  1. Got some newbies questions here. Just making sure all my curiousities are taken care of before I proceed. 1. How do the shoulder bells attach? 2. How are thighs put together and put on? 3. Where does the return edge need to be removed completely?
  2. BIG BROWN BOX DAY HAS FINALLY ARRIVED! So of course, I immediately set to work unpacking it, all the while giggling with glee. This is going to be fun, I can tell already. What do you guys suggest is the best to start with?
  3. Hey all. I finally recieved the D-Ring I ordered, but am unsure of how to attach it. Anybody got suggestions? Thanks! ---------
  4. When I was young, I was obsessed with the old Lone Ranger show. My parents would pop a VCR in, the theme song would come on, and I'd be off tearing around the house. My family came to calling me the Little Ranger, and as I grew up, soon just 'Ranger'. So my name is a throwback to the thrilling days of yesteryear. Of course, my main interest now is Star Wars and being a plastic white spaceman.
  5. These are the cheapest I have seen. http://www.amazon.com/Funtasma-Mens-Trooper-12-Combat-Boot/dp/B00NXY3HTG They have a seam running down the front and to the side, however. They'd be good for basic approval, but no higher, according to what I've read about them. They'd be good for until you have a bigger budget though. Just my contribution.
  6. Hello all! This was a question I've been wanting to ask quite a few people for a while, and I didn't see it asked anywhere! Or I missed it because I sometimes do that. Allow me to start off! My build will be Empire Strikes Back styled, simply because ESB is my favorite movie of the original trilogy. How about the rest of you? Why did you choose ANH/ESB/ROTJ/Other styles?
  7. Sorry for no updates in a while, been busy with work and life plus I've generally just been lurking around staring at everyone else's topics. So, update news! Still no armor, it should be next month. Fingers crossed! I do have everything else I will need, minus snaps and rivets. Those are soon to come too. I just have a few questions. 1. How long does it generally take to build armor? 2. How many tubes of e6000 will I need? I have one tube, but the voice in my head is telling me that won't be enough. 3. I have 10 Earth magnets, will that be enough?
  8. Every time I'm feeling down and needing a laugh, I somehow always end up back here to this video. Love it! Can't wait for the next one!
  9. Here's to hoping you and your daughter feel better! My helmet is an ATA as well, and it was a fun build. Best of luck when you get started!
  10. Hey all! Besides waiting on my TK armor to arrive in April, I'm biding my time with other projects. So I ask where would be a good place to go for an accurate AT-AT pilot's jumpsuit?
  11. Update: I went with a Hyperfirm blaster.
  12. Thanks for the replies, guys. Do the Hyperfirm ANH blasters double up as ESB blasters as well?
  13. Good evening all, that silly Ranger is back with another newbie question for you all to shoot down with your blasters. kidding. I'm actually just curious where would be a good start to go with for my blaster while I wait for my armor. I've seen many threads about converting Hasbros, the Doopykit, making your own out of PVC... The possibilities are endless. What would you all recommend for a starter like me? I'm no stranger to making stuff. I've been building with Legos since I was 3. Any help or tips are appreciated!
  14. Aaaand just gave it a try. You, my friend, rock. Thank you both so much.
  15. I'll give it a try. Thanks for the tip! I'll say if it works out.
  16. They don't peel off easily, and the backing is rather thick. I'm not sure what they looked like from a year ago. *Edit: The decals aren't actually this fuzzy. My camera is just a potato----------
  17. Hey all! I'm having the darndest time figuring out how to get the ESB helmet decals off the backing. Does anyone mind helping this newbie out? I'm beyond tired, so apologies if this has been answered elsewhere. I should get some sleep I'll sleep later.
  18. Update yet again! My holster arrived today, so that's another thing checked off my to-do list! Helmet✓ (Partially done, waiting for decals.) Armor Boots Gloves✓ Neck Seal✓ Under Suit✓ Canvas Belt✓ Holster✓ Blaster Voice Amplifier✓ Thermal Detonator clips
  19. I can't vouch for the Akker and Icomm, but I got the HyTech yesterday. And so far, it's quite decent. The digitizer is nice, but there's no volume control. It's simply just a microphone, speaker, the digitizer, and a standard 9v battery. Don't expect too much though. It's fairly quiet. And with no way to control the volume, that could be a setback depending on what you'd like to do with it. If I were to rate it out of 10, I'd give it a 6.
  20. Hello all! I'm looking for the garrison I need to contact so that I can get properly started on my Road-To-501st Adventure, but.. I'm not sure whom to contact. http://www.whitearmor.net/forum/topic/23234-fisd-attach%C3%A9-list-find-your-local-attach%C3%A9-here/ ^ According to this, the New York garrison is the Empire City Garrison (Redforce), but from what I've read on their website, it looks like they cover New York City. (Correct me if I'm wrong.) I'm from Central New York, nestled between the cities of Auburn and Syracuse. What do I do about that? Any help is greatly appreciated. And if this was the wrong forum to post in: I'm sorry, this is the second time I've done this.
  21. Update! I squared out the teeth and repainted the frown. How does this look? Better? Worse? I'll need to sand it, of course. As soon as I can figure out where I left my sand paper..
  22. I've ordered the decals, thanks for that link. Going to be a couple days, so I'll just work on fixing everything else. I've spent the past half hour carefully scraping the frown's paint off. Going to redo it tomorrow, and I'm going to sand off those horrendous stripes. And then there's the matter of the ears.... My gosh this is fun. Wish I'd done this sooner!
