  1. Like 95% of my shadow stormtrooper armor is E6000 but I had used CA glue on my TK thighs and figured "oh, what could go wrong?" LOL of course... I even have the black E6000 too The only stuff I have left to finish is attach sniper knee, attach cover strip on back of shins, drill holes for snaps, and assemble the thermal detonator and I'm done.
  2. That sounds good enough to me, I'm always appreciative of additional information on what works to keep the dark appearance! I'm sure I'm making this a bigger deal than it has to be, like I usually do. I curse being a perfectionist sometimes! It was easier to hide any mistakes on the white stormtrooper armor, the black isn't as forgiving.
  3. I'll do a combo sand of 400 and then 800 (wet with soapy water) and then progress to the 1500 (wet with soapy water) that I have. Then I think maybe Novus 1 and then Novus 2? I'm going to order some Novus 3 just in case. I know that I have some of that Turtle Wax Jet Black spray detailer and wax that I use for my all black Fusion that I'm starting to wonder if it will work. It isn't compound though, so might just have to use it for the shine. @Harbinger @gmrhodes13
  4. Thanks for the help thus far guys! You are giving me hope that I can salvage this from looking like complete crap. I think it probably looks worse in the pics but I honestly feel really down about it
  5. Long story short, I feel like an idiot.
  6. Okay thanks! Yeah I knew that acetone will melt the ABS, this is an Anovos kit. I purchased some 400, 800, and 1500 grit sandpaper for it. At this stage I figure that probably my only option is to sand it and polish probably. I don't think that rubbing alcohol is gonna do it either? I'm gonna try and attach some files too. **EDIT** Forgot that you said the finish could dull with alcohol.
  7. Hey all! Just wondering if there is any specialty on getting CA glue prints and marks off of armor? I'm working on a shadow stormtrooper as my second kit (have a TK as well) and have made a slight mess on the backs of the thighs. Am I SOL or does a ton or rubbing alcohol work or do I send 400 grit then 1000 grit as I've read and polish with automotive or Novus (not sure which levels, I have two levels of it)? I have that testors black for the thermal detonator but I'm wondering if that is the only way to get this stuff removed. Thanks!
  8. Haha I know, right?!
  9. You may end up with it by the end of March, just depends. I was lucky with mine and ordered it at the tail-end of a wave in April 2016 and received it in June 2016. I ordered near end of wave for a shadow stormtrooper from them in February 2016 and received it in August 2016. I also did a TIE helmet too in April 2016 and got it in November 2016. There just doesn't seem to be a rhyme or reason on some of it, as some have waited over a year to two.
  10. Good stuff! You will be even more elated when it shows up at your doorstep and open it up! I remember that day well.
  11. Welcome and good work!!
  12. That sounds really interesting! I will PM you! Thanks!! Thanks friend! I started looking at the visual guide and CRL reqs for EIB. I have an Anovos kit so it looks like a lot of the stuff was already done or is pretty simple to do with what I have already learned.
  13. Thank you!! Oh yeah, I forgot to add that TD may be on the list too.
  14. Got my this (my second costume) approved 2 days ago! I know that I'm not a battle-worn since I'm switching between this and regular ANH Stunt, but I plan on either making this worn when the armor gets older or going commander. I have another stunt set of armor on order, so waiting on that to arrive. The pack is from Shawn, he did a great job! DLT-19 is from HFx, and pauldron and pouches are from Trooper Bay. Also working on a shadow stormtrooper now for Spec Ops and this is all starting to get more and more addicting!
  15. Check some of that scrap ABS from trimming out your parts. You can probably cut down/trim to the length/width of the cover strip you need for the bicep. Did you use E6000 or CA glue? I'd guess that you used the latter based on this post and needing a spare. If you used E6000 you will be able to separate it still and clean the glue off the spot.
