  1. Welcome!!!!! Life was super weird last year for me, and we / I could not give the Valkyries the love at dedication it needed. I was quite split as far as volunteer duties went. I will be stepping away from several areas this upcoming term, and wish to devote time and energy here. I’ll pop back in after elections are completed and a new term begins. I hope everyone is well. Happy. Healthy. [emoji175] Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

  7. Hi hi!!!! [emoji175] thank you! I’m not feminist in any way. But I am for girl power. And I celebrate our men. In real life and in SW. why Vaders ? Because we all (troopers) were his army? Created for a purpose. And given to him? To utilize? Valkyries (powerful women that served) Historically SW wise makes perfect sense? And our (costumes) were borne from that originally? As was our Detachment? And we (men/women) belong to it? It has a catchy ring to it? And is relevant? Hahaha. I don’t know… why not? Tell me your reasons you don’t care for it. Let’s look at why. I’m happy for ideas being presented. And looked at. This is a work in progress that’s been batted about for a couple years. Or more prior to my time on it. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  8. Thank you BOTH for responding! Any help and support will be amazing! [emoji175][emoji175] Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  9. HELLO THERE!!!! Hoping you all had a lovely holiday. It’s a New Year. And the right time to post this! This is something that’s been discussed for a long time, past couple years actually. Interest was gathered. Names were thrown about with great research. Support was discussed. It’s been something I truly wished to see come to fruition here for our Detachment. I feel it’s important on many levels. We have many Detachments with women Sub Unit Teams. It’s about time FISD had one don’t you think?? Here’s what we have so far… JRS - Black Widows IOC -Firebirds Path Finders- Recon Fatale Krayt Clan- Scarabs MEPD - Desert Foxes Blizzard Force - Snow Angels Spec Ops- Sirens Clone Trooper- Bad Banshees IGC- Ravens ACD- Iron Maidens FISD- ? Bounty Hunters Guild-? Underworld- ? The Flagship Eclipse-? Sithlords -? Sovereign Protectors- ? I did a whack of research on numbers. Women Sub Teams in our Legion Detachments. Their names. Actual Percentages of women in the legion. What benefit such things offer our lady members on a whole. As FISD being the largest Detachment with a fairly low number of members identifying as female, I felt it was about time we had something that would in hopes, allow for more inclusion or be more welcoming. To support more women in builds and address issues that may stop them from coming to our forum or costumes in general. Please do not mistake my posting in any way against our men here. Our men are beautiful. Helpful. Insightful and knowledgeable. This is about EVERYONE having a safe place to discuss and build. Yes. There IS a place here for this exact thing. Some questions our lady members wish to ask , are personal. Very. And very much related to body parts our male counterparts do not have to consider nor deal with. Sometimes it’s daunting to cross that bridge and ask how do you squeeze a hormonal rear into armor not designed for a female curve. Discussions happened with this Detachments Command team, and we unanimously agreed this needed to happen. And was very much supported. The men here all supported me in this endeavor. An open/very accessible sub forum section will be created where any identifying woman can seek advice from other women. Women FISD staff. Other ladies in armor. Women addressing all things women because let’s face it- as lovely as our men are, I can see some cringing discussing binding breasts to fit a chest plate. Hormonal weight gain problems. And how that might look or be addressed. Or, how do you other ladies combat a menstrual cycle while in full armor. Let’s say you’ve encountered being sexualized. Or victimized. Had to remind another “cosplay does NOT equal consent” And you’d prefer a woman to seek advice from. Or… maybe you had a poor experience with a fellow woman member, and you wish to discuss it with another… Or. Let’s say you are 50. Had 3 children. Maybe don’t feel as pretty as another. You struggle with body image. You’ve seen a 30 year old hot blonde get 100 likes on posting herself in armor, yet you are 50/60. And overweight. And have been ostracized for wanting to be a trooper. Or ridiculed in your costume if you posted one. You struggled to build. Shim. Re fit. And were made fun of. Or. You gave up because all you could access for help here were male builders. So you left our forums. Downhearted. This sub unit forum/ team is not intended to be negative regarding our men. Nor a place for feminist platforms/agendas. This is always only about equality. Inclusion. Support. Help. Safety. Costume building for women. As is our entire Legion itself. This Detachment is extremely low in female to male ratio, and there is no real reason for that…. I questioned SO MANY WOMEN as to why. As the only Female member of Command Staff here, It’s always been my intent to change that percentage…Somehow. To encourage and welcome. Safely. Openly. Kindly. Equally. So. Let’s get back to the Unit itself. The most popular name choice was “Vaders Valkyries.” Now. That being said, names can be submitted. We can vote. We can look at many things. I’ll put this up here for an interest thread, and then proceed accordingly. See the comments. Listen for feedback. Please respond kindly and respectfully. I/we look forward to hearing from you all. 17. Psst. Ok. Let’s do this. Let’s kick the new term off with this Captains CRL. I just need a bit of discussion before I get going. Hoping you are all well. Congratulations to everyone on another term, and for surviving this all somehow to date. And again to you Andrew, for remaining in your DL position uncontested. A testament for us all. 18. Those that are trying to achieve EIB and centurion currently, would you like me to reach out to them to tell them that until the crls are concreted, there is no moving forward in their applications. Not yet. As how can one grant them the levels without clear concise details and costuming rules to follow. We will get them. As best as we can. I’m happy to respond to them if needing or wishing. 19. I’m ok being the bad guy here. I’ll tell any new hopeful that this cannot happen at this time. Send them my way. I’m ok with this. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

  23. Just wishing to share my Pride weekend with any of you that may appreciate it. (As always, there’s no room for hatred or unacceptance in my thread. These are my thoughts and experiences in my armor.) As I’ve posted before for the past few years, In our Rural Albertan area, we have a Pride weekend. Where we celebrate love and acceptance. As Family and friends. It’s a Family affair which involves all members of ones families in the Peace Country Region to come and support one another, their loved ones, and be together in a healthy, accepting, inclusive way. Celebrate whom we are as individuals. I always am honoured to be there. Love is love. We all deserve to be loved and cherished. Free of abuse and condemnation. By our choice of partners, our friends, family of choice and family of origin. Treated with kindness and equality. Whether we are straight or gay. If you are fortunate enough to have found your one true love, in anyone, you are lucky. Cherish it. Fight for it. Celebrate it. Hold onto it. Support it. I’m always happy to see love. And offer support. This event troop, 4 years ago that directly followed the Orlando shooting, was the first ever Pride event to be an official recognized troop by the Legion. As well, was the first for the community of Grande Prairie. My heart was full of love and pride to be there at the very beginning, and I experienced it with several of my Garrison mates I love dearly. This Family event is unique for a pride event, and it holds a very special, meaningful place in my heart. Many incredible things I experienced this weekend 4 prides ago. On a personal note, I struggled to attend this year and felt like a piece of my heart was missing. But I went. I supported. I hugged families there supporting their sons and daughters. Husbands walking hand in hand with their children. Wives with their children. Surrounded by their straight family and friends. People being together feeling safe to be who they really are. Youth being able to be who they are with no fear. I’m glad I was there. The masses that stopped by our booth were so grateful we were there. The hugs were real. The love I witnessed was real. It was so beautiful to witness, it was actually heart wrenching. Life is so strange. I’m grateful I shared this day with those in our garrison that also wished to experience the day together. I know it touched their hearts. It’s amazing what you can experience and create in and through our armor. Sharing with you the love of our Squadron, Garrison, Legion, community members and myself. Happy Pride weekend. With a grateful heart, Teresa. TK 41307. SoulArt. Geeky Pink. [emoji3590][emoji3448][emoji169][emoji172][emoji170][emoji171][emoji175] Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
