Bob's ROTK 850 Armor Works Build Thread

I did remove that. My forearms have thin strips on the inside to hold the two halves together. Then the resin strips over the seams. I had to also sand my resin strips down a bit from the bottom as they were to thick otherwise. -
I have my belt front permanently attached to the strip onnthe bottom of the ab plate, and snap plates onnthe inside where my cod attaches. I still have the rear strip but it's cut out the width of the center kidney plate. My back closes differently from what others have done. I have an interior plate that snaps in to close the torso, and the seperat ab plate velcro over it. My butt plate has straps that snap it to the lower strips on either side. And the back of my belt velcro over it and attaches at the sides over lapping the front belt ends. Sent from my SM-N986U using Tapatalk

Your first picture where it's missing is from a Hot Toys figure. The front of my belt attaches to that part. Sent from my SM-N986U using Tapatalk

I got one of the first R1TK kits from 850. I love my kit, but initially there was a lot of guesswork because no one had an abs kit before. So had to do a lot of guess work and comparing to threads with Jim's kit, and a lot of online and forum references. My biggest and only suggestion is ditching the abs shoulder straps as is for sd silicone rubber ones, e sd po specially if you're looking to carry the R1 Patrol Pack. The rubber straps are able to handle continuous use of a pack, and also helps in keeping the straps from sliding off. Sent from my SM-N950U using Tapatalk

I used blue craft foam. Bought a pack like this at Walmart, used the dark blue, which looks darker in the picture vs what it actually is. Cut two rectangles and glued them in. Sent from my SM-N950U using Tapatalk

The R1TK does not have a holster. Alternative is a DLT19 with a sling. Sent from my SM-N950U using Tapatalk

As far as I know only 850 is currently doing the R1 in ABS. As for comfort, about the same, as for mobility, it's all dependent on how you build it and how it fits you. I know I have more mobility than my ANH, and I can suit up on my own with relative ease. A lot of that came about during assembly and how secure I wanted things, and how parts connected. Rogue One TK build, 850Armorworks Kit

I'll get some strapping pics up near the end of the week. All strapping is made from 1" wide black nylon, or 1/2" wide elastic. I use quick connects for the shoulder straps, and the thigh straps. Shoulder straps are connected via snaps to the chest and back plates via snaps, and the shoulder bell connects to a side strap from the shoulder straps. Bicep is attached by elastic strap and snaps to the bell. I highly recommend getting rubber straps instead of the abs that connects the chest and back, especialky if you are ever considering using a pack. Sent from my SM-N950U using Tapatalk -

Screen from first episode. Note the cut vents. We do not need a seperate CRL for the R1/Solo/Mando TKs outside of minor option updates to the main CRL unless there are major deviations. There is zero reason to add a ANH bucket to these TKs. Sent from my SM-N950U using Tapatalk

My cover strips and the back plate of my helmet are not 100% matching either. So I wouldnt stress it. The armor looks good! Sent from my SM-N950U using Tapatalk

The shins are the same for both sides. Sent from my SM-N950U using Tapatalk

I made a block about 2 1/2" long from excess cut off from a thigh cover strip. I drilled two holes through it, the back of the TD, and the belt. I used a 3/4 pop rivet and washer through from the belt, through the block and into the TD to secure it. I'll take a picture tomorrow evening and post it. Sent from my SM-N950U using Tapatalk -
Get a set of files to clean up the cuts. Using an exact may removes to much plastic if you have an accident. You'll have more control with a needle file set. Amazon has sone ver good an inexpensive ones. Sent from my SM-N950U using Tapatalk
