Hello Matthew, Nothing wrong with collecting helmets, helmets are a lot of fun to collect. However, in your original post, you stated: Do you also have a helmet from Authentic Props that you did not wear for these photos? You have the EFX and the one from Cyber Craft, (which I had never heard of until I looked them up after seeing your post). Just trying to sort out where you are at with your bucket situation. Per the CRL for the ANH Stormtrooper: https://databank.501st.com/databank/Costuming:TK_anh_stunt Note: The helmet is accurate in detail and proportion to official references. Many commercially available helmets or those considered disproportionate in size or shape are ineligible. Please be aware of this component and the additional helmet requirements if you want to eventually pursue EIB and Centurion approval. Your helmets look to be a solid single cast. Typically, TK helmets are constructed from several pieces from vaccuformed ABS molds (the face, cap, and ears). See this thread for an example of how they are constructed: Please don't hesitate to ask if you have any particular questions about a helmet that you intend to use for your approved costume. If you are just buying commercial helmets to collect that is your prerogative, but please be mindful of the CRL Requirements when looking for a helmet to get approved with the 501st. -
tk37423 from Instagram here. I hope the modifications you GML requested don't give you too much of a hard time. I agree the size of your biceps and forearm pieces could be reduced. Unless your arms are too large and they must be that size to fit you properly. Reducing the return edges on the shoulder bells and making the biceps smaller will definitely help with the gap between your chest and shoulders. What holster are you currently using? If you're looking for a good replacement I'd recommend one from Darman's Props: https://darmansprops.com/products/stormtrooper-e-11-holster-anh-with-tan-straps

Hey Matthew, How are you keeping your thighs on? Are you using a belt and straps connected to the front of the thigh with loops that go through the belt? Or do the thighs connect to the inside of the abdomen armor with snaps or velcro? If they connect to the inside of the abdomen armor then that's probably why they seem too low, because your abdomen armor is sitting too low. It looks like you need to shorten the straps that connect the chest armor and the abdomen armor so the whole piece is pulled up closer to your chest. The top of the abdomen piece should sit under the bottom of the chest piece. It looks like your belt is giving you trouble because it's not one solid piece in the front, Is that correct? The belt seems to be relatively thin fabric and not supporting the combined weight of the belt face, drop boxes, holster, and thermal detonator. One option there, which I did, is to get a new canvas belt with a plastic insert so it's more rigid and keeps its shape, and stays in position. Rob Kittle makes very good belts which can be found here, https://imperialissue.com/product/canvas-belt. Could you post a photo of the belt construction (from the reverse side), the inside of the chest connected to the abdomen, and how your thigh pieces are connected? Might be able to give more insight on how to correct the problems those pieces are giving you. It's cool to finally see some photos of you in your armor! You're getting there! -
Sure enough. I was aware some of the screen used member costumes went for auction but I didn't know one of them wound up at Planet Hollywood. Funny I just happened to stumble upon it by chance. Thanks for sharing the additional photos and the article. They did not do that armor any justice with the way they have it displayed. Here's mine on a PVC and duct tape mannequin that didn't cost $14,000.00 to have on display in my living room.

I think this armor is the one in the first Propstore link posted: https://usm.propstoreauction.com/lot-details/index/catalog/267/lot/62859?url=%2Fauctions%2Fcatalog%2Fid%2F267%2F%3Fpage%3D30%26view%3Dlist There is a chip in the vocoder in the Propstore TK that can be seen in the same location for the Planet Hollywood TK. There is a visible crack in the cod piece that can be seen in both. Also, the top edge/gap of the right thigh piece looks to be the same. Interesting this ended up in a restaurant on Disney property.

I went to Disney World over the Christmas holiday and my family and I went to Planet Hollywood in Disney Springs. On the second floor they have a Stormtrooper costume on display with a sign that says it was used in The Mandalorian TV show. It definitely looks to be a 501st costume and I was wondering if anyone knows the history of how this particular costume came to be on display in this particular themed restaurant. I only got the one photo of the costume because there was a family trying to eat their dinner directly in front of where the costume was displayed and I was trying to not be intrusive.

Coach_MattLewis is requesting pre-approval review
GoofTrooper replied to Coach_MattLewis's topic in Request TK Pre-Approval
Hello Matthew, While its not really possible to do a full pre-approval review until you post the photos of you wearing the armor there is one thing I noticed. You mentioned that you are aiming for Centurion level out the gate. For Level II (and Level III) approval your boots cannot have a seam on the front of the boot. From the CRL: OPTIONAL Level two certification (if applicable): There is no seam present on the front of the boot. Boots have a black sole If you're looking to apply for EIB and Centurion upon Basic approval you will have to replace the boots for ones without seams. Nice work with the photos of your armor! I look forward to seeing you all suited up! -
New to armor and would like help in Arizona.

Hello David! Welcome and congratulations on your kit! I live in North East Phoenix and just started my penultimate semester for my Electrical Engineering degree so I may not have time to help one-on-one right now but I a happy to help as much as I can. Like Glen mentioned, go sign up on our local forum at https://commlink.duneseagarrison.com/ We do have quite a few members who live in the east valley so there may be someone there who can help who is a bit closer to you. We also have armor parties, which are usually hosted by a member of the garrison at their home, where you can go to get help with the build. You can find those sort of events once you sign up on the local forum. We also have a meet and greet about once every couple months where members and prospective members meet for some food, to hang out, and to have any questions you may have answered. Our last one was in December and I don't believe the next one is scheduled yet. Let me know if you have any questions! -

Wow! Very impressive work! -
Thanks for the update. They are very nice blasters and hopefully he gets back up and running one day. I'm over lugging my resin blaster around and a rubber one would be great.
-
Just curious, what ever happened with these blaster orders?

Hello Matt and welcome! I am a member of Dune Sea Garrison (Northeast Phoenix). Let me know if you have any questions about the Garrison. You're already in the right place for any Stormtrooper questions!
