  1. Congrats Scott! Welcome to the detachment!
  2. Hello from sunny Arizona! The world needs more TK's so get to work trooper! Looking forward to seeing your build.
  3. I don't currently have a strap from teh Bicep to the Shoulder but I am going to put one on because I have one bicep that likes to come loose and rotate. I have the ABS hooks that the elastic hangs onto as it goes across the opening of the bicep but depending on how I move it can jump the track so to speak and then it moves around and gets wonky.
  4. Looks like I get to be the first update of the new year?! Just hit the 25 mark! Requesting update. Thank you!
  5. (24) Tucson Road Runners Star Wars Night TK W/ CDZ 4861, CDZ4877 While on routine patrol at the hockey game my partner and I discovered these two jawas conspiring to hijack the ice from the arena. Turns out they thought transporting it back to their homeworld of Tattoine in it's solid form was going to be easy.
  6. Welcome aboard Michael! Once you've made your choice on armor maker don't forget other things like a trusty blaster. Sometimes you can work on your other parts and pieces while you await BBB (Big Brown Box day). And definetly start a build thread once you get started. It's the best and fastest way to get feedback from others who've built armor on any questions you might have along the way.
  7. Welcome aboard. I agree with the crowd here. Order now and fill you're time with all the other parts, blaster, detonator, gloves, etc. Sometimes it takes a while for your kit to arrive. Once you are happy with your weight get started on the suit itself. Congrats on the weight loss so far. You're almost there.
  8. (20) 10/21/2021 Tucson Boo at the Zoo TK W/ CDZ 4861, CDZ4877, CREY4878 No Deal Jawa! I couldn't resist taking this pic. My #2 Jawa fell asleep on the job.
  9. Awesome job! Can't even see the repairs. Keep it up!
  10. Bobby, if you're at all handy with a solder gun you can build a lot of those things for yourself. I have fans in my helmet and live in Arizona. The moment I put my bucket on my head the lenses will fog up without the fans. Problem with my fans are they are so loud I can't hardy hear anything else. So I also wear noise cancelling earbuds that are plugged into a hearing assist system I built for myself from a Vellman kit you can find online usually for less than $20. For a speaker and chatter I built a TK Talkie which has many options such as a voice changer, background loops, and the ability to play sounds that are cued from buttons. There are very good instructions and support to help you along no matter which options you decide to go with.
  11. Hi John, have you guys considered making a TK Talkie for her? It is a build it yourself unit that has a voice changer, the ability to use buttons to play pre-recorded audio if you wish, and automated TK clicks and pops etc. It is a do it yourself electronics project and fairly inexpensive. I use one in my TK and get regular comments about how good it sounds. I have made 4 of them now for my TK, Gonk, and Jawa's.
  12. As a person who was once ridiculed for telling the new boss "I built a computer over the weekend" I totally get your apprehension. But you can totally do this. It might seem a little scary at first but you have plenty of us here to help you along. All you need to do is start a build thread when you get your armor and post your progress.
  13. Hey Matt I had a similar problem getting those Ab rivets just right the first time except I was too far in . Here's a link to my build where I fixed the holes using some circular plugs and Kmans ABS Paste tutorial. My TK Build
  14. Welcome to FISD Sean!
  15. That's a great Boba. And you're hitting it all out of the park. There's never enough white amor in the field. Welcome aboard!
  16. I have it pointing down and to the right if you are looking down the barrel so let's say 5 o'clock. Maybe these pictures will help?
  17. Hi Pola, I placed my strip into a clear acrylic tube. Then I could slide it down the barrel without it getting stuck on something along the way and bunching up.
  18. That is a lot of effort that will be well rewarded when complete. Looks like this isn't your first rodeo.
  19. Welcome aboard trooper! Looking forward to you tackling those higher levels.
  20. Welcome to FISD Bobby! Looks like you are well on your way. Looking forward to watching your build thread!
  21. Hey there Andrew! Glad you've posted on here. When I bought my armor I felt the same way as you do. I didn't have the confidence or the know how to do it on my own. I wanted to partner up with someone to help guide me in person and lead me down the correct path. My armor arrived and ended up sitting in it's big ole box waiting for me to do something with it for way too long. I never had any luck connecting with the local garrison just because of my work schedule and the only offer of assistance I got was from someone who said they would build my armor for me and give it back. So I checked out build threads right here on FISD, looked at the EIB (Expert Infantry Level 2) and Centurion (Level 3) applications that others made with armor from the same vendor and eventually spoke to someone else I found who has armor and they're advice was simple, "start with one piece". By then I had gotten sick of looking at my pieces just sitting in that box so I started with one piece. I was so nervous about making the wrong cut but I followed along with a build thread that someone had made. Once I did that, it was on like Donkey Kong. I started my own build thread and any time I had a question or concern I would post that into my build thread. Usually by the end of the day or even within hours I would have answers and suggestions pouring in to help guide me along. Despite having only ever met a couple of the folks I talk to on the forum in person, I got way more help from them than I did from anyone in person. The camaraderie here is second to none. We are troopers helping troopers (even the aspiring trooper ). So ask your questions and feel confident that you have come to the Mecca of screen accurate stormtrooper and when you are ready, Build that beautiful set of armor so you too can be one of the bad guys doing good!

  23. Way to go sir! Congratulations and welcome to the Garrison.
  24. How is the delay using this Bluetooth transmitter and your earbuds? I tried a similar setup and there was a very noticeable one.
  25. Once again Glen saves my day! Thanks Glen, that works. I used to get a link from a button on the side but simply copying the address with a right click does the trick!
