  1. Welcome to the dark side Chris. Might I suggest you begin a build thread? You can document your progress and if you have questions or concerns as you go you can get quick responses and guidance. Sent from my sorrosuub C1 comm link device using Tapatalk
  2. Welcome Brad, TK's are the best and unfortunately there will never be enough of us around to properly defend the empire! Sounds like you've got a lot of great help right there in your Garrison. That UKSwrath fella has been heard of all around and has great stuff. Sent from my sorrosuub C1 comm link device using Tapatalk
  3. It's an ugly mess that I need to clean up a bit but, it's in the cheek well. Sent from my sorrosuub C1 comm link device using Tapatalk
  4. Size wise I have used a couple of packs that were single port just like that ATOM and ANKER you linked to in my bucket. They fit ok. I'm using a lipstick charger now with a single port and I have wired up a old breadboard section with some switches so I can turn my two pairs of fans on and off independently as well as my hearing assist.
  5. Welcome Dave! It is a load of fun isn't it? I got to 9 troops in my ANH TK before all this happened. We're all dying to get back out there. Since you already gotten bit by the bug you have the advantage of not missing anything while you build.
  6. Welcome Dan. It may seem daunting but once you've completed one piece you'll sit there starting at what you've made feeling a sense of glorious satisfaction and feel invigorated to complete another. Keep researching and preparing my friend. You've just stepped aboard a rollercoaster of pride. Sent from my sorrosuub C1 comm link device using Tapatalk
  7. I realized this too late and didn't fix it.. I meant to say Sven, please tell me there's more but got mixed up.
  8. Dracotrooper, please tell me there's more to your build !
  9. Welcome Derek! Definitely a good time to put to good use.
  10. Welcome Jakob! Very excited that you are already aiming for Centurion. Keep in mind that you can be doing all the Centurion level things when you do your first build and after your basic approval apply for the Expert Infantry and then Centurion in order.
  11. Thanks, gmrhodes13. I updated the images after I finally broke down and got an imugr account so they should stay put now.
  12. Welcome to FISD Domingo!
  13. I'm curious about the elastic straps you mention you are planning to add under your feet. Are you having problems with the calves riding up? Gravity should hold them down and a strap outside your boot wouldn't look right. I also think one inside your boot would become uncomfortable. I have noticed some folks place a piece of velcro on the front of the boot near the top above the ankle and inside of the shin to keep them from coming up. I usually find myself placing my shins on after I have my thighs and boots on since it goes around the boot so getting that strap under foot may be difficult.
  14. Thanks troopers, I spoke to the teacher today and even though we will all be remote learning until the end of the school year because of the Corona virus they still want more postcards. So, if you are outside the US and willing to send one please drop it in the mail to help these kids learn about the greater world. Many thanks, TK41469
  15. Greetings Andy! I too am going kind of crazy. The weekend everything blew up around here I was set to do 3 troops in 2 days and finally hit troop number 10 and my first trooping award! But don't despair we will all be fulfilling the emperors wishes soon enough.
  16. Welcome to FISD Collin! Here is a forum full of other R1 build threads. There aren't very many among our ranks just yet but I would suggest you take a gander in there and see if that answers some of your questions. https://www.whitearmor.net/forum/forum/196-rogue-one-build-threads/
  17. Congrats trooper! Now we see if EIB and Centurion are in the forcast.
  18. Welcome Shane! I second using Ukswrath's Anovos build thread if you are building an Anovos kit. It helped me with mine and was immeasurably useful. But, be sure to check out other peoples build threads too. You'll learn many other things good and bad, mistakes to avoid and so much more! It's great to have you here!
  19. Welcome to FISD Matthew! Have you seen this incinerator CRL? It shows a couple variants mainly in regards to weapons. If there are updates forthcoming you're probably in the right place and someone more knowledgeable will chime in soon. Doing this with your kids is an amazing experience.
  20. Welcome to FISD Frederic.
  21. Welcome Mark. Be sure to take a look at the build threads and even use the research time to decide if you're going to go standard, Expert Infantry or Centurion with the level of detail you wish to accomplish.
  22. Welcome to FISD Santiago!
  23. I was fascinated by the serial number mod that T-Jay did with 2mm stamps when I read through his build thread. I measured the area to be numbered and initially planned on using 1/16th steel stamps to mark 12 characters which are a little smaller and would be about 1.5mm. Using a couple pieces of scrap paper I ran a few test runs on spacing and my ability to imprint them in a straight and even fashion. Eventually I figured out I could squeeze 16 characters in the provided space and kept revising the spacing I was allowing myself. I think it's possible using the size stamps I have that all 16 might fit in the space provided but I like the pattern I have. DSG_1_977_SAW_41469. DSG is my Garrison, 1+977 the year ANH was released, SAW is my initials and 41469 my TKID. The number / letter format is not conventional but hey It's the blaster I want right? After I got better at making them straight I decide to just see if I could get my first character over enough and just pressed the stamp to the resin. I was astonished that is made an imprint! So thinking I was onto something I just pressed on so to speak. But then I saw that the neatness and clarity I wanted wasn't there. Next, I drilled out the area with my Dremmel and filled it with the green stuff. I will caution you, a little green stuff goes a very long way. I ended up with way more left over than I needed, even to fix the few little oops I wanted to fix with green stuff. It's not as pretty as I wanted and a little lumpy. If it doesn't sand nice I may redo this.
