ParaDax started following DC's ANH Anovos Build and Mystery Maker Armor!

Hello! I recently found a deal on Facebook marketplace for a full TK kit for $50. It was a landlord selling left behind stuff from an old tenant and they had no idea what it was or where it came from, just wanted it gone. Can anyone help me identify it? I’m not well versed in the different TK makers. I know it’s not Anovos for sure since I already have one. I’ve seen suggestions this could be a WTF set but I’m not sure. Thanks in advanced! UPDATE* After moving around a lot for work I got back on the saddle and got the forearms mostly done this weekend, hopefully biceps will be done next. Any good tips on getting off the excess E6000? Thanks ! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Alright so I got some curved craft scissors and trimmed one forearm's return edge to see how it would turn out. Of course it will need sanding, but is this closer to what it needs to be if aiming for centurion status? Also I'm concerned how much room I need to leave for padding so I show how much is typically left "hanging" if you will? I attached pics on the piece taped on showing the space left. Different end-to-end magnetic calf closure system

I love idea and execution of this! Definitely gonna have to try this method out on my build now. Ordering magnets now. Thanks Colin! -
Hello! This build IS NOT dead, I work in healthcare and with the craziness that was 2020 it really put this project on the back burner. I was feeling inspired and broke the kit back out and I finished all the rough trimming. Taped up the forearms and biceps for a rough fit. I was told return edge is for those pieces will need to be trimmed off for screen accuracy and higher level certification. Excited to keep this going! Sent from my Pixel 5 using Tapatalk

Alright, so I've taken my big brown box out of storage and started to lay out everything. I had forgotten I had actually bought some E6000 for this build so that's a good start. I will probably follow Ukswrath's build closely. The more I've studied it the more I have liked how he has things put together. Here are some pics of part of the kit. I also included a picture of the harness that fell out, a look into the bucket etc. It looks like the lense also fell off with the harness. Also attached are pictures of the E-11 I was talking about. Here goes nothing. [emoji2369] Sent from my SM-N950U using Tapatalk

Hello everyone! I've lurked for a long time on these forum's and I decided it was time for me to stop procrastinating. Back in 2015 I pre-ordered the Anovos TK armor with completed helmet. Ever since I received it, the helmet has sat on display and the armor pieces have sat in its brown box for the most part. At one point I had gotten some pieces out and started scoring some edges while follwing the instructions provided by Anovos. That being said, once I got to a certain point I felt very uncomfortable with continuing on due to fear of messing it up, ruining pieces and undersizing them. Since then I have moved states and am living on my own in an apartment which doesn't give me the best work area either for it. I am tired of beating around the bush though. Some initial questions: The original helmet liner (or harness rather) has all but fallen out. The adhesive they used was terrible. Are there any recommendations as to a better replacement for this? Even with the harness it felt like I was a bobble head. I need something more secure. I have an E-11 replica I purchased online a few years ago, but I'm really unsure if it is up to 501st standard. It isn't a Hasbro repaint, but it seems to be mostly wooden in build. I will post pictures later of the prop. Are there any guidelines that would be better followed from other's experience in builds other than the Anovos instructions? It is helpful but it seems like it has a formula to it for the most build, and I want mine to last for a while and troop in. I've seen where many have point out that the belt that comes with the Anovos TK's don't seem to hold up well, what other alternatives are there? I appreciate any help and feedback, and I can't wait to finally get this thing finished! Pics will be posted soon. Thanks

ParaDax started following Jedi: Fallen Order Flame Trooper

It looks to me that the new Flame Troopers designed for this game took direct inspiration from the original Ralph McQuarrie Snowtrooper designs for the Empire Strikes Back concept art. I'm conflicted about it considering there are Incinerator Troopers already Canon again thanks to their feature in the upcoming Mandalorian show. Overall though it is a good translation to a realistic style, and fits in with other units such as the AT-DP Driver from Rebels. What are your thoughts? Sent from my SM-N950U using Tapatalk

Hey guys! I'm a complete newbie when it comes to actual armor building, but I've had my Anovos armor for quite some time stored away. I started losing weight and I told myself I wouldn't build it until I felt at a comfortable enough size and weight to build it. Well here I am, 70 lbs lighter than what I was, from 270 lbs to 200 lbs and I'm ready to start troopin! I printed off the Anovos instruction booklet and have used that as a guide, although from extensive forum studying I made sure the get E6000 adhesive instead of cyanoacrylate glue like it said. Other than that I've barely started it. I've used the score and snap method for most of the upper half of the body, and that's as far as I've gotten, as I thought it to be wise to post on here for pointers and assistance. So let me have it people! All criticism and advice is welcome. Sent from my SM-N920V using Tapatalk

Well I bought one, took it out to the car, assembled it, and I gotta say, it was a fantastic looking piece. But then I learned the hard way that my big fat head doesn't fit in the thing. Such a disappointment for me. I returned mine, so hopefully some other lucky person gets it. It was defintely to scale, but the think part where the battery compartment and speaker housing made it too tight for me. I hope Anovos or an independent artist comes out with a Rogue One trooper option.

Based on the way the indention's look, either those are going to require a good repaint, or filing out those vents and adding thin blue sheets of plastic underneath. I feel like it will give it a more edgier and screen-accurate look based on the high res photos shown from celebration. Then fill ion those speaker slits, smooth out the battery cap, and see if something can be down about that brow. I think this will definitely be a cool little project.

I posted it on CT.net so I will repost it here as well. I am posting this as a buyer beware post because of this infamous recaster and scammer, Bentley O'Toole. I almost was a victim of his scamming I believe. He has an Esty page call "Filmpropz" and I contacted him about purchasing a full size B1 Battle Droid. I asked him how he came about getting the casts of the battle droid (because he said they came from original Fox studio castings) and he said he had worked at ILM for Star Wars: Episode 3. So I googled his name out of curiousity and I was in shock at what a reputation this guy has on The Dented Helmet, the RPF and other such places. Watch out for this guy, because he will talk you up. He messaged me on Etsy constantly telling me about his work and such stuff. He also has an Instagram now called 3dcreativeaustralia, and looks like a Facebook link is also in the description. So buyer beware for 3D Creative Australia and Filmpropz on Etsy, it is for a fact Bentley O'Toole. Reason being on why i'm posting this on here is the fact he also has Stormtrooper armor kits as well as Clone Troopers and Snowtroopers on his page and I don't want anybody to get scammed. From the research I've done on this guy, Police have been looking for this guy for a good while. https://www.etsy.com/shop/Filmpropz
