  1. Thank you Joseph. It is always an amazing time at Edmonton’s Pride. Those that joined in for their first time this year were blown away by the response we were greeted with. I’d love us all to troop this one together! If you ever are this way during pride, please please join us [emoji175] Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  2. Parade was 8-9 city blocks. We were fortunate enough to have a members house a couple blocks away from the staging area. You could rent a U Haul and have someone park it near your staging area where you can have kits in and get dressed in stages etc. Just depends how your parade works etc. Id be happy to answer any and all questions you may have I’m excited for your garrison and members! 9. As you know, I love our Prides. For many many reasons. 1. I love supporting anyone in need. Children. Women. Those with cancer. Those suffering depression. Anyone. Regardless of race, color, religion, gender, creed, social status or sexual orientation. My ability to love and support has no limit or conditions. 2. The joy. Happiness. Coming together to support one another. And accept each other for who we all are. Straight or gay. Black or white. 3. The colours!!!!!!! Oh my gosh the colours! Vibrant! Happy! Bright! Full of light and beauty. Stunning. 4. We must come together to silence the monsters such as hate, fear and discrimination. With love, understanding and acceptance. In all things. 5. Our Garrison always works so hard to be sure we represent ourselves, and our Legion in the best light we possibly can. The dedication is commendable and so appreciated. So much pride and love for one another. And acceptance. 6. Can you imagine the deafening screams and cheering from thousands upon thousands of people all smiling and jumping up and down as they see their most loved characters marching in unison looking like they just walked off the movie set???? Decked out in all the glorious colours of the rainbow???? The entire parade they screamed for us. It’s actually unbelievable!!!!!! I honestly invite you all to walk with us next year and experience this phenomenon. It will take you by surprise. I promise you. My face hurt from smiling, and more than once I shed tears of pride for all we are and all we do. * I worked madly sewing this year for my garrison family to create more Pride pieces for us to look tasteful yet stay true to our characters. From Rainbow Brite gaskets, glitter rainbow pauldrons to strategically placed glitter vinyl. My family looked amazing. Each worked hard to be certain their costumes were ready. Some drove 5.5 hours to be there. Some drove 3. We gathered at my Brother Peters (our CO) to sew, and armor build prior as we had 3 members needing help to be approved. All 10 of us worked together to get them finished and submitted so Pride day could be their anniversary. I am proud to say, our Garrison gained another ANH Stunt, TK Commander and an ESB Vader the morning of Pride. And they marched with us along side of our Rebel and Saber Guild Family as their first troop. Exciting, beautiful moments. I love these moments, and each of the humans I shared them with. 10. May. 11-13th You know, it never ceases to amaze me the wonderful things one can witness in a lifetime. Both big and small. I’m grateful for every second. This was Con 3 in 3 weeks... I had traveled 56 hours of driving to attend these 3 and I was SOME tired! Yikes. This Con I chose to attend to support and help my friend Trevor in the Northern area of his province. The Outer Rim covers the province of British Columbia and was once a part of our Garrison. Prince George BC has something called Northern Fan Con, and their 3 members are in the exact same position as the members in the area where I reside. Im thankful to Steve 3 for introducing us. Both very separated from our Mother Garrisons, we really are close to one another. Trevor and I had planned to help each other out, and I committed to traveling the 5.5 hours to them to help troop. Excitedly, I did not travel alone! Our own Trevor (Thrawn/Tusken) and Wanda (Jawa) attended with me on a very enjoyable road trip, where we joined forces with other members from the Outer Rim. Immediately this felt like family. The energy was beautiful, calm, loving and excited. Over the course of the weekend, we shared a lot of laughs, tears, and trooped our hearts out. Met some potential new members for them, did some cool things, hugged Sean Astin, and ate a glorious BBQ brisket and corn bread. NUM! I was fortunate to be chosen for a hospital visit Fri morning where the Garrison awarded a young man a medal for his service to the garrison, and not a day goes by that I don’t hear Vader Nicks mantra playing through my thoughts ...”This will be a day long remembered!” Truer words were never spoken. This entire weekend cannot be forgotten. The running of the Hoods, Matt the Radar technician, Sean Astin signing Kelsey’s blaster (“Goonies never say die!”) sharing all the experiences together with strangers that are now family. Seeing Matt in my chrome lady.... damn.... I saw my armor as I had always dreamed it could be! 6’7” and glorious! I fangirled over it! Almost lost my mind with giddiness! I happily let him troop my shift in her, as I remained in IceHeart... Each and every one of these humans are now tucked safely in my heart. [emoji175] A young boy kept coming back all weekend. Each picture taken, having his father donate more money. Every day, and he always checked for time changes at booth. I spoke with his Father a couple times throughout the weekend, but it was hard in armor. On Sunday, I wasn’t in my Director Isard yet when he came back in his perfect Director Krennic. I told him I must have a pic with him. As Directors. As he promised, he came back and we all took pics together. Matt, Nick, Paul, and Phil presented him with his very own challenge coin and the look in the boys eyes was unforgettable. (Again I hear Vader Nick resonating. ) I quickly blinked away the tears as Isard make up runs bad, then went to speak with his Dad. He confided that he has struggled to feel connected to his son. And was astounded how excited Kallum was, and was feeling it himself. Saying they’ve never connected like this before. That as a Dad, he often struggled. I suggested he sign his son up to the academy, and his sons eyes became saucers! He begged his Dad please please! I then joked he himself could join the Legion and rule the Galaxy as Father and Son. We all laughed. Apparently this experience shifted everything for them. This brings me to my original statement of being amazed at the moments in time you participate in. I’ve experienced so many of them with Legion. Today I received a private message via our Badlands Garrison public FB page. (I’m our PR officer and answer all messages etc) there was a message from this Dad. Regarding his time with us. It reads ... “I would like to thank you and the Outer Rim for helping me connect with my son at Northern Fan Con. I didn't have a clue why he was fascinated with Star Wars until I saw his excitement when he saw a storm trooper and he sent us to your booth. I would also like to thank the lady that requested him to come back and get photos done with her in her character. But when your crew gifted him the 501st coin was the best thing I've ever seen. I did send a message to Outer Rim also. I can't thank you enough for helping. We registered with the galactic academy and he is in the process of picking out my character. Again thank you so much.” After more correspondence today, he learnt that I was the lady in red, and I learnt that Kallum is now currently Galactic Academy member 3897, and that coin that was given to him by those few sweet gentlemen of the Outer Rim has become very special to him indeed. I will cherish my time with those members that made us feel so welcome, and I will do my utmost best to get to Vancouver and troop with them again. I miss them! May the Force be with you all. 14. Expo number 2 for me in this 3 week con circuit. I had promised myself this year on command staff I would attend each of our provinces Expos and support our members and Garrison. Do PR, work hard, encourage membership growth and Garrison fellowship. As the Badlands Garrison is responsible for the provinces Alberta Saskatchewan and Manitoba, I thought it only fair to at least travel once to our Comic conventions or expos throughout our provinces. The first began end of April 26-29 (which miraculously, I just posted!) The next weekend was May 5/6 was Regina Fan Expo. This was a much nicer expo. Less people. More chances to truly talk with people and explaining what we do and why. In hindsight, I should have planned a panel on what we are, but I only decided I could attend this one a week or so before it happened! It’s amazing what one can accomplish if determined! My brother wanted to attend Regina, but as I was already in Calgary, then 2 weeks later in another province trooping for our sister Garrison, I felt I couldn’t attend. Well.... that changed quickly when I looked at the attendance... we talked and felt that if we go all out for Calgary or Edmonton, we must do the same for Saskatchewan and Manitoba’s cons. So, now I was going. And of course I was dragging Peter along! Next my TK twin was coming! Then Damon and Reesa. And Tim! What fun! Road trip! (Stupid long drive after an already long drive there and back to Calgary!) we met up with fellow Albertans Lori and Allen. I was excited! I had not trooped with many of the Saskatchewan members, and I was truly excited to meet them. The drive was 13 hours for me to get there, and the van was loaded to the coconuts with body parts, costumes, crates, legion paraphernalia and excited humans! We arrived tired, cramped, completed set up, had a tasty meal with our host Mike whom graciously accepted ALL of us into his home, then decided to troop the Relay For Life late that night! Wow.... ok... I was tired. Dead tired. But happy. We shared so many laughs, hugs, food and fellowship. I’m SO glad I went. I met more amazing humans I’m grateful to know, shared my Captain with a gentleman that treasured her. Connected with people that I know I will cherish, bonded deeply with the several I traveled with, and most importantly, supported our Saskatchewan province members with energy, more troopers, and comraderie. I had a spectacular time! It means a great deal to me to have shared this traveling experience with my Brother (CO) and my TK Twin (GML) with our dear friends Damon (GWL) Reesa (Handler extraordinaire) and Tim. (Comic relief and PloKoon) we will talk about this adventure for years to come I’m certain! HA! HA HA! [emoji173]️ these things (our Pajama/college frat party sleepover) bring people closer together. Help to build strength within the Garrison, and ultimately the connection we know as family. I love this family! Bring on this upcoming weekend and con 3! 15. Hey trooper family! I’m back with another instalment of trooping adventures! Why not do Calgary Expo! Very busy this year. We had a one stop shopping experience for any costuming goals this year. Together with our sister groups, our booth was big. And looked lovely! Parade of wonders rocked! Our panels on meet the 501st and costuming over 40 were wonderful, our escorts of Vanessa Marshall were so good, pics with Anthony Daniels and Hera, were entertaining and every single person made this Expo an incredible success. We all worked our hardest to give the best con experience we could to all that attended and stopped by our booth. I’m so grateful to be a part of such a beautiful Garrison full of amazing individuals. Once again family, thank you for a great expo [emoji173]️ With a happy heart, TK 41307 SoulArt Badlands Garrison

Wyatt, I did send you an email. Perhaps it didn't come through. [emoji20] If at all possible, at the end of fulfilling pre existing orders, if you have any left over merch, I'd be interested in 2 Riot Trooper coins and 2 Phasma Coins. I utterly missed ordering them, and feel awful... Seriously? A Captain Phasma that was waiting for her coin, and forgot to order? Shameful,! HA. In all seriousness, if you had any spares to sell , I'd gladly take them. Thank you for the consideration. Sent from my STV100-3 using Tapatalk
  18. HEY!!!!! You made it here. I was so excited to see your name here as you begin this journey. Thank you for the honor of creating for your armor. It was my pleasure. Truly. If you need any help, or pictures of piecing armor together, please let me know. As you know my Phasma is a KB Props, and I have appx 1000 pics I'd happily share. I always meant to create a build thread, but I seem to always find something else to sew rather than type. If you need anything, let me know. 25. Frosty day on Hoth. Slightly balmy with a -27* Celsius afternoon. A winters day trooping... pretty average temperatures for this time of year. We celebrate Family Day here in Canada on this weekend, and we were fortunate to get a troop request this day. 4 of the 8 members available in this area attended the day, (with another on a grace troop prior to joining) and we braved the elements to participate in the day with everyone. Though, we couldn't get up on the wagon for the horse drawn rides, we did pose for pics with local Emergency Responders and County Fire Department. Roasted Hot Dogs, drank hot chocolate, and kept the Wampas at bay with our roasting sticks. We huddled around the fire, roasting our goodies, fearful we'd melt our ABS, or Vaders cape would catch on fire! Gratefully I was able to celebrate this Family Day with my Garrison Family, as well as my biological family. I trooped with my Mama Jawa, and had my big son and his wife, young son and cousin join us too. Great troop, with amazing family.
