine and quality is leagues better than anything you find just on shelves at most local stored. I also highly recommend a good automotive quality polyurethane clear coat, otherwise known as a 2k gloss clear coat. Not only does it add to the luster of a shiny TK, but the protection is so necessary for an armor like this. It will help in those areas (biceps against ribs, chest against abdomen, thunder thighs) so they aren’t rubbing paint off and forcing you to sand and remain between every troop. Exciting to see your progress. Mine just shipped. Helmet will come later as I opted to have that done for me. Save me some time on a part that won’t need custom sizing. Can’t wait to join in on the madness. Also glad to have read about the UV layer with cover strips. I too had no idea. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk

Yeah I will for sure need the d ring. Though that shouldn’t be too bad, just drill the hole through and install it. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

I decided to pick up an E-11 blaster from a vendor on Etsy. Link removed by staff (agreed on by me. The vendor is not a reputable individual) They had some great reviews and the images I saw looked really solid for a rubber blaster. Considering how difficult it can be to find rubber blasters I was happy to give it a shot. I did find out later though that there are some reasons why this seller is not approved on the forums that are due to criminal activity that is not something worth supporting. I would encourage anyone reading my thread for inspiration to avoid this vendor and instead purchase from a vetted vendor. https://imgur.com/a/dsMkdsU Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Hello, I just got a submission and noticed the back strips of the thighs are very wide. Personally they look well beyond expectation and the CRL reference images, but there’s not specific width detailed on the CRL so I wanted to run this by detatchment to see if my expectations are beyond basic approval or in agreement with adjustments needed. thanks.

Once again, time to start another journey of armor building. I just put a down payment for a Dave’s DarkSide Depot armor set. I’ve heard he is one of the better options for larger troopers and my thighs and calves definitely need absolutely all the width I can get compared to some kits. All those squats make armor worse to fit lol. Anywho, just like my FO build kit I will detail the process here. I’m having Dave build the helmet out for me just because I’m not full of time in life like before, but beyond that I will build the rest. I am aiming to get centurion status. Components Hard Parts Helmet and Armor Kit - Dave's Darkside Depot (AM 4.5 or 5.0) E-11 Blaster - link removed by staff (agreed on by me) This being said I eventually will work to get a more extreme level of accuracy in a blaster. For now I will live with what I have. I share this note here just to recommend others don’t follow my same mistake in vendor selection for the blaster and instead look for a different vendor as shared in the post above. Well this kind of fizzled after some time. Had a baby, changes in work and life in general. Due to all of this I really haven't been able to dedicate the same time to building these files and honestly I wouldn't trade time with my newborn for anything. If the detachment wishes to delete this thread please feel free to do so.

TK-10346 - Reporting for duty

Nice and shiny! Congrats! -
Thanks all for the help, yeah I’ve shared this information with the owner so they can know where to go from there. They likely bought a set of decals and didn’t realize there were tons of differences worth noting.

Excellent thanks for the update. I plan on finding ways we can help get this trooper approved, so this was the one spot I wanted to be more specific.

Hello all, I had a question regarding approvable tube stripe decals on a helmet. Here’s a picture of the decals I see and I’m curious if each blue stripe needs to be cut out separately and put on leaving no white decal or if it’s okay to apply the whole sticker including the white space:
